The Rising Phoenix -
Chapter 188: Successfully Advance
Chapter 188: Chapter 188: Successfully Advance
His eyes looked at Bai Tingfeng who was in the middle of the spiritual Qi’s circle. As Bai Xifeng said, Bai Tingfeng was already in the Middle-Rank Cold Core Realm. It seemed the process was still going on.
They did not know how long the process would be. The night arrived. Bai Xiang ordered some of the people to guard his son in case someone from other countries came to attack his son.
Bai Xifeng called Gryffindor out. She wanted to put an array around Bai Tingfeng. She did not want people to know her ability as an array master. Since they already thought that Gryffindor was responsible for the array last time, she thought about using that fact to fool others.
Everyone was surprised to see the beast out. There were some people who did not know about this and stumbled down.
"Why do you call me?" Gryffindor asked.
Bai Xifeng grinned. "I need you to act along."
"Act what?" Gryffindor tilted his head.
"Act like you are making the array around my brother." Bai Xifeng stated.
"Hmm... Sure... I think I can act like that." Gryffindor nodded.
Bai Xifeng was someone who was quite generous with her pills. He could eat pills every day. Helping her was nothing. He was willing to do so.
Bai Xifeng told him what he needed to do. He nodded. Then, he flew up. Because of his actions, everyone’s eyes were on him. Bai Xifeng smiled. It was the effect that she wanted.
Since none of the people looking at her, Bai Xifeng started the preparation to make the array. She seemed to focus and did not realize that someone was watching her. However, he did not say anything. It was the place to ask her.
Bai Xifeng finally finished the preparation. She signaled Gryffindor to show off more. Gryffindor followed her order. Bai Xifeng activated the array. Gryffindor danced in the air as the array appeared around Bai Tingfeng as he was the one who made the array.
"Wow, that beast is making the array." Someone shouted.
Bai Xifeng smiled. It was the effect that she wanted. People would think that Gryffindor was the array master.
After the array activated, Gryffindor flew down and went back to Bai Xifeng’s side. His look seemed to want Bai Xifeng to praise his work.
Bai Xifeng smiled and threw two pills to Gryffindor. Gryffindor quickly caught the pills with his mouth. He was satisfied with the rewards.
People were dumbfounded to see Gryffindor swallowed the pills. That young boy seemed not to care about the pills. As expected the alchemists.
People believed this young boy asked the beast to make an array to protect Bai Tingfeng. No wonder Bai Tingfeng seemed to like him.
Bai Xifeng and Bai Xiang returned to Bai Xiang’s room. Bai Xifeng planned to return to the pill room but was stopped by her father.
"What is it, Father?" Bai Xifeng asked.
"Are you an array master too?" Bai Xiang directly asked.
Bai Xifeng was stunned as she heard the question. She did not expect her father would ask that question.
"Well..." Bai Xifeng looked away.
"I hope you will be telling the truth and not hide it." Bai Xiang stated.
"Yes. I am an array master too." Bai Xifeng decided to tell the truth to her father.
She was sure that her father would not tell others about this. Her father would protect her.
"I see." Bai Xiang nodded. He was satisfied that his daughter was willing to tell the truth.
"How do you know?" Bai Xifeng asked.
"You call that beast out to make a show. People would look at the beast and it would be easy for you to make the preparation for the array. The reason I know is because I was looking at you." Bai Xiang said.
"Oh... I thought everyone was watching Gryffindor and no one paid attention to me." Bai Xifeng grinned.
"A pharmacist, an alchemist, an array master, what else you got under your sleeve, huh?" Bai Xiang asked.
"Hmm... You need to wait to find out more about me." Bai Xifeng smiled.
Bai Xiang would not force his daughter to tell him about that. As his daughter said, he would let the time tell him.
The advance process was still going on. Bai Tingfeng was still absorbed in the spiritual Qi. During that time, some soldiers already caught some of the spies from different countries. It seemed they were curious about what happened yesterday.
The thundercloud was so big that it could be seen from their countries. No wonder they got curious about that. They decided to come over to see. Without realizing it, they had been caught right away when they were approaching the place.
Bai Xiang ordered the soldiers to throw the spies into the dungeon. They did not have time to settle with those people. They needed to improve their strength first. Then they would settle with those countries.
On the third day, the thundercloud appeared again. This time, it was even bigger than the previous one. Bai Tingfeng felt the spiritual Qi inside his body was full. It seemed it wanted to burst out.
He knew that he would be going to advance again this time. He calmed himself down. He opened his eyes and looked up at the sky. The same thundercloud. He just made a small smile on his lips.
The thunder wanted to strike him again. He did not mind since it was his element attribute. He liked it.
The thunder started striking him. The array that surrounded him broke into a piece as the thunder passed through the array.
Everyone who had been watching Bai Tingfeng was surprised to see the thunder striking Bai Tingfeng again. It seemed the thunder was stronger than the previous one.
Usually, people would prepare themselves with armor that could deflect the lightning since some of the people did not have special element attributes like Bai Tingfeng. Bai Tingfeng was lucky to have this element attribute.
And usually, the lightning struck them only two or three times. But Bai Tingfeng had been struck 10 times. This time, no one knew how many times Bai Tingfeng would be struck by the lightning.
The lightning struck Bai Tingfeng fast without intervals. The people were shocked to see the scene. Some of them were calculated how many of Bai Tingfeng had been struck. It was past 10 times. However, it seemed that it would still be going to strike Bai Tingfeng.
13, 16, 18, 19... The moment 20 lightning struck Bai Tingfeng. The spiritual Qi burst out and Bai Tingfeng successfully advanced to the next rank which was the High-Rank Cold Core.
As her little sister told him, the pill did manage to advance from Low-Rank to High-Rank Cold Core. He was happy but he knew that he could not be so happy since he needed to stabilize his cultivation power first.
So, he closed his eyes again and sat in the meditation position. He felt stronger. After one hour of that, Bai Tingfeng opened his eyes back. The sky already become brighter.
Bai Tingfeng stood up. He looked around and found his father and sister who were already watching him. He went straight to them.
"Congratulations." Bai Xiang patted Bai Tingfeng’s hard.
Well, Bai Tingfeng did not feel anything since he was already used to it. They always being sparring to each other. A pat like this was quite normal to Bai Tingfeng.
However, Bai Xifeng did not think so. Seeing Bai Xiang patting her brother hard, she said this to her father.
"Father, don’t be so hard on Big Brother. He just advanced." Bai Xifeng said.
Bai Xiang was stunned and Bai Tingfeng was touched by Bai Xifeng’s words. Bai Xiang coughed.
"He is fine. Just a few pats." Bai Xiang said.
Bai Xifeng did not say anything but just glanced at Bai Xiang with a questioning look on her face.
"Okay... Okay... I will not be hard on your brother." Bai Xiang gave up.
It was his precious daughter after all. It was not like she defended some random men, it was her brother. If she was defending some random man, he would be so annoying.
It seemed the people wanted to talk to Bai Tingfeng too. However, Bai Xifeng already pulled Bai Tingfeng over. She wanted to check on Bai Tingfeng’s body to see if he had any problems after advancing from the Low-Rank Cold Core to the High-Rank Cold Core.
