The Rise of the Black Plain -
Chapter 86 - 86: Boars
As Ruth observed the area from above, Minos retrieved his low-level grade-2 sword from his spatial ring and prepared himself for the impending battle.
It didn't take long before a group of 50 wild boars started to appear in Minos' vision.
Each boar had two sharp canines that were protruding out of their mouths. These teeth were slightly curved upwards and measured about 20 centimeters in length.
All of these wild boars stood 1.5 meters tall and certainly weighed well over 400 kilograms. They were also covered in brown furs and had small, completely reddish eyes.
As he looked at the boars in front of him, Minos could tell that this group of beasts was hungry and intended to hunt him down and feast on his flesh, as this was evident from the saliva dripping from the mouths of many of these spiritual beasts.
'Well, if that's the case, I don't need to hold abc either...' he thought, preparing himself for the fight.
Engaging in a fight against a group of wild spiritual beasts was not definitely an easy task.
Unlike humans, spiritual beasts possessed a sense of cooperation that was far superior to that of men. And because of this, even beasts with lower levels of intelligence could pose a significant threat to their enemies if they were hunting in large groups, as in this case.
The boars began staring at Minos even more sharply as if they were preparing to attack the young man before them at any moment. However, it was unfortunate that they had not yet reached the 5th stage, which could allow them to have the ability to probe the surroundings better.
And similarly for the young Stuart, even if he wasn't able to handle them alone, there was still Ruth and her eagle, who were just a few feet away, waiting to join the fight at any needy instance.
Finally, the boars entered the area that his technique could influence, and as soon as he noticed this, Minos immediately activated his techniques at once since he had been only waiting for the beasts to get closer.
Devouring Art!
Indestructible Body!
Spatial Sword!
By doing so, the strength and hardness of his body was drastically increased, and a dark ring could be seen materializing a few meters above him.
Gradually, the spiritual energy of these 50 beasts had started to be converted into his own energy to harness. Simultaneously, an invisible force also swiftly blocked the space within a radius of 40 meters from him.
Due to the fact that these spiritual beasts had not yet reached the 5th stage of cultivation and thus were almost at the same stage as him, a significant number of them were affected by his techniques to the point where they were unable to move in the slightest!
Of course, since their number was simply enormous, this made it impossible for all the boars to be restricted. But even so, the ones who were not affected by it still had their speed severely reduced.
And despite the fact that these spiritual beasts were physically stronger than humans at similar levels, it was only related to this specific property.
And since they could not use techniques and were under the influence of Minos' attack technique, it left them no choice but to endure it!
Meanwhile, Minos swiftly began to maneuver his sword with grace and nobility. With that, in a fraction of a second, several air blades were unleashed at those beasts who suffered the most from the Spatial Sword's influence.
Swooish!
Swooish!
The blades soared toward the massive bodies of the boars, instilling a sense of mortal danger within them.
Some of these wild beasts tried to dodge with all they had, but it proved challenging to move in that confined space. It was as if something was holding their bodies and intensifying the resistance to any of their movement.
Grrr!
Grrr!
Mournful wails reverberated throughout the stream region as several boars were struck and hurled away into the distance. And though most of them still remained alive, about ten wild boars had succumbed to death in that single attack.
Riiinch!
Seeing the results of his first attack, Minos wasted no time and continued to press on, realizing that some enraged beasts were already charging toward him with a ferocious looks.
'Come! At least I can win against you!' Minos thought as he continued to fight.
Having his techniques completely disregarded when fighting against Ruth gave him a very suffocating feeling causing Minos to be a lot stressed.
Consequently, the satisfaction of being able to destroy these spiritual beasts was immense for this young man for the time!
Spatial Sword!
Another barrage of blades was thrown as four wild boars tried to lunge at Minos with full force!
Swooish!
Poof!
The attack from the four boars was merely able to push him back, as his powerful defense absorbed all the damage from it.
Simultaneously, another group of wild boars was emitting final cries of pain and agony before they were unable to breathe anymore.
...
While Minos fought with the group of boars, Ruth was continuously observing and assessing the fight the entire time. She knew that the young Stuart was powerful, but she was still concerned about his well-being.
That was a horde of 50 spiritual beasts!
Each of them was stronger than Minos. And even if they were at the same stage, this fight was still undeniably brutal!
However, when she saw Minos' performance while he fought, Ruth's worry gradually lessened, and it began to be replaced with a beautiful smile on her face.
She didn't quite fathom why, but she felt an immense satisfaction seeing it. It was almost as if she was proud of him...
'Hmm, it looks like he will be able to deal with all of them,' she calmly analyzed the situation. The techniques that Minos was exhibiting were quite dominating, a fact that Ruth recognized, especially when she observed it at work against other living beings.
'If only the difference in our spiritual energy weren't so vast, I would never have been able to ignore his techniques...' she murmured, letting out a soft sigh and then making a silent vow to herself, "I must try harder to increase my cultivation. Otherwise, he will leave me behind."
...
Meanwhile, with only two seconds remaining before his defensive technique collapsed, Minos had already annihilated over 40 wild boars in the past 8 seconds. After these two seconds passed, he would be left completely exhausted and no longer be able to fight.
After all, he was using a low-level grade-2 sword, which demanded a lot from his body. Minos then hurried and activated his attack technique once again, directing several moves toward the vital points of the remaining enemies.
Spatial Sword!
Swooish!
Swooish!
The blades charged toward the remaining seven boars, which were now left completely immobilized. They, too, had already exhausted most of their reserves and were no longer able to ignore the restriction imposed by Minos' technique.
These spiritual beasts were sweating cold as they finally braced themselves for the impending strikes that would take their lives.
Boom!
The lifeless bodies were launched into a distance and, along with them, destroyed a part of the vegetation in the vicinity where the fight had just taken place.
"Ha... Haa... Ha..." Minos clung to the side of a tree, panting vigorously. His clothes were drenched with sweat and riddled with several holes. Though his defense technique was excellent, it only protected the physical body of its user and not the clothes!
"Phew, it's finally over!" He finally exclaimed in a low voice, trying to recover from the arduous exertion he had just gone through.
Meanwhile, seeing that the fight had come to a conclusion, Ruth descended from the sky along with her great white eagle, landing near their campsite.
Seeing this, Minos smiled at her but said nothing.
He just sat in a meditative posture and began to circulate his cultivation technique, Solar God Breath. At the same time, several spiritual crystals appeared around him, emanating a radiant glow as their energies were gradually absorbed by Minos.
While Minos was cultivating to regain his energy, Ruth immediately started gathering the carcass of all 50 beasts in one place. After that, she instantly incinerated them so that the smell of blood would not attract other spiritual beasts of this region.
Neither among the two had any interest in collecting the meat from these beasts. First, it was because both of them had large quantities of crystals, and second, they didn't wish to delay their trip by looking for a place to sell these beasts. Along with that, it would make no sense to let the corpses of these worthless beasts occupy the small space of their spatial rings.
...
Three hours elapsed quickly, and Minos had finally fully recuperated from the previous battle.
At that moment, he and Ruth decided to alternate between resting and keeping watch over the surroundings. After all, they were in a place called The Valley of Beasts, and it would be unwise if both of them went to sleep at the same time.
With that, time quickly started to pass when a new day's light rays gradually transitioned into the night while the surroundings grew increasingly clearer.
Right now, Ruth sat at the top of a tree, surveying the region and patiently waiting for Minos to finish his rest.
She had taken the second round since Minos had just cultivated after the fight and was full of energy. After sleeping for a while, Ruth switched places with the young Stuart, assuming the current situation.
And after the day cleared, it was not long before Minos also woke up.
Subsequently, the two had some spiritual fruits as their breakfast and disarmed their tent before finally leaving this place to resume their journey. Soon after, a loving couple could be seen taking off on a large white eagle from the lakeside at the foothill.
