I threw a long, hard look at Nick, knowing full well that he’d continue to pester me if I didn’t deal with this situation in front of him.

I didn’t need this kind of trouble in my life.

I made a quick call, requesting the folks on the other end to wrap things up.

A wider grin spread across Nick’ face.

"Alright, that’s settled. Now, about Nicole..." Nick wasn’t done, I knew it. He asked, "Did you arrange for her to go back to her hometown?"

"I wouldn’t know," I replied, my face devoid of any expression. "Don’t bother asking me; you won’t get any leads here."

"I already know where she is. I just wanted to confirm it with you. We all have precious time to save, don’t we?" Nick had a thick skin for sure, stating his intentions so bluntly.

So he wasn’t entirely sure where Nicole was.

’I scoffed, "Then asking me pointless. I don’t know, If you want to find Nicole, go ahead. To me, she was just a pawn, nothing more. We never saw eye to eye in the past, so whatever you plan to do with her, I couldn’t care less. You thought you could threaten me with this. You miscalculated."

As soon as I finished my sentence, Nick’ face darkened. "Then what if I threaten you with your two children? I hear you’re with Jones and have two kids, right?"

His words ignited a fury within me. I could tolerate a lot, but not when it came to threats against my family, especially my children.

"Nick, you’re crossing a line. We have no grievances against each other. If you dare to go against my family, I promise you’ll regret it!" I stood up, grabbed a glass of water from the table, and splashed it on Nick’ face.

The water seemed to stoke his anger. He wiped his face, stood up and pointed at me. "If it weren’t for you, Ariel wouldn’t be in prison! She was carrying my child, but she lost it!"

This revelation caught me by surprise. I remembered Ariel wanting to be with Damon, dreaming about marrying into the Coleman family. How did she end up pregnant with Nick’ child?

Talk about a bunch of shameless people, crossing all boundaries!

My disgust for Nick and Ariel reached new heights.

"Nick, you’re truly disgusting. Stay away from me in future. If you love Ariel so much, why don’t you stay celibate for her until she gets out from prison?" I looked at him with repulsion. He was a man who’d set up his girlfriend and betray his best friend by sleeping with his girlfriend’s friend.

He and Ariel must have been up to something, otherwise they wouldn’t have conspired against Nicole.

Irritated by my words, Nick’ face turned even more sour. Afraid he might get physical, I decided to leave.

As I opened the door to leave, someone grabbed a handful of my hair. The sudden pain made me gasp.

"You wretch! You caused the death of my child, and you dare to insult me? I’ll make you regret it today!" Nick was like a man possessed, spewing vile words and acting brutally.

I was no match for him. He pushed me hard against the table and I couldn’t move.

"Do you know? Damon still can’t forget you. If he finds out that I’ve had you, he’ll probably go insane. Jones is one, and I’m another. His buddies got a great deal." Nick ripped off his genteel mask, revealing his savage and shameless side.

I never expected him to stoop so low. He was a beast!

"Was Damon not good enough for you? You want to take revenge on him so you’re doing this to me?" I tried to stay calm and grasp the main point. It seemed like Nick was more interested in making Damon suffer than taking revenge on me.

What could have possibly happened between him and Damon?

"He was good to me? What kind of good? Everything he has should have been mine!" Nick shouted uncontrollably.

What did he mean by that?

I suddenly remembered a piéce of gossip I’d read. It was about Silas having an illegitimate child. Could Nick be that child? Could it be true?

I was stunned and couldn’t react. Meanwhile, Nick was already starting to tear my clothes. My phone had fallen on the floor and I couldn’t call Jones. Just as my clothes were about to be ripped apart, I saw a glass on the table. I reached out and grabbed it. Nick was too busy assaulting me to notice. I didn’t plan to hit him directly with the glass. If I didn’t knock him out, I’d end up worse.

I grabbed the glass and swung my arm back as hard as I could, smashing it against the door. The shattering sound echoed in the room. Anyone passing by would hear it.

I hoped it was a waiter who could come in and check on us.

"Help!" I screamed.

But Nick quickly covered my mouth, and I could barely breathe.

Just when I thought all hope was lost, the door opened. I felt a sudden release on my back. Nick was pulled away and punched to the ground.

I sat there, clutching my torn clothes, watching Damon land punch after punch on Nick. Catherine and Leo stood at the door, their faces a mixture of shock and confusion.

How did they end up here? I thought Jones heard my screams.

Just then, Jones appeared. He first glanced at me, then at Damon who was still beating Nick. His eyes were cold and terrifying.

Damon was still assaulting Nick, so Jones didn’t intervene. He came over, held me tightly in his arms, and shielded my tattered clothes from view.

A few waiters rushed in, shocked by the chaos. They tried to intervene, but Damon wouldn’t stop. Finally, Catherine stepped in and grabbed his blood-soaked hand. "Enough! Do you want to kill him?!"

"Dad, stop!" Leo cried out, frightened.

Damon finally regained some semblance of sanity, slowly rising to his feet, while Nick lay on the ground, his face a gruesome mask of blue and purple bruises, smeared with blood.

Despite his condition, Nick was still laughing, "Damon, bet you didn’t see this coming, did you? Your girl was pinned under me!"

This maniac!

I’m now fully convinced that Nick was a lunatic.
