Chapter 74: The Last Snowfall: Tale Spun to Doom Blood Moon’s Reign!

Chapter 74: The Last Snowfall: Tale Spun to Doom Blood Moon’s Reign!

Adrei blocked her left agaisnt the swung coffin, her wounded arm smeared in red gels that rotted with screaming death of another soul, as the sovereign’s palm surged forward and sunk into her stomach, the impact reverberated through the land, covering the Dragon’s hused groan, before the sovereign grined, not with elgance, but with bloodlust as she spinned-kicked the Dragon’s head.

Adrei fell, her cheek scraped the debris like a blade on whetstone. As she glanced up, a towering shadow loomed, the coffin hovered with thorns from the sovereign’s palm before the dragon dodged sideways. The coffin relented as it drilled through the ground and uppercut the dragon in the chin, before thorns chained and bit into her neck, hurled her backward like a ragdoll to meet the sovereign’s right, thorned hook aimed at the face, but not before a block from the Dragon, her scales chipped as she landed, as her other arm clawed at the Monarch, before the soverign palmed the claws as she allowed the impale of the sharpness with a crazed smile, the bloods and souls of those who betrayed her toiling her sanity into only joy for slaughter.

"Do you see now? The scales you bathed your kin’s blood in...rotting with my dead souls."

Adrei widened her eyes at the red gels shimmering, scales melting into her human skins, but immediately narrowed her pupils in focus as she pulled the sovereign’s impaled hand, the claw still stuck in the palm as she muttered a might’s indifference right at her shivering, excited red eyes.

<Impact, Sow, Crickle>

Then her other fist struck back into the sovereign’s hand, the claw still clung like a bloodied twisted dance, heatwave swiping out from the sovereing’s back, as her guts were seeded explosive dusts and twisted into small explosions. She gasped again as the Dragon struck her again, another burst before striking her again. Chained explosions burst—not celebration, but a eulogy for wasted souls, each detonation spat splinters of bone, Adrei’s way of returning the souls La Llorona wasted, yet as Adrei stretched back her hand, the sovereign headbutted the dragon’s scaled hand before her impaled hand swung and threw Adrei off to the side, her grinning mouth breathing steam instead of blood from her victim.

The sovereign narrowed at the Dragon’s hushing breaths and tacted shoulders for hiding her exhaustion, the blood gel still seeping and rotting her scales off as the claws chipped away to merely sharper human nails. Given her resolution to use fist instead of claw...even her weapon screamed at her that this human vessel would not last long.

And so La Llorona pulled back her coffin with her thorned hand, puffing out her last steam, before she glanced up, narrowing her eyes and smiling.

"Say...your partner seems to have abandoned you, doesn’t she?"

Adrei spat out blood, even her red blood has been rotted into the mud like seed of corruption as she straightened herself. "A maidenless cunt like you would have hoped so."

The Dragon Queen eyed her rotting arm, flesh sloughing like pagan bark, as her ashen mantle still clung to her skin, unable to burn it away. She had an idea what her witch was trying to focus on and accomplish, just that it is extraordinarily difficult for her first time.

But she had no despair, but merely calm resolve. Her wife will suceed, and all the Dragon Queen has to do is exhaust this human vessal to its limit, injure La Llorona as much as she can, before the true final battle.

And so she dashed again, her arms in tow ready for another, as her claw clashed against the coffin of screaming souls, the vampire’s grin ever stoking her fiery, noble fury.

"...<Tale> won’t work on her anymore."

Demond chuckled in defeat. That vampire sovereign’s regeneration aside, her tolerance...or perversion to pain is matched by none other than her own husband, and she was sure any icicle would only fuel her bloodlust instead of hesitation or loss of focus.

"Then it is simple. I simply have to ensure Adrei fought to her fullest."

The groans from the knights and citizens around her reminded the witch of Adrei’s predicament. She was never at her full strength with this many innocents around, for even a breath of release from her power would scorch this entire land on never-ending flames, the honourless peacekeeper who slaughtered her entire clan is not an empty monikor after all.

So, what she has to do is simple.

<Perception>, or manipulation of the World’s <Perception>, just like what she saw Adil did.

If the attacks would involve the innocents or the town, then simply Demond has to allow the world to ’not perceive the attack’, for the innocents and the town not ’seen’ by the World, so when her husband scorched lands, the real world would remain unaffected.

There are risks like if her bottomless mana will run out first, of course, but <Fairytale> magic series assisted it by weaving mana’s control into simple bedtime story.

Then, there is no time to waste.

She took a glance back at the fogged sky, the tailors smiling within, nodding flows of vaguness as if prepared to be spun into another tale, before the witch smiled.

And so, she raised her staff, like one weaver would to a needle.

------------

Serpent-like neons of gold and red clashed each other, bounced, as Adrei’s feet embered paths of dying flames, before dashing, battered claws striking coffin, bouncing off, then dashing again. Flamey trail met blood-pooled step, claw mixed in with fist met thorny coffins, glare met grin, discipline met insanity, none would let slip for the opponent in this twisted flame-blood dance, each impact roared the heaven a new eden, a new hell, as embered claw that protected humanity clashed against the coffin that screamed souls once again.

Yet eden sorrowed as Adrei’s rotting claw swung, yet her eyes narrowed as the coffin bent her arm backwards. Unfazed her other claw struck, then a tapping palm from sovereign bent it again, before the vampire’s thorned hand retracted coffin, both hands holding the giant metal as she slammed away the Dragon’s side like a pitball, giving her a taste of what her sister went through.

One roll, two roll, before the Dragon’s step clawed and stood herself up, her eyes still glaring forward, her ears echoing a chuckle from the Vampire Queen.

"Are you perhaps waiting for something?" La Llorona mocked as her finger dug into the thorrns as she petted the coffin’s torture souls. "Because even I can tell your human vessal is failing you, Dra-gon-Queen."

Baiting her, is it? Adrei sneered as she stood. "Indeed. I have waited long. But..."

A prideful smile curved on the Dragon’s face as she glanced up, observing as the foggy sky pulsed, drummed, then coiled and swirled, the world trembling under vague hints and whispers, its eyes fluttering as the harder it stared, the more it let slip of its vision.

The vampire’s grin faltered, the needled ear in her ears tremored the familiar witch’s voice.

"In the Endless Wasteland, a grass wilted as the World’s balance tilted."

An utter shock revelated the vampire, as a dimming light of coldness descended upon the land under the foggy sky. She gritted her teeth as she bolted forward. She would not allow her past to be buried by a mere tale spun on a whim.

"Evil bent for Justice, as new boundaries’ flowers bloomed lustrous."

Flowery scent that would freeze even the most malice of evil filled the air, as the vampire jumped and swung the coffin down, only to meet Adrei’s grinning headbutt, the pain not registering compared to the pride for her wife.

"In the land that only breathes frosts, only shades remain as solace’s costs."

And so, the World wept frosts, as it allowed the ice and frosts to color its entirety. Adrei side-kicked the vampire’s cheek as the sovereign rolled, steadied, then groaned, at the sight of the blues, the scented bloods from faraway growing fainter, as if tickling her nose before disappearing like flinging giggles of mockery.

"And so, I alone stepped aside as Judge, for in the cold there is none more malice that could trudge."

In this <Blinded World>, a snowflake fell onto the Dragon’s cheek, the tickly sensation brought courage beyond her understanding, beyond her centuries of existence, as she wobbled to stand, her rotting scales glowing golden as the edges sharpened, the air thinning as the rots screamed for mercy before steaming away.

"I must admit, sovereign, I underrestimated you."

Her body bursted steams that seethed the air, as her scaled flesh swelled and grew, spilling gold’s majesty. Her bent bones toiled back with a click before scales completely covered the rest of her skin, her draconic irises enlarged as her mouth protruded, and from her lips, a merciless voice that slaughtered her own kin without batting an eye drummed the sovereign’s ear.

"You are more foolish idol that I could ever imagine, for you abandon reasons in pursuit of hatred and vengance."

The Dragon’s palm slammed, the Earth obeyed, the fleshes grew until it covered the red moon.

"I find myself just as foolish, as for a moment, I dare lower myself under your gaze."

The sky crackled at the voice even the World itself didn’t dare to hear, the sovereign’s eyes blinked. A dragon, as majestic as divine itself, as cruel as the ambers that was caged within its calm, bloodlusted irises, manifested before her.

"And so, let us continue, not as between equals, but as between a slaughterer and her prey."

A roar sorched the heavens, in this world where the first and last snow died.
