“Ace Lander!” Ava shouted as the yellow eyeball on her innate curse tool shone, gaining his attention. She delivered the punchline, “Congratulations, you will be the first man to taste frozen light.”

“Do we have to fight? Can’t we solve this with a talk?” Lyra asked, finally getting up off the ground.

“Talk?” Sonia scoffed, then she locked her radiant eyes with Lyra’s, adding, “Tell that to hundreds of my companions that your brother killed.”

Before Lyra could even process those words, Sonia pounced on her, prepared to bite her limbs off and leave her with an inch of her life. As a trainee agent, she wasn’t afraid of the consequences that would follow. Even if her victim was Ace’s sister.

Lyra remained calm and focused as Sonia charged at her with claws bared. She swung Fujin through the air with all the speed she could summon, activating its skill Silent Slash and unleashing invisible and quiet wind blades so sharp they could cut through steel, all aimed at Sonia.

Seeing the incoming wind blades, Sonia scoffed and dodged all of them with ease. The wind blades were stealthy and sharp, but they failed before her enhanced senses and speed. Sonia’s grin turned into a sneer as she finally neared Lyra and lunged her right claw, aimed at the center of her neck, while the left claw aimed at her right hip.

Thanks to her wind sensitivity and accelerated speed, Lyra dodged the claw aimed at her neck while she used Fujin to cleanly cut off Sonia’s left wrist. However, to her surprise, no blood came out, nor did the claw fall off. Instead, it proceeded at her hip without any delay, forcing her to use Fumetsu to defend.

Sonia’s left wrist was cut so cleanly by Lyra that it only took under a fraction of a second to attach it back on using her hyper regeneration. That was to say it healed itself just as Lyra was done cutting it. So, she was able to continue her attack without needing to halt. Lyra, who had no idea about Sonia’s recovery abilities, let alone how scary they were, was astonished by the turn of events.

She once again used Fumetsu’s knock-back ability to put some distance between them to gather her thoughts and deduce what had just happened.
