Chapter 68: Chapter 68: To Be Used as a Brick
"If you drop it again, don’t expect me to pick it up for you." Gu Qili couldn’t tolerate it anymore, warning him, clearly thinking it was intentional.
"Where are you going?" Mu Shuoqian casually picked up a file and flipped through it.
"Going back to my room to do some problems."
"Not using the tablet anymore?"
Gu Qili seemed to be reminded, indeed she didn’t bring the dictionary, which for people studying foreign languages like them, is like half a personal teacher.
"Move your things to my study." Dropping that sentence, Mu Shuoqian had already gotten up and left.
Looking at the stack of thick files, Gu Qili had no choice but to swallow her anger and carry them to his study, knowing all too well that letting her stay here was never going to be good, look, he’s bossing her around all the time.
Feeling annoyed, she naturally didn’t have a pleasant expression, violently slamming those files onto the desk, venting her dissatisfaction with a loud noise: "Done moving."
He was starting up the computer, and coldly said: "Bring your exercises here too."
"Why?"
"Not using the tablet anymore?" The same phrase, instantly defeating her.
Gu Qili had long noticed that idle tablet, "I’ll take it back to my room to use."
He didn’t even lift his eyelids: "I need it too."
Ah, you already have a computer, why do you need a tablet as well.
But could she reason with Mu Shuoqian? Obviously, that wouldn’t be a wise choice. Left with no other options, Gu Qili had to go back to her room and move her exercise books and textbooks over.
His desk was wide and large, he sat in the middle, leaving a vast space beside him.
Gu Qili brought over a chair and sat at the other end, spreading her books across the table, she took out a pen from her pencil case and started working on the problems.
Clearly, Mu Shuoqian wasn’t pleased with her messy way of spreading things around like a street vendor, but he just frowned, glanced at it, and said nothing; he grabbed a file and started reading seriously.
Gu Qili constantly used the tablet to look up words, her pen swiftly dancing on the workbook. By the time she finished a workbook, it was almost noon, she straightened up and stretched, only then noticing that the files needing Mu Shuoqian’s approval were almost done as well.
He was bent over, back straight, one arm resting on the desk, his slender fingers holding a pen, signing his name on the white paper with concentration.
From this angle, his nose was sharp, his chin slightly pointed, and his hair at the back of his head was neatly trimmed, every detail meticulous.
She rested her chin on her hands, got lost staring at him, until she felt a deep gaze directed at her, with a hint of mockery and smugness.
Gu Qili quickly averted her gaze, feeling extremely embarrassed. She had been caught staring, and it’s all because he was too handsome, with his distinct sharp features, each on their own exquisitely detailed, combined they were simply a masterpiece.
Truly a national disaster.
She scoffed inwardly, and to ease the awkwardness, Gu Qili boldly stretched her neck, questioning: "Didn’t you say you needed the tablet?"
The entire morning had passed, and he hadn’t touched the tablet even once, it was always her using it.
Mu Shuoqian seemed thoughtful, under her watchful gaze, he took the tablet from her hands and pressed it down on a file.
It was a hot midday, the window behind them was open, a sea breeze from not far away gently blew in, dispersing much of the heat.
He continued to correct files as if nothing had happened, and said, "It’s windy, using it to press down papers."
A several thousand-dollar computer just to be used as a brick?
Gu Qili almost spat blood, living with someone like this, she felt she might die from anger sooner or later. **
