The Throne Is Mine -
Chapter 346
Chapter 346: Chapter 346
Amelia groaned as she slowly opened her eyes. She was met by darkness at first, unable to see what was in front of her so she closed her eyes and opened them once more to see where she was, but all she saw was darkness.
"What is wrong with my eyes?" Amelia asked, closing her eyes once more and trying to touch her face with her hands.
"You won’t be able to see for a while," Killian answered from beside the bed. He was finally able to stop worrying now that she was awake and he heard her voice.
He sat on a chair beside the bed Amelia lay on, relieved that she was finally awake after sleeping for more than three days since her change started. Killian was worried when he could not hear her heart or there wasn’t a single movement from Amelia after she went unconscious in the blood.
Killian was used to the ritual, but it being his wife this time made him realise how terrible it was. It was hard for him to stand to the side and not interfere while Lucifer changed her to a demon. He couldn’t interfere since it would only cause something bad to happen to Amelia. Something that he would not be able to fix.
Seeing that she was awake and well now helped him to believe that it had all gone right.
"Right," Amelia answered, remembering Killian telling her about the short blindness she would face. "I understand why you didn’t tell me about the blood and having to go unconscious in it. Did I die?"
"You were on the verge of death. Lucifer stabbed you with a special blade right in your heart. It was over quickly. I took you out, cleaned you off, and placed you here. We aren’t in the north right now. We are in the underworld, in the home I have here," Killian said, standing up to sit on the bed. "Our home now."
"I’ve been wanting to see it for a long time. How is Mara?" Amelia asked, turning her head to try to find where Killian was sitting by listening to his voice.
"Apparently, we might be going back to a castle in ruins since she has not seen her parents for a few days. I will visit her today now that you are awake. How are you feeling?" Killian asked.
"I hear too many things, but not having my sight is what I am trying to get used to. I don’t look strange, do I? I am still me?" Amelia asked, touching her face to make sure there was nothing to it. She had seen what most demons really looked like and knew that they hid their real appearance.
What if she had become like the demon in the library?
"You look beautiful-"
"You say that on days I know I do not look my best so I need you to be specific and say that there is nothing new to my body other than my eyes changing and perhaps my hair," Amelia said, trying to find a strand of hair to touch.
"You look the same way you looked in the morning before the ritual happened. You have the same eyes as your daughter and husband, but your hair is the same. I doubt it will ever turn white. Are you hungry? Do you want to go on a walk to stretch your feet?" Killian questioned, starting to massage her feet to bring some life back into it.
"Why is it that the time you bring me into the underworld I cannot see? This feels quite unfair to me. I can’t see, but it is time for me to get my body moving again, and you must have hated the sight of me lying here so still. We can go wherever you want. As long as it is not too noisy. My ears," Amelia said, wanting to cover her ears to stop all the sounds she could hear.
"It is no wonder why Mara gets too angry and tries to tear up the castle. How could anyone deal with hearing so many sounds? How have you not gone mad?" Amelia asked, unable to bear too many sounds at once.
This was only a few minutes of being able to hear every noise around her and it was starting to drive her crazy, but this was Killian’s world every day.
"Mara’s hearing won’t be like what you are experiencing. It will change for her when she comes of age. If our daughter was bothered by noises as you are now, our castles would have long fallen to the ground. I am going to lift you for now until we get down the stairs," Killian said beforehand so she wouldn’t be startled by his touch. "I miss the colour of your eyes."
"Will I be able to change my appearance like you do with your eyes to hide what you are? It is not that I want to hide being a demon from my people-"
"I know," Killian interjected to stop her from worrying. "You would like to change once in a while to seduce me with your old eyes. As much as I would like that, I’m afraid your eyes will stay as they are now for a while. You will have to learn to change the colour of your eyes. It is only your hair you won’t be able to change since you are not a pure demon."
"I see. What happened to Loki? I’ve been making sure that hound is well fed, but he never comes to visit me. Even in a time like this when I would love to have someone to stay with me when you are busy, he does not come by my side. I will stop feeding him," Amelia decided.
Killian lifted Amelia from the bed and walked her to the open door to go downstairs. He lived alone in the underworld so there would be no one to see her when she was healing. "I think Loki might have become a father. He is of the age-"
"What!" Amelia exclaimed, followed by a groan as her yelling tortured her ears. "How is it possible for him to have children when he doesn’t like anyone?" Amelia asked, finding it to be impossible for Loki to have found a hellhound he wanted to have children with.
Amelia always thought that Loki would always be alone since he was sometimes angered by Asura’s presence. He liked to run off to be alone, only coming to Amelia when he wanted food he didn’t want to hunt for, and sometimes staying in Mara’s room. Now, that hellhound had children?
"Are you sure it is not another hellhound you have mistaken for him?" Amelia asked to be sure that Killian had seen right.
"How can I see wrong when he tries to bite me whenever I try to get near to him? I told you that they are around the age to start families. His behaviour these days with dragging off his kill instead of sitting to eat it by himself led me to follow him and I saw him meeting with a hound I have never seen before. He won’t come to you now when he has others to care for," Killian explained.
"Still, a goodbye would have been nice. I hope that he will be safe. I don’t know how much food he can find in the underworld. I need to continue my studies of the underworld, but I am afraid to go into the library. If you love me, you will get more books for me," said Amelia.
Each time she saw the demon in the library, she was certain that it kept getting scarier like it was toying with her. Toying with her fear for its own amusement.
"You certainly love to question my love to get me to do things for you. There are a few books here you can read when your vision comes back. I do not spend much time here now that my family is in the world above so I will apologise now for how the library is. I should have tried to clean before you woke up," Killian apologised, looking around at the boring decor that didn’t suit Amelia.
There were treasures from his time roaming the human world all around the house that needed to be moved now that Amelia was here.
He didn’t have time to get rid of it since he was glued to Amelia’s side and when he wasn’t, he went to check on his daughter, but he didn’t go close to Mara so he wouldn’t disturb her.
If she saw him now, she would cling to him and he would have no choice but to bring her into the underworld sooner than they planned.
"I can’t see so it is perfectly fine. I don’t want you to change a single thing here since I want to see how my husband lived before me and Mara were in your lives. Killian, I might not be able to see, but I can still feel that your hand does not need to be palming me on my buttocks so much," Amelia said, resting her head on his chest.
She couldn’t be more relieved that it all went well and she was back in his arms again, having to deal with his ways.
