Damon blocked Jones with his hand, his eyes full of anger. "What are you doing here?"

Jones chuckled coldly. "Looking for Eliana."

Jones pointed at me. I looked terrible, with Jones’s words still echoing in my mind.

Catherine was back. That meant any attempts at rekindling my relationship with Damon were pointless.

It was time to set boundaries with Damon, but not now.

"Damon, let Jones go. I’ve already talked to him." I said to Damon.

Damon stared blankly at me. "What did you talk about?"

"I’ve always liked Eliana, and that hasn’t changed. What did she tell you?" Jones answered for me.

This answer only infuriated Damon more. My past entanglement with Jones had caused several arguments between Damon and me, and now Jones was standing right in front of me.

I might have been scared before, but now, thinking of Catherine and Jones’s words, I felt the need to protect myself.

If I was destined to be hurt again, why shouldn’t I put up a shield first?

"Jones, go. I’ll explain to him."

Jones nodded and left, and this time Damon didn’t stop him.

Hearing this, Damon stopped and looked at me with confusion. After a few seconds, he frowned. "You seem off today. Is something wrong?"

Had I not hidden it well? I quickly avoided Damon’s gaze and forced a smile. "No, it’s just that I had a check-up today. I’m still not pregnant."

"Just that?" Damon came over and looked at me. "I know I really want a child, but you don’t have to put so much pressure on yourself. We can always adopt if you can’t give birth."

If Damon and I were to take a swing at Nancy, we might end up on Catherine’s bad side.
