The Throne Is Mine
Chapter 218

Chapter 218: Chapter 218

The next day in the castle, servants were moving quickly to prepare for the Queen’s coronation in front of all the demons living on the mountain. Alastor warned the servants that anyone who messed up the day would be banished to the underworld or worse. It was Killian’s order he was passing on.

No one knew exactly when Killian and Amelia were planning to return to the castle so before they arrived, the servants wanted to make the throne room as Killian envisioned so he would not get angry that they had not completed the job.

"You can stop jumping up and down beside me. Your excitement is choking me," Edith said, using her right hand to keep Gina still. "She’s already the Queen. This is just for show and for Killian to put it in everyone’s heads that we must respect her."

"Still, I am looking forward to seeing Amelia all dressed up with her crown and all eyes on her. We have to make her even more perfect than she already is today. When she returns, you need to be more excited. We have to distract her from the fact no one from the Blackwell kingdom is here. They are preparing for her cousin to become King. I was expecting at least her grandmother would be here. I hope she is not disappointed," Gina muttered.

"Their loss," Edith said, not caring about the lack of Blackwells.

"It is but I know it kind of bothers her. Since a truce did not happen, no one from the Blackwell kingdom would want to visit the north. I can’t fight the feeling that there will be a war between the two kingdoms soon and Amlie will be put in a tough spot. I- Amelia!" Gina called to the star of the day. She looked up into the sky where she spotted Killian flying around with Amelia in his arms.

Gina rushed to where Killian was landing so she could check on Amelia and then immediately drag her off to prepare for the big day.

"We need to use my carriage more often instead of flying around," Amelia said, her body shaking from the fright. Flying around was not for her. There was a good reason she was not born with wings. "Sweet land," she added when her feet touched the ground. Her heart was beating quickly and she still felt the force of the wind on her skin.

Killian was completely unaffected thanks to his many years of flying around. "It would be better if you didn’t eat before we took off. I warned you," he walked by her.

"I am not flying with you anymore. I will be using my carriage from now on. That is the reason I bought it in the north with me. Gina, are all the preparations going alright? Have you put out my dress? Excuse me," Amelia covered her mouth to hold back the food she ate from leaving her body. Killian’s terrible flying, which she knew he did on purpose, made her want to vomit. Never again would she fly with him even if it made traveling quick.

"I have everything laid out for you in your room. You have to see the crown you are meant to wear. It is huge. We have two hours for me to get you ready..."

Killian drowned out the sound of Gina talking about something that had nothing to do with him. His eyes went to a black cat sitting on the wall in the garden watching all of them while its tail swayed back and forth.

Seeing that someone finally noticed it, the black cat jumped off the wall and started to make its way to the group. Killian continued to watch it, already knowing the cat was nothing but trouble.

"A black cat," Gina panicked as for her a black cat meant bad luck. "Go away," she waved her hands to try scaring it away but the cat sat and stared at her like it was amused. "I am not letting you go anywhere near Amelia," she bent down to pick it up.

"Who are you?" The cat spoke.

Amelia’s eyes widened and she looked at Killian for a split second. Demons were one thing but now there was a speaking cat. If not for Gina quickly stepping back, Amelia would have thought this was a side effect from flying. "Why is a cat speaking?" She asked.

The cat licked its right paw and then said, "Forgive me. I forget how odd this would be for your kind. I have been secretly waiting for the two of you to arrive. I did not want to stir up any noise in the castle before you were here. It is a pleasure to meet you, Amelia Bune."

"It is a pleasure to meet you too, mister cat. You didn’t explain why you are speaking. Are you some creature of the underworld that took a different form in this world?" She asked.

The cat looked at Amelia. "You are-"

"Stop fucking around with your appearance and introduce yourself to my wife properly, Lucifer," Killian said, annoyed with how long the devil was dragging this out.

"Did you really need to ruin my fun, Killian? How boring."

Amelia didn’t think life could get any stranger but watching a talking cat turn into a man showed there were stranger days ahead of her.

"My King," Edith bowed her head. Never would she have imagined being so close to two great demons.

"You know I don’t like to be called King when so many demons have left the underworld and call themselves King. Like Killian here. It is better to just call me the devil. That way the humans present know who I am and won’t get me mixed up with Killian when you say King. Forgive me for not coming to meet you sooner, Amelia. There is always trouble in the underworld to stop me from visiting this world above. You can call me Lucifer or the Devil. Whichever you prefer," Lucifer held his hand out.

Amelia inspected the man before her. He had similar features to Killian but his body was not as muscular as Killian and his hair was short. She got an ominous feeling from him which made sense as he was the Devil.

Seeing that Killian was not vocal about them not shaking hands, Amelia shook Lucifer’s hand. "I will go with Lucifer. It is nice to finally meet you. Thank you for taking the time to come here today."

Lucifer smiled, revealing teeth similar to the fangs Killian had when he tried to bite her. "One of my favorite demons has found a wife. I already missed your big wedding day so I could not miss this. Where is my wife? She left my side to try finding you first. She is a white cat," Lucifer said, looking around for her. "Here kitty kitty!" He called out.

"Kitty," Amelia mumbled in disbelief.

Lucifer heard what Amelia said even though it was said under her breath. "My wife hates when I call her kitty. She’ll come running out of a bush to scratch me in no time."

’All of these demons are broken,’ Amelia thought as aside from Agramon, the others were not what she would have imagined demons to be like.
