The Throne Is Mine -
Chapter 327
Chapter 327: Chapter 327
"I’m afraid we might have turned poor Gina into a drunk," Amelia said, watching Gina who was laid out on the floor with her empty glass still in her hands. "I never knew she was such a good drinker."
After telling the story about her and Alastor, Gina grabbed the newly opened bottle and poured more wine for herself.
"Why aren’t you drinking? Are they not to your liking?" Edith asked, looking at the glass of juice in Amelia’s hands. She was the odd one amongst them.
"Oh. Well, you see Lilith says that I am pregnant so I am trying to be careful," Amelia replied.
"What!" Gina screamed, sitting up quickly to look at Amelia. She groaned due to the funny feeling in her head and then the headache that followed.
"You have a wonderful talent for snapping out of your drunken state when there is gossip to be told or heard," Lilith said, thoroughly enjoying how fun Gina made the night. Gina was the second human on her list of the humans she liked.
"You are pregnant? How-"
"What do you mean? You’ve done it three times with Alastor," Lilith bluntly answered. If they needed her to go into more detail, she would. "Do you want me to go into detail about how your little meetings with Alastor will have you carrying a child?"
"No. Before you rudely interrupted me, I was going to ask how it was possible to know that she was pregnant. Have you been married longer than I think you were?" Gina asked, looking to the ceiling as if the answer would be there. She started to count the days. "It is not a month yet. How do you know?"
"Pregnancies for demon children are much faster than what we are used to. Lilith said it could last six months or five if I have enough souls to eat," said Amelia, still finding it hard to believe, but she was slowly getting used to it.
"Souls? You have to eat souls? This is madness," Gina muttered, pulling on her hair as she thought about her own predicament. The first and second times she had sex with Alastor, he did not finish inside of her, but the third time, he surprisingly did. Twice!
"Babies for everyone," Lilith teased.
Amelia bit her lip to hide her laughter because of Gina’s look of horror. In the heat of the moment, getting pregnant didn’t cross your mind. She was curious to see if Gina and Alastor would continue whatever their relationship was.
Now that she thought about it, Alastor who was normally calm suited Gina who had a tendency to freak out. It was the best person to grab Gina’s shoulder and stop her from running around in circles. Amelia imagined his boredom, not wanting to be here where there was noise as he stopped Gina.
Edith happily drank her wine since she had no intention of having children to be worrying like Gina. She had her secret remedy to deal with that issue after nights of sex. "Congratulations on your first child, Queen Amelia," she said.
It was great news that there would be more demons of Killian’s kind in the future. He would be the second of the demons under Lucifer to continue his bloodline. The first one to do it with a human would shock everyone who was not aware by now that Killian had married a human.
"Congratulations. Why didn’t I know already? It is my job to know everything about you. Were you hiding it because of your grandmother and the priests? How long have you known? There is so much I need to do. We have to plan so much," Gina rambled.
Amelia now saw what Killian had to deal with when it came to her stressing over the future when she had so many people under her command and loved ones to help her. If she could, she would put Gina to sleep so that her mind could rest.
"I recently found out thanks to Lilith acting weird. I have not told my mother or anyone else as yet. I want to wait until Killian can confirm that I am pregnant. Then I will tell my mother and grandmothers. When the kingdom feels somewhat calm again I will announce it. Do not tell anyone yet. I will punish you by making you have to work in the library in the north," Amelia said.
"You have no idea how much it amuses me that Killian fails to sense his own child," Lilith chuckled, having a devious plan in mind for the next time would see him. As punishment for keeping Amelia to himself for so long, she was going to tease him about not being able to sense his own child.
"Please don’t say anything about it to him. He never looks happy when he doesn’t notice something. I already told him that it is starting to feel like our child is hiding from him or he is not as powerful as I thought. What is there to eat?" Amelia questioned, looking around the room for something to put in her mouth. She missed dinner thanks to Killian.
"I can get a soul for you or-" Lilith paused, turning to the window where she sensed something strange. She looked at the window trying to see if she sensed someone there or if she was just drunk.
Edith had not reacted to something or someone being outside the window so Lilith left it as she was drunk until she got the funny feeling again. Someone was near and it wasn’t Killian or Alastor watching over their women. Taking a guess, Lilith assumed they were watching Amelia or her.
"I will go to the kitchen and get us more food. Amelia will also need some more juice. Do not have too much fun without me," Lilith said, pushing the bottle she was drinking from into Gina’s hands. "I will be right back."
"Is there something wrong?" Amelia asked because of the change in Lilith’s mood. She wasn’t here for that long so she didn’t expect Lilith to be the one to volunteer to leave so soon when Lilith normally did not like to leave her side.
Lilith smiled to rid Amelia of her worries. "Nothing is wrong. I am just going to get enough food and drinks to last us the night. Continue to have a bit of fun without me but not too much fun. I will be back as fast as I can."
Amelia did not completely believe Lilith, but to not interrupt the fun when she had been late, she said nothing more. She watched Lilith get up, take the two empty bottles with her, and leave the room. Lilith wasn’t the best when it came to being secretive.
Lilith closed the door and looked down both ends of the hall to check for anyone. There were only the usual demons roaming the castle, but none of them was what she sensed. She put the bottles down to the side to deal with later. Whoever was so bold to be spying on them needed to be taken care of now.
She knew that it could not be Lucifer. There was not a day that went by where she would not be able to tell when Lucifer was lingering in the shadows watching her. How was she to one day go back into the underworld when it was so much fun in this castle?
Lilith disappeared from the halls to the outside of the castle to look at the window of the room the others were in. There was nothing odd about it, but she couldn’t shake the feeling that there was someone there.
"You sensed them too," Lilith said, looking ahead at the darkness where the light from the lanterns did not reach.
Killian stepped into the light to show himself to Lilith. "You interrupted my hunt. She’s gone already. Go back with Amelia. I will take care of this small problem."
"She? Is it someone that you know? Why would you be stalking your wife?" Lilith asked, looking back up at the window. If there was someone looking to hurt her friend, she wanted to join in on getting rid of them.
"It’s one of the demons who was taken from the north thanks to Amelia’s father. She has it out for Amelia. Amelia’s former guard was supposed to take her to the underworld, but he failed and now I’m going to kill his little lover. Go back and let Amelia enjoy the night. She left me alone to be with all of you so she better have fun," Killian said as she left Lilith to follow Jahi’s trail.
He was hoping to not have to deal with any more idiots targeting his wife, but there was always that one fool to do it. Killian was not in the mood to deal with Jahi when he was already bothered by Amelia leaving his side. This was far from what he had planned when he returned to this kingdom.
Jahi chose the wrong night to sneak into the castle and be looking for Amelia when he was in a foul mood and Amelia was pregnant.
Killian also knew that Cyrus had followed Jahi into the castle. As long as he could keep Amelia distracted, he could kill both of them and not have to worry about them in the future.
