Chapter 51: Chapter 51: What Does This Slap Count For?

"Did you just see that Maybach 62?"

"I did, do you know them?" Gu Qili asked curiously.

Chen Yishu spread his hands and then stuffed them into the pockets of his jeans, the sunlight dancing on his brows, his face with its distinct angles was especially gentle.

"That should be the Second Young Master of Mu Family’s car; I remember the license plate but not the person." He looked straight ahead, walking steadily as if imparting knowledge, "Mu Family is the most powerful family in Aus City, almost monopolizing the entertainment industry here. You know, the entertainment industry is the pillar of Aus City, so the very ground we’re walking on has Mu Family’s share in it. These swimming and tennis courts, more than half of them were donated by the Mu Family. That’s why the principal greets him as if welcoming the God of Wealth, and most importantly, he is still single."

Gu Qili gave an ’oh’, seemingly not too surprised. As for how rich Mu Shuoqian was, or how powerful the Mu Family was, she probably knew it better than anyone else.

"You’re not curious at all?" Her composed face surprised Chen Yishu, "Don’t you girls love the wealthy and domineering CEOs the most?"

Gu Qili smiled: "Too many wolves and not enough meat."

Chen Yishu pondered: "Qili, are you still angry?"

He added: "I heard about the incident that day from the nurse, so I came today specially to apologize on behalf of my parents."

Gu Qili stopped walking, her lips curled into a smile at him: "They were right, I am to blame for your injury, so it’s only natural for them to vent a few words of anger."

"But the nurse said my dad hit you." Chen Yishu was anxious; although the marks on her face had long disappeared, in his eyes, they still hurt his heart. He truly regretted not being there at the time, failing to protect her immediately.

"It’s okay, what’s a slap compared to your wound, it really wasn’t painful at all," Gu Qili spoke guiltily, "I haven’t visited you at the hospital these days because I was afraid of troubling you further. Your parents don’t like me, they definitely wouldn’t be happy to see me. What did the doctor say, are your injuries really all better? Or did you sneak out of the hospital?"

She knew Chen Yishu’s personality the best; he loved freedom, disliked constraints, and was particularly opinionated.

Chen Yishu flexed his arm, his muscular biceps peeking out beneath his rolled-up sleeve, proudly showing off to Gu Qili: "Look at these muscles, I’m healing incredibly fast, even the doctor said I’m strong as an ox."

Gu Qili was well aware that burns, even when healed, could leave scars, like a flaw on otherwise flawless porcelain. And Chen Yishu was that exquisite piece of porcelain - the guilt made her restless.

"Geez, you’re usually so forthright, how come you’re being coy now? I already told you, I’m a man, a scar might even make me look cooler. Besides, it’s on my back, you can’t see it unless I take off my shirt, and I don’t usually go around shirtless. Except for myself, no one else has a chance to see it." Suddenly, he winked, "If you want to see it, though, I can show you anytime."

Gu Qili gave him an annoyed look; what a time to joke around. However, his words did manage to relax her tense mood quite a bit.

"Qiqi." Mickey happened to come out with his backpack and saw the two of them from a distance.

"Chen Yishu, playing the guardian angel again?" Mickey teased, smiling, "Is your injury healed yet? The stories of your heroic rescue are quite sensational, you know."

Chen Yishu felt a little embarrassed, quickly changing the subject: "Are you heading to class?"

"Yeah." Mickey naturally linked arms with Gu Qili, "Qiqi, I’ve got your books, let’s head straight to class, or we’ll be late."

"Speaking of books, that reminds me, I’ve bought the one you were looking for last time, haven’t had the chance to give it to you." Chen Yishu pulled out a French book from his bag and handed it to Gu Qili. He scratched his head and hesitated a moment before saying: "Qili, I’ll wait for you in the library tonight, I have something to tell you."

Gu Qili nodded: "Coincidentally, I have something to talk to you about, too."

"It’s a deal then, don’t stand me up." Chen Yishu waved his hand and left cheerfully.
