The Throne Is Mine -
Chapter 287
Chapter 287: Chapter 287
Amelia did not know what to do with Agramon being here. She didn’t trust that he no longer wanted to get rid of her. She already had to keep an eye on her enemies here, and now her enemy from the north had come to aid her.
It would have been better if Agramon remained where he was before this, so she did not need to add worrying about what he was doing to the list of things she had to do today.
"Killian soon has to fly back up the mountain. Would you like to join-"
"You’ve asked me to join the court that you are creating, and after I have spent my time flying down from the mountain, you want me to fly back up with this man. Is there something wrong with your head? Are you not supposed to be smart?" Agramon asked. He was going nowhere when there was so much for him to feed on in this castle.
He heard so much about the Blackwells and how they viewed themselves better than the rest of the world. He wanted to see their ego today, and then he would ruin it. Humans needed to stay in their place.
"There is no need for you to get insulting with your words. Please," Amelia begged Agramon since she did not have the strength to hold Killian back. "Fine, but you must make a deal with me that you will not try to backstab me and get me killed."
Agramon could not resist the urge to roll his eyes. He was here to see how this so-called queen would handle taking over the castle. She still had to prove herself worthy to sit on the throne in the north, or she would leave on her own. If she died today, it would just be more added entertainment for him. "You have my word," he promised.
"No. Do it the right way. Just like the devil, some demons can make deals that they cannot go back on. I want you to make one of those deals with me. It is the only way I will not have to worry about you," said Amelia, holding out her right hand for the deal to be made.
Agramon glanced at Killian since he had to be the one to reveal this secret to Amelia. "I see you have been learning, but I don’t make deals with humans. I prefer to just kill you," he said.
"Then you cannot stay here, and I will have Killian drag you back to the north. If you fight against this, I will find a way to tell Lucifer that you are ruining the plans I made with him," Amelia smiled. She was well aware that no one wanted to piss off Lucifer during this time.
Agramon wanted Amelia to die now more than ever since she had the nerve to want Lucifer to be angry with him. If the tall brute beside them was not present, he would throw Amelia off of this balcony and take this castle for himself. He was never so irritated with a human. Why was it so hard to kill one woman?
To get this over with, Agramon held out his right hand for Amelia to make a deal with him. "Haven’t you been told not to make a deal with a demon?"
"No, I’ve only heard about the devil. I am sure no one would want me to marry a demon, and think the marriage would end in disaster, but it is going well. I think I can manage to make a deal with you," Amelia answered, not fearing what would happen. Killian would have stopped her the moment she proposed a deal if something would go wrong.
From what she read in a book she found in the library, making a deal with a demon would hurt them more as long as you were able to outsmart them. That she could do.
"You have not been married for long to say it is going well. Give it time for you to be crying," Agramon said, knowing there would come a day when she would be running away from Killian. Demons were not good partners for humans. "My offer still stands for me to get you out of the castle."
Amelia grabbed Agramon’s hand and squeezed it. "Are we making a deal or are you going back up the mountain? I don’t want to hear any more about my marriage from you. While you are here in the Blackwell castle with me, I am not to die by your hands or by you using your abilities to persuade someone else to kill me."
"Deal," Agramon agreed, imprinting his mark into her hand. When they stepped out of the Blackwell castle, he would manipulate some human to kill her. There had to be someone walking around here who wanted the princess dead.
"I will tear you limb from limb if you touch her," Killian warned. Even with a deal made, he didn’t trust Agramon to not try to do something to Amelia. Agramon had been too silent these days. All he could believe was that whatever Lucifer punished Agramon for would make him think twice about killing the queen of the north.
It would have been a good gesture from Lucifer to invite Killian to see Agramon tortured for whatever he had done.
"Save your threats for someone else. Why does it smell like holy water is here?" Agramon scrunched up his nose after the foul smell reached his nostrils.
Amelia wondered if, unlike Killian, holy water would have some kind of effect on Agramon. There had to be more in the temple she could get her hands on and keep to her side in case any demons disobeyed her orders and tried to attack her. It was better to be safe than sorry.
"Please find something to do until I am ready to take over the castle. That does not mean you should reveal who you are just yet. I want to see the look on their faces when they find out that demons are real. Oh, I do have some use for you and your skill to feed into someone’s fears. I want you to meet my cousin," Amelia said, plotting a bit of torture for Fraser. She already knew his fears, so Agramon would not have to guess. Fraser was easy to scare.
For all the foolish games Fraser played before and after he became queen, she would get back at him using Agramon. It was also time for Fraser and the men in the court to learn who had killed her father.
