Chapter 113: Seraphina is Free

......

After spraying her a few more times—just to be extra sure—Eren finally decided he had tortured the poor half-fox demon enough. He purchased a Blood Contract Scroll from the system, similar to the one he’d used on Raven before. But this one was different—it was jet black.

Without wasting time, he quickly wrote down all the terms and conditions, the magical quill in his hand dancing across the scroll like he was signing a grocery list. Once done, he levitated the scroll in front of her, its dark aura glowing faintly in the air.

"Here. Sign it."

Tears still shimmered at the corners of her yellow eyes. Seraphina looked like a drowned cat, soaked in both misery and mist. Her lips trembled, her entire body still shivering slightly from her recent trauma. Sniffing quietly, she began reading through the contract with a deeply annoyed and exhausted expression.

"..."

Her eyes suddenly widened in surprise.

She glanced up at Eren again, brows furrowing. The human boy still wore that same bored expression like he’d rather be playing video games. To which he wish. But what shocked her wasn’t the apathy—it was the contract itself.

The terms... were surprisingly reasonable.

Blood Pact Scroll

Contract Level: 6 Stars

=====

This magic scroll binds two parties together by blood, forming an unbreakable pact until the duration ends or the contractor dies.

Rules and Conditions:

1. Party B (the slave) must always obey Party A (the master) without question. In return, Party A will cover all of Party B’s living expenses.

2. Party B may not betray or harm Party A in any way, directly or indirectly. In return, Party A will offer protection from dangers that Party B cannot handle alone.

3. Party B must never lie to Party A and must share all information she knows. In exchange, Party A will answer any questions Party B asks.

4. When Party A is tired, stressed, or lazy, Party B must attend to them by offering comfort and care.

5. Rules 1–4 may be ignored only if Party A explicitly says so.

6. Party B is forbidden from harming anyone near or close to Party A unless given permission.

Penalty Clause:

If either party breaks any rule listed above, the offender will suffer a strong electric shock on their back. The shock intensity will increase the more one resists.

Contract Duration:

50 years. This contract cannot be broken by magic, divine will, or any external force—except if Party A dies.

Blood Signatures:

Seraphina read it twice. Then a third time, just to make sure she didn’t miss any hidden traps.

Still nothing.

’...This contract is... almost fair?’ She muttered in her mind, almost suspicious. But in the end, she bit her lip, drawing a small bead of blood. With an angry sigh, she let the drop fall onto the scroll.

—Drip!

Eren followed by slicing his thumb and letting his blood touch the scroll as well. The moment both drops made contact, the scroll floated into the air and glowed bright red with magical energy.

—Voooooom—

Seraphina suddenly felt a deep pulse inside her chest, like something invisible had latched onto her soul. She instinctively knew something had changed in her.

Then, a red glowing symbol began to form on her bare back—intertwining like a tattoo shaped from chains. She felt it burn briefly before settling into her skin.

She was now officially bound.

Bound to a lowly human.

Despite that humiliating fact, Seraphina didn’t seem all that panicked. A 50-year contract might seem long, but to a long-lived demon lord like her, it was like... five years, give or take. In fact, she figured that once her strength returned, she could probably overpower the contract with ease.

Eventually.

Her eyes narrowed slightly as she watched Eren casually pluck the scroll from the air and toss it into his inventory.

’He’s definitely underestimating me... I just need time.’

Even as she appeared beaten and weak, plans were already swirling in her mind as she looked at the human boy in silence

Meanwhile, Eren was busy talking to his system inside his head.

’Useless. How do I break these chains?’

A green holographic screen materialized next to Eren as the system responded in its usual monotone.

[The chains can be easily broken with brute force. But the real problem lies in the ancient magic circle beneath her.]

Eren’s brow twitched in confusion, as Useless continues

[Upon analysis, I discovered that the magic circle is what has been suppressing her strength and preventing her from breaking free. Additionally, it’s slowly siphoning her demonic energy, steadily weakening her over time.]

His eyes drifted downward, focusing on the glowing red circle inscribed beneath Seraphina. The sinister markings pulsed ominously, giving off a foreboding light. A sudden thought struck him.

’Where is the energy going?’

[To the Demon Realm.]

Hearing that name again—the Demon Realm—just after finding a similar magic formation outside the dungeon made Eren’s suspicion grow deeper.

The pieces were coming together. Drawing from everything he knew about Valoria Legends, the lore, and even some spoiler knowledge from the game, even though he haven’t finished the end game, the answer was becoming painfully clear.

’So it is that kind of story,’ Eren thought in his mind before asking the system again. ’Then how do I break the circle?’

[You just need to destroy the formation, just like last time. However, due to its demonic origin, I recommend using holy water or a weapon with sacred energy.]

Simple enough.

Without hesitation, Eren purchased a bottle of holy water from the shop menu and immediately poured it over the glowing red magic circle.

–Ssshhhh—

Like water hitting burning oil paint, the red glyphs began to sizzle and fizzle out, vanishing into smoke as the purifying liquid made contact. The circle flickered violently before disintegrating entirely.

Just like in the game. The protagonist also had used his sacred sword to purify the magic circle and free Seraphina.

As the final traces of the formation vanished, Seraphina gasped. Her eyes widened in disbelief as she suddenly felt the weight lift off her body. The suffocating pressure and unnatural weakness faded. Her limbs no longer felt like lead. Her strength was returning.

Slowly but surely, she pushed herself off the ground. She staggered at first, legs trembling slightly, but she managed to rise. Though the chains still bound her wrists to the twin stone pillars, there was now a fire in her eyes and hope.

"Try breaking it," Eren said, arms folded as he stood back and observed.

She glanced at the metal cuffs, then clenched her fists. With a determined glint in her eye, she pulled gently at first.

—Creak.

The faint sound of metal straining echoed through the dungeon. Encouraged, she pulled harder.

—CRACK! BOOM!

With an explosive roar, the chains shattered into fragments, and the two stone pillars erupted into rubble. A surge of raw, untamed demonic energy erupted from her body. Black-purple aura coiled around her like a serpent, fierce and wild. Eren’s eyes narrowed as he sensed the intensity.

Unlike when she released her demonic energy and Aura at him when he first entered, this time, she was on her true and full strength—without the magical restraint.

"Finally," Seraphina exhaled, a wide, almost feral grin spreading across her face. Her fist clenched tightly, the dark aura swirling around her arm like a predator off its leash.

"I’m free..." She murmured in a low voice.

...Well, sort of. Technically, she was still bound by the blood contract and had to serve the human standing before her.

Her yellow eyes shifted to Eren, who was... staring into space?

She tilted her head, unsure of what he was looking at.

In truth, Eren was going through a series of blinking notifications that had just popped in front of him.

Eren stared blankly at the overly dramatic quest description and the extra comments.

’Seriously... what’s wrong with the system’

This wasn’t even Useless, the system’s AI—it was the system itself. And it was being strangely weird again.

—Bzz-

Just then, Eren heard a sound that made him turn his gaze from the system’s screen panel. But then his eyes widen as he saw Seraphina appear right in front of him, eyes glowing, and her hand raised, as it covered in demonic claw, ready to strike.

"EXTRA"

In the dark, cold chamber where the former Demon Lord was sealed, both Useless and Seraphina—who is still chained on her knees—stared in horror at the black-haired boy before them who was busy doing something that radiated pure, sinister atmosphere around him.

Eren wore a long white lab coat, a strange pair of brass goggles pushed up on his eyes, and a black nose plugs that sealed his nostrils tight. In front of him stood a rectangular table, and on it bubbled a small iron cauldron, hissing and gurgling like a living creature. Its contents churned—a foul, murky green sludge swirling ominously with each stir.

With a long wooden spoon in one hand and a wide, manic grin on his face, Eren tossed ingredients into the mixture—each more absurd than the last—appearing in his hand from seemingly nowhere.

A dried mushroom that twitched as it was alive.

An eyeball.

Some leftover food.

A rotten eggs.

A spoonful of honey.

A dead flowers and herbs.

A Tiny bones, with a small skull?! (Not knowing with being it belongs too)

A pink, glittery powder?

A dead frog?

A melted dead slime monster?

A hunk of rotting cheese... with a dead Rat on top of it?!!!!

A dirty sock?!!!

An big dirty Underwear?!!!

And... a Live Skunk!!!!!!!!?

But instead of tossing the poor creature in, Eren calmly pulled out a massive syringe, stabbed it in the rear, and extracted a cloud of its toxic green gas fart. The skunk let out a heart-wrenching squeal before Eren flung it aside. The creature waddled off, whimpering in pain.

Useless, watching all this, felt its internal circuits is glitching from and unable to proses what it saw, feeling completely dumbfounded.

[Where did Master even get that thing? The system’s shop doesn’t sell living creatures... does it?]
