Chapter 333: Chapter 333: Going To The Auction
So, Bai Xifeng, Bai Xiang and Bai Tingfeng went to the Shanghai Pavillion one hour before the auction started. Since it had been a while since Shanghai Pavillion held the auction, many people were coming to see what kind of treasure Shanghai Pavillion had this time. They all came to attend the auction.
They had to park their carriage somewhere else and walk to the entrance of the Shanghai Pavillion. Because many people wanted to attend the auction, they needed to line up to enter the auction.
People needed to show the invitation card to the guard. They failed to do so, and they were not allowed to enter. The three Bai Family went lined up as well.
In front of the line, there was a middle-aged man. He probably was the same age as Bai Xiang. He turned around and saw Bai Xiang. He was surprised to see Bai Xiang.
"Your Excellency, what are you doing here?" The middle-aged man asked Bai Xiang.
Bai Xifeng looked at the middle-aged man like he was an idiot. ’What does he think we coming here?’ She turned to Bai Tingfeng and asked something.
"Big Brother, who is he?" Bai Xifeng asked.
"Oh, he is Sir Zhou Huizhong. Another general of Liuyin Empire." Bai Tingfeng explained.
"Oh, the useless general." Bai Xifeng spoke.
"I just heard yesterday that you don’t have an invitation card for this auction. Then, what are you doing here? Do you think you can enter without an invitation card? Or are you thinking of using your strength to force them to allow you to attend this auction without the invitation card?" Zhou Huizhong asked.
"You..." Bai Xiang narrowed his eyes.
"Help, General Bai wants to beat me up after I expose his plan." Zhou Huizhong shouted.
This attracted the Shanghai Pavilion Guards. They rushed over. People began to watch.
"What is going on here?" The guard asked.
"He tried to attend without any invitation card." Zhou Huizhong pointed his finger at Bai Xiang.
The guards turned to Bai Xifeng. They wanted to listen to both of the sides before making the decision.
"I already asked him. He answered it by saying that he did not have an invitation card. But now he is here. I assume he wants to force his way in." Zhou Huizhong interrupted.
"Sir, we are not asking you. So, please let him answer it." The guard said to Zhou Huizhong.
Zhou Huizhong shut his mouth. The guards looked at Bai Xiang again.
"I did say that before." Bai Xiang said.
Zhou Huizhong interrupted again. "See. I told you so." He smirked.
"But I think it was two days ago. But I do have an invitation card." Bai Xiang said.
"Impossible. There is no way that you can get the invitation card right before the auction day. You must be lying." Zhou Huizhong snorted.
"Sir, can I take a look at your invitation card?" The guard asked politely.
"Sure." Bai Xiang nodded.
Bai Xiang took out the invitation cards. Three of them. "Three of them for my children and me."
Zhou Huizhong suddenly laughed. "Your Excellency, you can not be serious."
"What?" Bai Xiang glanced at Zhou Huizhong.
"The colour of the invitation card is red. Why the cards that you have are gold?" Zhou Huizhong asked while laughing.
"Sir, please follow me. We will have you enter the hall right now. No need for you to line up like this." The guard suddenly said that.
Zhou Huizhong stopped laughing when he heard the guards talk like that. "What? Why can he enter the auction? It is clear that the invitation card that he has is the fake one." He questioned the guard.
"The normal invitation card’s colour is indeed red. But the invitation card that His Excellency has is gold colour. This indicates His Excellency is an esteemed guest. Not many people could get it." The guard explained.
Everyone who listened to the explanation was shocked especially Zhou Huizhong.
"Sir Bai, please follow me. I will guide you inside." The guard said.
Without saying anything to Zhou Huizhong, Bai Xiang walked past Zhou Huizhong followed by his children. Bai Xifeng snorted at Zhou Huizhong who looked pale. ’Dare to pick up a fight with my father. Humph!’
The guards brought Bai Xiang and his children to a room. People could tell it was a luxury room for auction.
"Please enter this room. This room is specifically for the super esteemed guest." The guard said.
"Thank you." Bai Xiang nodded.
The guard left the room leaving the three of them. Bai Xiang turned to look at Bai Xifeng.
"Xixi, do you know about the invitation card? How they are different from others?" Bai Xiang asked.
"No. I don’t. I just asked Sir Si to give me three invitation cards. I don’t know if there are other colours." Bai Xifeng shook her head.
She really did not know about that. She never asked that. At the last auction, she had been invited directly, no invitation card was required.
"I see." Bai Xiang understood that.
"Well, let’s enjoy ourselves too." Bai Xifeng grinned.
Not long after that, there was a knock on the door. Bai Tingfeng stood up and opened the door.
"Yes?" Bai Tingfeng asked while looking at the man outside.
"I am the manager of this Shanghai Pavilion’s branch, Si Ji Huang. Nice to meet you." Si Ji Huang bowed.
"Oh, come in." Bai Tingfeng invited Si Ji Huang to come inside the room.
