Chapter 21: (18+, Trigger alert) Jean’s last hope

Darkness...

There was no air. No sky. Just a heavy, suffocating darkness.

Jean couldn’t feel her body anymore, but her mind... her mind was trapped.

She was seventeen again. Back in the dorm hallway she avoided for years. The dim lighting. The distant music echoing from someone’s room. And him... Tyler Dominic with the charming smile and a hand that always lingered too long.

"Tyler," she trembled in fear. "Please let me go." She had said no. More than once. But no one heard her.

No one wanted to hear her.

He was popular. Trusted. The golden boy.

She remembered the way the door clicked shut. The way her heart hammered in her chest. The way she froze, her body refusing to move, her voice stolen from her throat.

"I have told you so many times that we should go out as a couple but you didn’t listen." He said taking slow steps towards her. "I wanted to be gentle with you Jean, I liked you so much but you just never gave me a chance!"

Jean groaned, as her head started to feel numb. She knows he drugged her, she could feel the strength leaving her body.

"Shh, just let me feel you for tonight, okay love?" Tyler grabbed her by her waist and pushed her to the bed.

"No!" She protested but it was all futile. Tyler hastily undid her clothes, almost tearing the fabric and she could feel her dignity tear up in shreds.

He grabbed her hands and pinned them over her head. Jean could barely breath as his disgusting mouth latched onto hers. His hands felt like a harsh rag freely roaming on her skin.

Her heart pounded loud when she heard the belt clinking. The undoing of the zip of his pants. "No Tyler, please stop."

"It’s going to be over very soon, just keep quiet!" He snapped at her as he started to position himself.

His fingers hooked onto her last piece of fabric and tore it down to reveal her completely down there. He positioned himself before her and a sinister smile grew on his face.

That was the last image she could remember because after all she knows is how her world crumbled.

She screamed.

Tyler destroyed her innocence. He tore her soul apart and she couldn’t do anything.

Her vision was blinded by black, she could barely breathe. The pain surged throughout her body. Her legs became lifeless but so was every inch of her body.

He took pleasure in violating her. All the way and in every way he could.

It was over.

Or so she thought.

Suddenly it became even harder to breathe, maybe because he turned her body over and pleased himself, her face was now buried into the bed? She can’t tell. But the pain took over her senses again. This time more aggressively...

It burned like hundreds of wounds.

It pained like thousands of broken bones.

And when it was over, he laughed. "You should take it as a compliment that I touched you."

That moment shattered her. And no matter how many layers of power, success, and poise she wrapped around herself, some part of her was always stuck there... in that room, beneath that smirk, beneath his weight.

And now here she was again, unable to move. Unable to breathe.

Drowning like a soul less flesh.

Powerless.

"Jean... please."

The voice was faint... desperate... familiar.

There was a certain warmth in it.

"Don’t do this. Don’t you dare give up on me."

Who’s calling?

Did someone finally come here to save me?

Logan wiped at his eyes, he wasn’t even sure if it was the rain or his tears anymore. Then he bent again, gave one last desperate breath, and suddenly...

She coughed.

It was faint. Just a twitch of her lips, then a strangled gasp as water spilled from her mouth.

Logan froze.

He grabbed her, gently turning her to her side as she coughed and wheezed, her body finally fighting back.

"Oh, thank God," he whispered, cradling her against him as her breathing returned in short, shallow bursts. "You’re okay. You’re okay..."

But his arms didn’t loosen. Not for a second.

He wasn’t letting her go.

Emma’s heels clicked hurriedly against the wooden floor, her eyes scanning every corner. "She’s not in the lounge, not near the bar, not even with the guests," she said, her voice tight with concern.

Henry, walking beside her, nodded grimly. "And Logan’s missing too. This isn’t right."

Just then, a piercing scream sliced through the stormy air... desperate and ragged.

"JEAN!"

"That’s Mr Kingsley ’s scream." Henry told her. "Come on, we need to check!"

The deck fell into sudden silence, all music and chatter drowned by the shrill voice. Heads turned. People rushed to the direction of the sound.

Emma and Henry broke into a sprint.

Mr. Kim, who had been in a conversation nearby with his staff about the disappearance of his guests, immediately followed with a furrowed brow, a glass of champagne still in hand. When they reached the rear deck, the sight before made them freeze in place.

Junho was dragging himself out of the deck, soaked to the bone, his hair plastered to his face, clothes disheveled. He was breathing heavily, leaning slightly to one side like he’d just fought off a wild current. His eyes were wide with fear and panic.

"Junho?" Mr. Kim’s voice was sharp, more puzzled than concerned. "What happened to you? Why are you wet?"

For a moment, Junho looked like he’d been caught off guard. But then his expression shifted, molding into a careful mimic of alarm. "Logan and Jean," he said, acting with his chest heaving. "They were on the back deck... arguing with each other... and then the storm... It came so fast. A huge wave hit and..." he dragged a hand down his face, "they were gone."

Emma’s hands flew to her mouth. "No... no, that can’t be!" She pushed past him and ran to the railing, Henry right behind her.

They stared out into the angry sea, hoping... praying... to catch any trace of their bosses.

Behind them, Mr. Kim didn’t move.

His eyes stayed locked on Junho. Studying him.

The faint red mark on his neck. The stiffness in his posture. And the hint of something behind his eyes that wasn’t grief but caution.

He didn’t say anything. Not yet.

But Mr. Kim had been in business long enough to know when someone was lying through their teeth.

"Go to your room Junho, and change your clothes. Wait for me inside and don’t even think of sneaking out." Mr Kim snarled at him. "Tell me you got it?"

Junho nodded, sheepishly. "Yes dad, I got it." But internally he cursed himself again and again.

Nothing gets past my Dad. Before it’s too late, I’ll delete the footage now!
