The Sweetest Temptation
Chapter 268: Helped

Chapter 268: Helped

"Somebody! Help!" It surprised her that this happened in the midst of all the people around them, and yet, no one could come to her rescue.

Well, I brought myself into this situation, I might as well take what I’m being served. It’s not like it’s the first time. With that thought, she gave up fighting, allowing her limbs to go weak as she gave her attacker access to her.

"That’s more like it. Oh, yes, I love a submissive bitch. You actually meet the criteria." He growled, chuckling wickedly as he brought his mouth to her ear. "You wanna know why no one’s answering?" He asked, trailing his overly wet tongue inside her ear. He continued, "every single person, that you see in this room, has been drugged."

"How is that possible?" She managed to ask in her cold state.

"How could I not know? I sell it to em, and guess what? I took some myself."

Her eyes widened at the realization. That explained his irrational behaviour, however, what she could not fathom, was the idea that every one in the room had been intoxicated one way or the other.

"But why?" She whispered cautiously, her eyes darting around as she sought for a way to escape him.

"The owner of this place is a kingpin, don’t you know nothing about where you’ve just entered? Well, allow me to officially welcome you, this is the den of street dealers, bitch." With that, he turned her to face him, however, during their conversation, she managed to grab hold of her hair brush in her bag.

With as much force as she could muster, she slammed its base on his temple, causing him to fall back and yell in pain. In the short time that he pulled away from her, she used her arms to pull away from him as fast as she could. But in spite of her struggle, he regained his composure and charged toward her.

She rose her arms to block her face, in an attempt to wade her face from the highly expected attack. However, the longer she waited, the more she came to realize it was not coming.

She peeped through the space between her

fingers to see what was going on, and to the least of her expectation, before her was a tall and buff looking man who bore her attacker in a grip that twisted his arms out of place.

"Ah! Please, please, sir, mercy," She heard the man plead, with a fervency that made her hairs stand on end. She began to question why she had the reaction in the first place, when there was clearly no reason for her to feel that way.

It must be the alcohol... I must leave this place before I encounter another person.

She thought to herself, leaning forward in an attempt to help herself to her feet. Just as she was about to stand on her feet, she toppled forward, almost crashing into the buff looking man that was still holding her attacker.

But in that moment, someone else walked into her track, causing them both to collide. She braced her hands against hard chest, rippling with muscles and tendons.

"I’m so, so, sorry," she moaned, her fingers nudging gently against the attractive mass of skin underneath cotton.

"It’s okay, as long as you’re safe," a sweetly husky and masculine voice rang deep in her core, much deeper than should’ve been occurring for someone that she did not know.

The moment she became aware of it, her heart started an unsteady rhythm, pounding hard against her chest and resounding in her own ears. Panting heavily, she searched her mind for a reason why she would be reacting in such a way, instinctively, she rose her gaze to meet her protector.

The knight was a man with tough features, a face that never knew genuine happiness, but somehow still appeared to be wearing a smile, beautiful ebony black hair permed up to display his toned features—his eyes, his hazel eyes were like pure jade with a touch of orange under the dancing lights. Those eyes glowed with immense darkness. They were eyes that had seen much evil, that fact was clear.

Was he the person that was being begged for mercy?!

"I see you gaping like you’ve seen an angel, am I that good looking?"

Gosh! He is so full of himself... in a way that appealed weirdly to my senses. She thought to herself, leaning further into his touch.

"Thank youuu," she moaned tiredly, releasing all of her weight as she sought to remain in the arms of the hot stranger.

"Boss, what do we do?" One of the men that followed him, likely his bodyguard, approached him while he asked.

"Leave us for now." The hot stranger replied, his gaze still fixed on the woman in his arms. Without questioning his order, they left the scene.

"I might just be attracted to dominant men," Stella moaned, pushing against his chest, so she could see his face while she spoke. And as expected, curiosity and genuine interest lit up in his eyes as he beheld her.

"What makes you think that way?" He asked, his voice tinged with anticipation.

"Because," She continued, drawing a path on his chest with her index finger while she spoke. "You, my dear sir, are the type of man that I fancy."

"And what type of man might that be?" The man was thoroughly invested at this point. Stella, on the other hand, slipped her hand into his silky locks and began to nudge his face gently towards hers.

Just when their faces were a few inches close, she peered deep into his eyes and spoke what she would later know to be her last seemingly daring words for the night.

"The one who takes what he wants without mercy." After she’d spoken the words, her eyes darted from side to side, as if searching for a reaction to what she knew would be some sort of trigger.

But, the man, whoever he was, remained still, as though he had not just heard the most provocative statement, capable of tilting his control out of balance.
