Chapter 200: Chapter 200: Want Her To Serve The Royal Family
Heading Kingdom
"Is that true that Bai Xiang managed to break through?" Zou Shun, the second prince of the Hediong Kingdom was surprised to hear the news.
"Yes, Your Highness." The messenger stated.
"What is your opinion about this matter, Teacher?" Zou Shun asked his teacher.
Han Changpu, the second in command laughed. His eyes were shining as he heard the news.
"Wow, I really want to fight with a Nascent Soul cultivator." Han Changpu smacked the table.
Zou Shun knew that his teacher would say something like that.
"Don’t suddenly go to find him." Han Tingguang, the general of Hediong Kingdom reminded his younger brother, Han Changpu.
Han Changpu was someone who liked to fight a strong opponent. He joined the military just because of that reason.
"I know." Han Changpu clicked his tongue.
"So, he succeeds." Han Tingguang sighed.
"What do you think he would do after this, General Han?" Zou Shun asked.
"If we talk about the old Bai Xiang, he might stay out of the problem. However, we are talking about the new Bai Xiang right now. He is strong. And no one could stop him if he wants to attack others." Han Tingguang said.
"Then, what do you think about how another country would react to this news?" Zou Shun asked.
"Cailing Country might be back off from attacking the Liuyin Empire from now on. However, the Yue Kingdom might think differently." Han Tingguang stated.
"Why are you saying that?" Han Changpu was kind of confused.
"Because Cailing Country used to have someone who managed to break through into Nascent Soul Realm but something happened and that cultivator killed everyone in the royal family and the minister family. They knew what would happen if they pissed off the Nascent Soul Realm cultivator.
However, it was not the same in Yue Kingdom. From what I got from our spies, there is a new deputy. He did not think much about the Nascent Soul Realm cultivator and thought that he would fight a Nascent Soul Realm cultivator with several soldiers." Han Tingguang scoffed.
"Well, they do have a large number of soldiers right now." Zou Shun remembered that.
"In war, number is not always going to win. We need strength and strategies." Han Tingguang said.
"Yes. That is right." Zou Shun stated.
"Anyway, let’s report to His Majesty first about this." Han Tingguang said.
He looked at his brother, Han Changpu. "Changpu, you will go back to the Imperial City and report this news to His Majesty."
Han Changpu frowned. "Huh? Why me?" He did not want to go back there.
"Just go. It is an order." Han Tingguang looked at his brother.
"Alright... Alright..." Han Changpu said.
...
Liu Longwei arrived at the military camp with a messenger from the Capital City.
The messenger brought a letter from the emperor to Bai Xiang. It was regarding the talented alchemist.
Liu Longwei looked at the entrance. Inside this place, his fiance was there. He wondered how was she doing right away.
Liu Lan laughed at him after knowing he had been sent to the military camp. He was not angry at that idiot since he also aimed to come here. To be honest, he was grateful to Liu Lan for giving this punishment. This way, he could be with his fiance openly.
The messenger approached the soldiers arrogantly.
"Hey, open this gate...I am a messenger from His Majesty." The messenger stated.
The soldiers looked at the messenger like looking at an idiot. After that, they ignored him completely.
"Hey, you! Do you hear me? I am His Majesty’s messenger." The messenger shouted.
Liu Longwei also felt like this man was an idiot. He wondered how this man got his job as a messenger in the first place.
"If you are a messenger from His Majesty, you should know the protocol. Please show us the token." The soldiers glared at the messenger.
The soldiers emitted a murderous aura. Well, they were soldiers who went to war before. They killed people before. No wonder they were looking murderously dangerous.
The messenger forgot about that. It was so embarrassing for him. He slowly took out the token as the messenger and showed it to the soldiers. He began to feel proud again.
The soldiers looked at the token. Both of them nodded at each other. One of them went inside.
"Hey, where do you want to go?" The messenger wanted to follow the soldier who went inside.
However, he had been blocked by the sword that had been held by another soldier.
"Stop there. My partner would call someone. He would verify the token." The soldier stated.
"What? Do you think I am lying to you?" The messenger pointed his finger at the soldier.
"Sir, you better stop pointing your finger at me if you don’t want to lose it." The soldier glared sharply at the messenger.
The messenger gulped. He quickly put his finger down.
"We need to verify that because lately there are a lot of spies that want to enter our military camp. The security has to be tightened up. That’s all." The soldier stated.
The messenger gritted his teeth holding back his anger. When he met Bai Xiang, he would place a complaint about the soldier under Bai Xiang.
Not long after that, the soldier who went inside had returned with someone else. The person asked for the token to be verified.
The messenger showed it to the person. After looking thoroughly at the token, he nodded.
"The token is genuine." The person said.
The messenger snorted. ’Of course, it is genuine.’
"Please follow me. And who is this?" The person looked at Liu Longwei and his aide.
"Oh, that is the famous third prince and his aide." The messenger snorted while looking down on the third prince and his aide.
The third prince had offended the fourth prince and the Noble Consort Furen. That was why he was here.
"The emperor ordered him to come and stay here for a period as a punishment." The Messenger explained.
"Oh, I see. Come in." The person said.
The person escorted the messenger to meet General Bai. The messenger finally saw Bai Xiang and Bai Tingfeng.
"General Bai." The messenger greeted Bai Xiang.
"Why do you come here?" Bai Xiang asked.
After knowing what his daughter had been suffered in the Capital City, he did not have any good feelings toward the people from there.
The messenger took out the decree. Everyone kneeled down immediately. However, Bai Xiang and Bai Tingfeng were still stood up. The messenger frowned.
"General Bai, Junior General Bai, what are you doing, still standing up? Quickly kneel down on the royal decree." The messenger said.
Bai Xiang and Bai Tingfeng looked at each other.
"Are you serious asking us to do that?" Bai Tingfeng asked.
"Huh?" The messenger was confused. They should be kneeling.
"I understand that you are young and did not know about this." Bai Xiang said.
"What?" The messenger was still confused. ’Is there anything else that I don’t know about?’
"My descendant from me and I don’t have to kneel down to the emperor or any of the royal family members." Bai Xiang stated.
The messenger was shocked. However, when he was thinking for a while, he remembered that.
"Please announce the royal decree." Bai Xiang said.
The messenger coughed several times to clear his throat.
"His Majesty ordered the talented alchemist to come to the capital city to fulfil his duty for the Liuyin Empire." The messenger stated.
Bai Xiang and Bai Tingfeng frowned. What did he just say? Talented alchemist? Even the soldiers around frowned.
The emperor asked for that alchemist who helped them to increase their strength to protect the country to be an alchemist exclusively for the royal family only. No way.
"What do you mean by that?" Bai Xiang said.
"General Bai, the emperor knows that you have a talented alchemist to begin with. The emperor wanted him to go to the Capital City and serve the royal family. He would be known as the royal alchemist." The messenger felt it was a great honour to serve the royal family.
However, it was not the same as Bai Xiang and others thought. They looked at Bai Xiang and waited for his answer. Well, they were hoping that Bai Xiang would not give the alchemist to the royal family just like that.
