The Throne Is Mine
Chapter 132

Chapter 132: Chapter 132

"Miss? Lady Margaret has been asking if you are alright-"

"What part of do not pester did you not understand? I don’t care who wants to know about me! That old witch never cared about me or my child but now she wants to check up on me? Tell I said to leave me the hell alone!" Annabelle yelled to the door.

"B-But she’s royalty. Everyone has been concerned about the well-being of their child. They are requesting you let a doctor come inside. You have not eaten for five days. I-"

Annabelle opened the door to stop the annoying chatter. It wasn’t like she could stay hidden away in the room forever. The longer she stayed the more suspicious everyone would be. Margaret didn’t care about her child. ’That woman only wants to know what I am hiding,’ she thought.

Annabelle didn’t know what to do about the fact she was no longer pregnant but the one thing she knew to do was to act normal from now on and stuff her stomach as the days go by. Her biggest issue would be the doctor who at some point would have to check up on her. She needed to switch from the usual castle doctor to someone who would be on her side.

"Where is lady Margaret or the princess?" Annabelle asked the young maid.

"The princess? The princess is no longer in this kingdom. She has headed to the north to prepare for her wedding and become queen. She departed yesterday with all of her belongings. The only royals are lady Margaret and Fraser Adams who is preparing for his coronation. I can take you to lady Margaret. She would be delighted to see you outside your room."

Annabelle stared at the young girl who would have been a threat had Richard been alive. She found the young girl to be irritating and would have the head maid fire her. With a new king, young maids would have the chance to bed him, unlike Annabelle. They were younger than her and since there was hardly any threat to Fraser’s

If she doesn’t come up with a grand scheme soon she would be kicked out of the castle after all her hard work while the maid before her could take her spot as a king’s mistress. It was utterly frustrating how her life took a turn for the worst. Annabelle roughly shoved the young girl who could do nothing since Annabelle was a guest in the castle and was pregnant with royalty.

Annabell muttered curses under her breath as she walked down to the kitchen to find some food. She had held out long enough without eating because of her secret but she was hungry. Annabelle walked the busy halls to go down to the kitchen so the servants could talk about seeing her looking normal and no one would be suspicious of why she was previously hiding.

Annabelle hope not to run into Margaret or Fraser but her bad luck continued. She thought about turning around when she spotted Margaret standing in the path she would have to take to get to the kitchen but knew Margaret would not let her retreat so easily. She forced a smile as she neared the old woman she so desperately wanted to die.

"Annabelle, good to see that you are well. I was starting to think you might have shriveled up and died in your room. Why have you been giving the servants such a hard time? They have better things to do than convince a pregnant woman to eat. Do you not care about your child?" Margaret asked since it did not seem that way. Now that the child would not sit on the throne did Annabelle not care for it?

Margaret wasn’t a fan of Annabelle or the child that came from the messy relationship the woman had with her son but that did not mean she was okay with what the woman was doing. The only reason Annabelle was still in the castle was because of the child in her stomach. One would think the woman would be smart enough to take care of it well.

"Why do you care? Are you finally accepting my child? A little bit late isn’t it?" Annabelle asked. She could have used this acknowledgment when a choice for a new king was being made.

Margaret couldn’t help but feel bad for how stupid Annabelle was. It had to hurt to be this slow. "Make your decision for if you will be staying in the castle or you wish to have a home placed in your name for you and your child. The castle life seems to be getting to you. You’ll find that with Richard gone, your life can be easily snatched away from you. Think about your child more than yourself.

"Ha. As if I would take advice from a woman who did not look deep into the death of her only child and worst of all let her granddaughter marry the murderer. Do not concern yourself with my matters when you have failed your son and granddaughter. You must be drowning in guilt," Annabelle chuckled.

Margaret on the other hand did not find anything amusing about Annabelle’s words. "Little girl, I wouldn’t be so bold with the way you speak to the people here when you have no one on your side. I do not care for you or the child you have but the servants who look drained after they have tried doing their job which is to serve you. It wouldn’t take long for me to kill you or send you back to the pathetic life you have before my son. Don’t let old age fool you that I can’t get rid of you. I still have power in this castle."

She continued to say, "Fraser isn’t going to let you stay in the castle when you are pregnant so it won’t be long before you come running to me for help as I am the only one capable of going against him. When you come to beg note that I like when people get down on their knees and cry."
