The scroll appeared in his hand as soon as he focused on its mark.

Hex sat in his bed. Despite not having slept for a couple of days, Hex felt fresh and invigorated. He made sure to lock the door before opening his scroll. He even went as far as hiding his hand in his sleeve when summoning the scroll.

To anyone spying on him through obscure means, it would appear as if he pulled the scroll from his robe. It wasn’t paranoia. It was a healthy dose of caution.

Hex sensed the presence of Fiends in the first tunnel as soon as he stepped inside the burrow. But when Bashar said they explored that tunnel, he took a wait-and-see approach. He didn’t know why they acted secretive.

With their endless customs, Hex half expected them to have done it because they didn’t wish to disturb their Lord for something they could solve. It could also be because of something deeper and sinister.

The sole reason Hex hadn’t disappeared yet was because he believed in himself.

He also took precautions due to his lack of understanding about the sandcastle. How did it move? How did the Lord control it? And who protected the castle in the absence of the Lord? Neither he nor Sterling knew these things. He rather be safe than sorry.

Hex was eager to check the content in that category out. As a Refined Knight, he wished to know how to proceed from this point. He also felt some trepidation about it. He rather not change his appearance.

It had nothing to do with preference. He knew how the world treated someone who looked different than the norm. He might not care about people’s opinions but he didn’t like the ridicule either.

Despite wanting to, he didn’t pick the Method category. Not at first. He opened the scroll after such a long time. Since the last time, he even ascended a stage. He decided to browse the categories one by one. First, to check whether the content changed, and second, to check all the subjects related to Heaven and the Divine Lord.

The column disappeared and rows of text appeared on the page. There were many subcategories. Hex checked each one. It would take time but he rather do it well than do it in haste.

Stages

...the number of stages humans ascend nowadays is five. It used to be seven. After the Gods disappeared, Heaven imposed a new limit. Only the most ancient of texts have clues left.

Progression

The average humans are divided into Blessed and Regulars. Some consider Regulars with extraordinary achievements also as Cursed.

The normal Blessed train uses the monoliths to absorb energy. The human body isn’t able to withstand a huge influx of chaotic energy. And the amount of refined energy in the air is too little to make a difference. The monoliths help to refine and boost the energy circulating through humans. The boost helps to open the body to absorb more.

The creation of monoliths and their connection with Heaven is a secret. Only at the Enlightened Stage can you access this information.

Humans require massive amounts of resources to grow in power. The most common resource is the use of crystals found in creatures. There are other resources. Some are mined, some are harvested, and some are produced.

Geography

The world used to have one massive landmass. Water surrounded it. But due to wars, it splintered. It’s still close enough to be considered one continent (for the most part) but there are lakes and seas in between.

Only one giant piece of land remains far in the south. Some believe that to be the origin of life and land.

Powers

The largest and mightiest power is the High Temple. With thousands of Temples spread all over the continent, it has a lot of followers. Their allegiance to Heaven enables their top to reach the Stages that could be compared to the Sin and Taboo stage.

The factions are close behind. The leaders of the Paladins and Warlords are also above the normal stages.

The world has seven Taboos still alive. Further information is available after the Transformed Stage.

History

The world has gone through various periods. These are known as Ages. These Ages end and start with the most significant events in the World’s history.

The Ages are:

Age 1: Age of Creation

Very little is known about this period. There exists no written record of it. Except for the one existence on Wrixia, no one from this period is known to be in the world.

Age 2: Age of Divine

Most of the information about this Age can be found in the Scrolls of Truth. Sadly, only the High Altar and a select few have access to it.

Age 3: Age of Rise

Humans and other creatures started to train and access powers beyond the ones given by the gods.

Age 4: Age of Darkness

Gods disappeared. Darkness refers to the destruction of all written records and the loss of knowledge.

Age 5: Age of Blessing

The current Age. At the end of the fourth Age, Heaven awoke and helped the world out of its darkness.
