Beatrix was glad that she didn’t give up on Damien.

Seeing how happy he looked and how determined he was to love her properly warmed her heart.

He must not know how to express his feelings but he had shown her with actions from day one.

He had never been taught how to love properly or had experienced being loved since he was a kid so she knew it was hard for him to grasp his mind around this whole love thing.

Somewhere in his mind he had convinced himself that he was unworthy of being loved and that he wasn’t capable of loving anyone.

But Beatrix was determined to show him that he deserved to be loved like everyone else and he was capable of loving someone too.

And that was exactly what she was planning to do. She was going to show him a love that was patient and accepted him for who he was, while also encouraging him to become the best version of himself.

As Damien’s hands slipped into the back of her hair, Beatrix moaned as her hands reached up to wrap around his neck, pulling him close to her.

Their lips meet in a passionate and reckless kiss, their tongues moving together in a frantic heat .

"Fuck I always thought I was hard to love but you make it seem so easy." he mumbled into the kiss, only pulling his lips back long enough to barely get the words out before they smashed against hers again.

He pulled away from the kiss, breathless after a while and joined his forehead against hers.

"I won’t let you go again."

"Fuck I miss you so much!"

"I didn’t wanna hurt you—I love you so much" he babbled on and chuckled, "I never thought I would say these words but here I am. I think it’s my new favorite words."

Beatrix felt her heart swell with love that she thought would burst.

His eyes flicked over her flushed face, "You love me too right?" He whispered.

Beatrix nodded, too overwhelmed to say anything.

"Then let me hear you say it. Tell me you love me darling." He sounded like he was begging her to say those words like how a thirsty man would begged for water.

Beatrix’s cheeks reddened, "I love you ." She told him gazing into his eyes hoping he would see the sincerity in her eyes.

"You will love me forever right? Never leaving me alone, promise?" He asked, vulnerability thick in his voice.

Beatrix’s heart hurt with how unsure he sounded. She wished she could engraved these words in his memory so that he would always remember that she loved him.

"Of course I do. I told you you’re stuck with me forever so you better get used to me. " She said, smiling softly at him.

A fleeting expression crossed Damien’s face, his brows furrowed together, and it almost looked like guilt for a moment. Beatrix couldn’t understand why.

He sighed and raked his fingers through his hair as his gaze alternated between hers.

"You have no idea how miserable I have been these past few days. I thought I had lost you forever."

Beatrix shook her head, "Naa I’m not going anywhere."

His lips pulled into a lopsided smile and he leaned forward to press a kiss to her lips, tightening his grip on her hips and pulled back to look at her.

"Thanks for not letting me drive you away. I don’t know what I would do without you."

Beatrix squinted at him, giving him a playful scowl

"Yeah well, you’re just lucky I love you"

"Trust me Beatrix... I know" he said, searching his eyes over her features with a look so sincere she felt like she had to hold her breath.

She could see how tired and exhausted he looked. It seemed this had really affected him.

"How have you been?" She furrowed her brows at him.

"Horrible. Rhys wouldn’t even talk to me after he came here. He blamed me for driving you away." Damien sighed.

"Oh my God. How is he? Where is he?" Beatrix asked, concern etched on her face.

Damien shrugged, "I don’t know where he is. He left in the morning. I haven’t heard from him yet."

"I’m going to surprise him when he comes home tonight!"

Damien smiled and nodded, "Alright."

They heard footsteps approaching them and they turned to look at the person.

"Remo-"

Beatrix didn’t get to complete her sentence as his fist connected to Damien’s jaw.

"Remo!" Beatrix shouted as he grabbed her brother at the shoulder to stop him from hitting Damien any further.

"If you let my sister shed another single tear I will be doing more than just this."

He bellowed angrily at Damien.

"Oh my God. Are you alright Damien?"

Beatrix asked worriedly, afraid he was going to have another seizure.

Damien waved his hand as he rubbed his throbbing head, "I’m fine. I guess I deserved it."

He chuckled trying to ease the tension.

"Hmm." Remo hummed in approval.

"I don’t even know what she sees in your ugly ass." Remo spat bitterly

Beatrix glared at Remo and he shrugged, "Have he apologized to you or should I beat the apology out of him?"

Beatrix huffed a frustrated breath, "Remo, you know Damien is still recovering you can’t hurt him."

"It’s okay, I understand he is looking out for you. I’m sorry for everything."

Remo snorted, "Whatever. So have you guys kiss and make up?"

Beatrix blushed at Remo words, "Yeah."

He nodded, "Good. Then I’m leaving. I need to go back home."

"When?" Beatrix questioned.

"Tomorrow, I need to take care of some business."

Beatrix nodded, "Alright. Thank you Remo."

She hugged her brother, at first he stiffened. Beatrix had forgotten he hated any form of affection.

He awkwardly patted her back, "Ermm..okay."

Beatrix pulled back and smiled at him.

"Be good, okay? If you need anything let me know."

Beatrix nodded, "Alright."

Remo glared at Damien before he walked out of the room, leaving them alone.
