Chapter 211: Chapter 211
"Killian!" Amelia exclaimed and tried to back away from him but there was still the wall behind her. She pushed his shoulders to stop him from biting her or whatever he intended to do. "What are you doing?" She asked, her voice laced with panic.
Killian snapped out of what had come over him when he noticed the fear in Amelia’s eyes. "Shit," he muttered, pulling out of her and placing her feet down on the floor. He palmed his face as he tried to make sense of what was happening.
"Were you going to bite me?" Amelia asked, still in shock about it. She could handle the hair and eyes changing or even what appeared to be tiny horns on his head but it was taking a moment to process the fact it seemed like he wanted to bite her. Maybe it was something demons liked to do.
"Probably," Killian answered honestly. He wouldn’t have grown fangs at the moment if he wasn’t going to. He touched his teeth to see if they had gone back to normal. The fangs were no longer there.
"Oh. As something intimate or to eat me?" Amelia hugged her body. They were both standing around stark naked and confused about what happened. Killian’s disbelief about his actions worried her as it seemed he wasn’t thinking straight when he tried to do it.
"Could be a mixture of both. I thought of biting you like I was hungry. I need to leave for a moment," Killian said, leaving her side to get his clothes. The image of the fear in her eyes was not easy to get over. The one thing he tried hard not to do happened in such an intimate moment.
"I don’t want to be here by myself. I am sure you wouldn’t hurt me. It was just a simple mistake from the heat of the moment or maybe demons normally bite each other in moments like this? Do not leave me, Killian," Amelia pleaded with him. One because she didn’t want to be alone and two, his leaving would put their relationship in a weird place.
"I won’t go anywhere far and I will be back shortly," Killian continued to get dressed.
Amelia wanted to say more to convince him to stay but she couldn’t find the right words to make him stay when she already asked him to. Maybe he really was going to harm her and would not have stopped if she didn’t push him away so he needed a moment away from her. She wished he would be open now with what he was feeling so she wouldn’t need to guess.
"I will only be gone for a few minutes," Killian promised, handing Amelia her dress. He needed space to clear his head and get rid of the growing thoughts of how good it would be to eat her soul.
Killian had eaten many souls from the living and picked off a few souls wandering around in the underworld. Never would he have thought the soul of his wife was something he would want to eat especially when he didn’t have a hunger like other demons. It was the downside of marrying a human who turned out to be a golden child. Her soul would be quite the treat for him.
"No," Amelia grabbed his hand instead of her dress. "You are not leaving me here for even just one second. I don’t know why you suddenly turned full demon but you snapped out of it. Is it because I pushed you away? Of course I would be scared then. You changed in a blink of an eye and then your teeth," she paused as she tried to get rid of the memory. "I am not afraid of you, Killian. I was just surprised."
Amelia continued to say, "If you leave right now you are going to create a rift between the two of us. You’re going to sulk over scaring me. I don’t want this time alone to end with you avoiding me because you think you will want to eat me each time we have sex or when we are standing around like we are now."
Amelia reached out to touch Killian. "There’s been a few times when we are having sex that I feel like biting you. If you bit me, I would have bitten you back," she joked.
"You would be bleeding away your life now if I had bitten you. Our bites are worse than vampires or werewolves," said Killian.
"And you would have found a way to save me, right? I understand that almost hurting me might have angered you but I am the one who should be shaken up here and I am not. Please do not turn this into something that will weigh on us for a long time," Amelia said, caressing his arm to help get rid of what was on his mind.
To further show how much she had gotten over him trying to bite her, Amelia palmed his face and tiptoed to kiss him. There wasn’t a worry at the back of her head that he would try to do it again. It was simply a mistake that shouldn’t ruin the moment. She sighed in relief when Killian wasn’t against the kiss and kissed her back.
"This might be bad timing but you should show off your white hair and eyes more. The horns too," she whispered. She had gotten accustomed to life in the north and saw many of the servants or guards not hiding what they were. "You can be yourself around me. I can handle it. Honestly, I’m used to white hair. Gina pulls out a few from my hair and my eyes once turned red because I couldn’t sleep. I wasn’t as beautiful as you are but still."
"Good to know," Killian replied.
"By the way, if we continue to have sex, I don’t know what you have against the bed but I would prefer if we use it instead of the wall. I think we bruised my back," Amelia said, reaching behind to touch the sore spots. The wall was not an issue when you were lost in the heat of the moment but now, her back ached. "Is it bleeding?" She asked.
Killian didn’t smell any blood but he still turned her around to see what damage was caused. "It is not bleeding. It is nothing I can’t heal. I’m sorry," he apologized as his fingers trailed the red marks on her back.
"Casualty of war?" Amelia joked. Her skin tingled and she figured it was an effect of Killian somehow healing her back. "What can’t you do?"
"Cook so never ask unless you want to be sick for days," Killian answered.
"Noted. I can’t cook either so we are even. That felt good," she touched her back again and tried to feel around for where there was pain before but it was gone now. "So, are we going to continue or should I rush to put on my dress? I’m starting to feel awkward being the only one naked."
"I will help you with your dress," Killian decided not to continue. It was too risky to continue now when her scent was clouding his mind and he felt the urge to eat something.
