The Scheming Ex-Husband's Courtship -
Chapter 106: Always Intolerant
Chapter 106: Chapter 106: Always Intolerant
Gu Qili was not a heartless person, but Guan Zhe’s actions were too despicable. If she let him off today, he certainly wouldn’t do the same for her.
Sometimes showing mercy to others is cruelty to oneself. Everyone’s wearing tinted glasses and without fiery golden eyes, you can’t distinguish which one is truly a wolf in sheep’s clothing.
Having learned from the lesson of Hu Jiaojiao, she now saw things very clearly.
As for Qi Meihui, she had thoroughly offended her, but she didn’t care.
Back at Jingshan, Xiao Ran had been waiting outside for a long time. Seeing their return, he respectfully greeted them.
In his hand, Xiao Ran held a folder that seemed to contain important matters to report. After Gu Qili made them tea, she went to her room to read.
The documents Xiao Ran brought were recruitment materials from the Pujing Group for the Australian University. The Human Resources department had already drafted them, and they were just awaiting his review and signature.
This recruitment was on a large scale, involving positions from management to restaurant and hotel waitstaff.
Mu Shuoqian sipped his tea and, after reading thoroughly from start to finish, didn’t sign immediately. Instead, he picked up his pen and added a line behind the CEO’s office column: Translator.
Xiao Ran remembered, he was not in need of a translator, and also remembered that Gu Qili was a highly skilled professional.
After securing the documents, Xiao Ran said, "I’ll go and ask the HR manager to arrange it."
Upon receiving the CEO’s endorsement, the HR manager was utterly confused since the CEO’s office wasn’t short on translators. The current one had been working well for five to six years, mostly accompanying department managers during business trips, rather than traveling much with Mu Shuoqian.
However, since the CEO personally added the word ’Translator’, the HR manager couldn’t neglect it and immediately called Xiao Ran to ask for details.
Xiao Ran couldn’t just outright state that Young Master Qian had his eyes set on Gu Qili, as that would damage his image of selflessness, so after careful thought, Xiao Ran enlightened: "Actually, there are just three conditions: one, long hair, fair skin, big eyes, and outstanding appearance; two, a top student from the academy; three, not a lady from a wealthy family, with an average family background."
The HR manager diligently took note—such a person should not be hard to find. He guessed that the CEO must have someone he favored in mind and he had to keep his eyes peeled for the right candidate.
Gu Qili estimated the time to start cooking dinner. Mu Shuoqian wasn’t in the living room, so she checked his study and he wasn’t there either. After calling out twice outside the bathroom, there was no response from him.
She almost jumped for joy, thrilled that he wasn’t home. This meant she could relax and didn’t have to cook. There was bread and milk in the fridge, which could be cobbled together for a meal.
With a slice of bread in her mouth, Gu Qili lay comfortably on the sofa, turned on the TV, and it just so happened that an entertainment news was on. Seeing the familiar face on the screen, she silently took another bite of her bread and continued to watch the excitement.
"Today, someone leaked photos on Weibo showing Deng Feifei before plastic surgery, along with several indecent photos. It has been confirmed that Deng Feifei underwent cosmetic surgery before her debut, despite insisting publicly that she’s a natural beauty. The male lead from the indecent photos has also been identified through the internet as an up-and-coming film director. Reporters have tried to contact him, but his phone remains off."
Gu Qili picked up her tablet to search online, and Deng Feifei had become a hot topic. Seeing those photos, she indeed looked different from her current appearance, likely from her junior high school years, still naive.
The indecent photos, despite the mosaics, were not difficult to recognize as explicit.
Deng Feifei had just offended Mu Shuoqian, and immediately after, she was exposed. Gu Qili couldn’t help but link the two incidents together.
Mu Shuoqian was not known for being magnanimous, even quite petty in fact, and no one understood that better than her.
