The SSS Ranked Villain's Return -
Chapter 369 - 369: Moon
A few minutes passed, and finally, Evangeline let out a sigh and collapsed onto the park bench beside him.
"Okay... it seems like you went through a bit more than I did. Sorry for lashing out at you," Evangeline said sincerely. "Though 209 years? Huh... you're older than I am."
"And how old are you exactly?" Neraxis asked, rolling his eyes.
"I'll have you know I'm in my early 20s." Evangeline pouted. "But hey, I don't mind growing old with you. Though it almost seems like you forgot something."
"The part where I told you I'll get you pregnant? No, I didn't forget." Neraxis chuckled. "We can do it after we're done sorting out some matters."
"You're not going to delay it too long, are you?" Evangeline asked, clenching her fists. "Sorry... I was a bit insensitive. I guess I'm just a little pent up after... you know."
"Well, in my defense, I went nearly 200 years without sex. I'd say we're about even," Neraxis replied teasingly.
Evangeline let out a giggle. "True. I guess we are both a little pent up. You sure you don't just wanna do it on the bench?"
He shook his head. "Of course not. I told you it'd be a special moment. Doing it on the bench is... yeah, it's a bit fucked up."
She shrugged and stood up, a small grin tugging at her lips. "Zaria stayed, by the way. The others did too. Though Amaterasu and Seraphina caught on to the fact that something had gone wrong. I did tell them about it, and they seemed as shocked as I was... but we didn't stop believing that you were alive somewhere."
Evangeline glanced down and spoke in a low tone. "Jane and I searched for any remnant of you that we could find. But after 6 months, I was kicked out of the tower. Turns out there's a limit to how long you can be inside. Though, Jane is likely still searching for you."
"I see..." Neraxis replied. "Which floor did you guys search up to?"
Evangeline met his gaze. "The 50th floor. That's where the difficulty spiked, so we didn't even attempt the 51st floor. We knew that if you weren't on any of those floors, then..."
She sighed. "Anyways... I helped her with the temple stuff. I brought her back there, and she revived a few cardinals. Turns out they were fakes and actually demons, and yeah... I raised my level by a lot."
He raised a brow. "They were fakes? Seriously?"
"Mhm." Evangeline slowly nodded. "All of them had demonic rings on their fingers. Also, there was this mimic vampire I met, he kind of gave it away. Still, Jane didn't listen to me, so she revived them anyways."
"That does sound like Jane." Neraxis chuckled. "Anyhow, I'm glad you're okay. The others too. So shall we head back?"
"About that..." Evangeline scratched her cheek. "Remember Lana and Rara?"
Neraxis nodded. "Yeah. The girl who was an immortal bug. And her sister who was a fighter in another world. I remember the two of them, yeah. Is Rara doing alright?"
"Yep, but the two of them might need our help," Evangeline replied. "A few months ago, I got a distress signal from them, but I couldn't locate them, because... well, I'm not their progenitor, you are."
"So you want me to use my blood to locate them? Seems easy enough..." Neraxis muttered, and in the very next moment, focused his mana.
Just this time, he narrowed it down to those people who had a bit of his blood.
Of course, there was the obvious Elara and his parents. Aurelia was also there. And Cade, the vampire Evangeline had killed, was labeled as dead.
But there was also Lana and Rara.
<The Solarian Vampire Family>
<Progenitor: Neraxis Valen>
<Firstborn Solarian Vampire: Aurelia Solis>
<High Solarian Vampire: Lana Elarin, Rara Elarin>
<Lesser Solarian Vampire: Cade Yang (Dead), Alice D. Windsom (Dead)>
Notably, since the two didn't outright have their names grayed out and weren't written as dead, they were alive.
So with that in mind, he focused again, searching for them. After a few moments, he found them, and to his surprise, they weren't even on this planet. In fact, they were on the moon.
Neraxis's brows furrowed as he inspected what was happening on the moon.
There were a few bases scattered around, and a bunch of robots walking, doing chores.
It seemed like there was no need for oxygen masks, not even the domes to contain the air.
But that was only natural considering everyone up there was awakened. If most could breathe underwater, why not in space?
He turned to Evangeline and extended his hand.
"Want to go stargazing?"
"That's a bit random...?" Evangeline muttered. "But sure. I don't mind. Though we should really find—"
She didn't get to finish her words as he suddenly teleported the two of them. Their destination? The moon.
He appeared a few kilometers above the surface, and he could immediately feel his lungs contract. But he could still breathe pretty easily.
Not that I really need to breathe. I'm a vampire, he chuckled to himself.
Neraxis focused on his blood again, and soon found Lana and Rara's locations. They were together underground, and since the sun didn't reach there, he had no choice but to find a way down.
"T-This is not what I thought would happen when you said we were going to go stargazing," Evangeline said, flustered. "I-I thought you were going to take me to the other side of the continent, lay a blanket, and sing a song while I fall asleep..."
"My singing is nearly as bad as your cooking, Evangeline," Neraxis remarked. "But look on the bright side, there are a bunch of stars here, eh?"
She rolled her eyes and summoned her own pair of red wings.
"I can feel those two now. Should I kill everyone here? Or do you want to do this the pacifistic way?" she asked menacingly.
"We're going to start nice. Depending on the circumstances, we're either going to spare them or kill them all. So be prepared for both," Neraxis replied flatly.
With that, he brought his gaze down to one of the mecha robots below him. It was being controlled by a scrawny man in the very center.
And that would be the first person Neraxis interrogated.
