Chapter 48 The Country Dubbed the Most Dangerous!
In the cold drink shop, An Liang asked for Machai’s opinion.
Machai responded quickly in Thai, “Mr. An, I believe this matter should be dealt with seriously. Their actions were extremely vile. If we hadn’t come across this incident, your friend might have been in serious danger—possibly even missing or dead.”
He continued, “Thailand is not as safe as people imagine. Our country has long been ranked as one of the most dangerous in the world. Take the capital city Guman, for example—its danger level even surpasses that of Rio de Janeiro and the notorious Mexico City.”
An Liang was truly shocked!
Thailand’s capital, Guman, was actually that dangerous?
And it was indeed true!
Great Britain had already listed Thailand as one of the most dangerous countries in the world. Too many murders and sexual assaults had occurred in Thailand, and most cases ended without proper resolution.
One of the country’s top officials had even made a notorious and outrageous statement.
“If a single, beautiful woman wears a bikini in Thailand, isn’t she asking to be assaulted?”
An Liang stared at the two white guys. He had thought this was just a minor misunderstanding between both parties—but it turned out to be much more serious?
“What do you think should be done?” An Liang asked.
Machai signaled his subordinates to take the two white guys out of the cold drink shop. Only after they were led away did he lower his voice and say, “Thailand’s traffic conditions are terrible. Accidents happen constantly, with car crashes occurring every single day.”
An Liang asked with some concern, “Will there be any trouble?”
“Please rest assured, Mr. An. There will be absolutely no problems. The two of them will be found having overdosed on flour and then dying in a fatal car crash. The police won’t even investigate deeply,” Machai explained.
“You handle it,” An Liang replied casually. “Just do it cleanly, and the company will arrange for the appropriate bonuses.”
Machai smiled with delight.
“Thank you, Mr. An! I’ll go take care of it now, please wait a moment.”
Once Machai had left the cold drink shop, An Liang switched back to speaking in Mandarin and said to Liu Xinyi, “Miss, the problem is resolved. Those two guys misunderstood the situation, but we’ve explained everything. They won’t bother you again.”
He added, “Miss, you need to be careful traveling alone in Thailand—it’s not the safest place.”
Liu Xinyi nodded repeatedly.
“Okay, thank you, little guy.”
“…”
An Liang looked at her speechlessly. How was he a little guy?
“Oh right, little guy, can you walk me back to the hotel? I’m still a bit shaken. I’m flying back home tomorrow. Are you heading back too?” Liu Xinyi asked.
“What time’s your flight tomorrow?” An Liang inquired.
“6 a.m. early flight,” Liu Xinyi replied, sharing the flight details with him.
An Liang shook his head.
“I’m staying two more days. After you’re back home, I’ll try to visit the capital to see you.”
“Great, if you come to the capital, be sure to let me know—I want to thank you properly for your help,” Liu Xinyi replied.
About half an hour later, An Liang walked Liu Xinyi back to her hotel.
Inside her hotel room, Liu Xinyi still looked visibly shaken. Back at the cold drink shop, she had heard every word of the conversation between An Liang and Machai—without missing a beat.
That was right!
Liu Xinyi was fluent in Thai too!
Who exactly is this guy, that he can so casually decide the fate of two people? She wondered privately.
The two white guys had been tracking her—not because she accidentally stumbled upon their deal, but because she had been actively seeking them out, though unfortunately, they discovered her first.
Liu Xinyi was an agent from the National Security Investigation Bureau. She had been following a lead about a flour factory, which pointed directly to Guman, the capital of Thailand. But now that lead was cut off. If not for An Liang, she might have ended up in serious danger!
The two white guys might not have been able to harm her, but what came after could’ve gotten very messy. Liu Xinyi silently made a mental note of An Liang’s information. She didn’t take any rash actions—worried that An Liang might investigate her. What if he wasn’t a good person?
Better safe than sorry!
Xinyi Building, 68th Floor.
In the meeting room of Ren’an Investment Company, Machai was reporting the situation to Song Ren and An Liang.
“The matter with the two white guys has been handled—everything went smoothly, no surprises,” Machai said.
“Including myself, four of us were involved in this operation,” he continued.
“Big bro, I’m planning to give Machai a reward of 1 million Thai baht, and 500,000 baht for each of the other three brothers—deducted from my dividends. Do you think this reward is appropriate?” An Liang asked.
1 million baht was about 220,000 yuan. Not a lot in Greater Xia, but in Thailand, it was a decent sum. Machai’s eyes lit up, looking expectantly at Song Ren.
If Song Ren approved, the reward would be distributed, and he’d receive 1 million baht, while each of his four brothers would get 500,000 baht.
Song Ren nodded.
“Sure! You handled this well. They deserve the reward.”
“Thank you, boss! Thank you, Mr. An!” Machai said excitedly.
