The Throne Is Mine
Chapter 233

Chapter 233: Chapter 233

"I can as long as I have the name and the day of the death. It would make going through the records quite easy. I must tell you before I start looking, there is a price to pay for me bringing you information from the underworld. You are still a human after all and we do not normally share our knowledge with your kind. I would like coins from the underworld," Samuel had out his hand for coins to be placed.

"Coins?" Amelia looked to Killian.

"You will be well paid for helping her, Samuel. I am a man of my word," said Killian.

Samuel retreated his hands. "You are. That is what I like about you. We will speak more about your mother’s soul later, Queen Bune. I don’t want to keep you from your other guests. I will be spending a bit of time here in the north. I want to see what else has been added to your books. It was nice to meet you," he bowed his head before leaving.

"That was interesting," Amelia muttered. Her conversations were going better than she expected. She had a feeling most would be nice in order to get closer to Killian, but she did not mind it for now. Learning about where other demons rule was enough to make her forget some would be nice to get on Killian’s good side. "I have never visited lands covered in sand or travelled the sea. Have you?"

"I have and they were both quite boring. The boats sway back and forth while there is nothing for days around the land Gabriel rules. You can use the gates to travel around to other parts of the world. You need to go into the underworld and find a room full of doors to do it. It is how I travelled the world," Killian replied.

Amelia was interested in seeing more of the world, but as of right now, the King and Queen should not leave the castle. ’Maybe one day when we pass down the throne to one of our children we can travel the world,’ she thought. The castle wouldn’t need her then.

"The travel is like a blink of an eye. You wouldn’t be out of the castle for long."

Amelia narrowed her eyes and asked, "Did you just read my thoughts?"

"It is a skill I would love to use, but no. I read your expressions. It will be easy to rule and travel. We will be travelling sooner than you think," Killian said, referring to the Blackwells who didn’t know when to quit.

Amelia wanted to ask what Killian meant, but before she could, someone else showed up before her. Luckily, it was a woman with a human appearance.

"Queen Bune," the woman bowed her head. "I am Sadie. I have no land that I rule, but I have been a traveller in this world for years now. I hope you will still take interest in me," she held out her hand for Amelia to shake.

"Of course," Amelia replied and tried to shake Sadie’s hand, but Killian stopped her.

Sadie looked away from Amelia to Killian who liked to ruin the fun. "I was not going to hurt your wife. I don’t ever want to pick a fight with you. Oh, how you have fallen in love. I didn’t think you hand it in you. Can you teach me to do it? Fall in love I mean? No matter how high or low I search, I cannot find someone who brings out that emotion."

"Why can’t I shake your hand?" Amelia asked, intrigued about what was dangerous about Sadie’s hands. She was learning about the different types of demons, but it was hard to identify anyone. They all had different appearances and when they showed a human form, it was much harder.

Sadie tapped her fingers against her right cheek. "Sometimes a little touch from my hands can make a person sick and eventually die. How am I to love if I cannot touch anyone? Even some demons die from it. I would have to go after the more powerful demons who are immune to it," she glanced at Killian.

Amelia didn’t like the interest Sadie was taking in Killian. Like Killian was supposed to share his newfound love with Sadie who could not find any. "There are a lot of demons here for you to get acquainted with someone and fall in love," Amelia said, taking hold of Killian’s arms to show he was off limits.

Sadie was amused by Amelia rubbing it in that Killian was taken. There was no such thing as taken in Sadie’s eyes. Everyone was meant to be shared and Amelia being a weak human made the job quite easy. "Well, if you don’t mind, please point out anyone you think would suit me, Queen Bune. I have been waiting a long time to be loved and I am quite impatient."

"Why do you care so much about being loved?" Amelia had to ask.

Sadie’s eyes widened for a moment before she smiled. No one had ever asked that question before. "It was one of my biggest regrets in my old life when I was human just like you. I lived a painful life without anyone ever loving me. No matter how many times I ask," Sadie looked at her hands. "No one can provide me with the answer to why I have been cursed to kill most of the people I touch. Even with a new life, there is something to stop me from getting close to others."

Amelia suddenly found Sadie’s situation to be a bit pitiful. She was resorting to stealing others’ love because she couldn’t obtain it herself. "Why were you given a new life?" Amelia asked.

Sadie looked up from her hands to Amelia. "They said that I was special. A soul that manifested into a demon. Apparently, I had much to do in this world and refused to pass on. That is why I travel to find what I am missing and it could only be love."

"Stop looking so hard and enjoy the second life given to you. Maybe you should find love within yourself first before you go looking for it in others. Then someone who will flip your life upside down will randomly appear when you least expect it. That is what happened to me and I assure you, it’s not that fun. You eat so many words from your past," Amelia muttered.

She never expected to have feelings for whoever she married, but here she was now easily hooked on the demon beside her and was willing to change into a demon one day to be with him longer. It was quite possible she had started to love the man beside her.

"Is that so?" Sadie chuckled, amused by Amelia. "I made it evident I would love to steal your husband and you offer me advice. You are strange, Queen Bune. I happen to like that. Fine, I will try what you said. You have a special soul," Sadie winked. It was odd to find the Queen having a spell on her and not even her husband noticing it or he would have long had it removed.

Amelia wanted to know what Sadie meant but knew if she asked, she wouldn’t be given the answer. So many secrets in one castle. The North put the Blackwell castle to shame when it came to secrets.
