The Reborn Wife Of The Tyrant CEO -
Chapter 342 - 338
Chapter 342: Chapter 338
"What’s this stuff?" Damon’s gaze fell on my medicine as a frown appeared on his face. "Are you feeling unwell?"
I replied impatiently, "It’s a tonic. That woman you just saw is my doctor. You might’ve pissed her off."
Damon casually picked up the medicine, sniffed it, and made a dismissive comment. "What kind of doctor offers home delivery service?"
"She’s not working in any hospital at the moment. She just got back from abroad. Could you look up some information on her?" I was suspicious of Snow’s identity. If Damon could find something out, it might be helpful. I needed to know who she really was.
My health was in her hands, after all. I needed to be careful.
Damon raised an eyebrow. "Eliana, are you out of your mind? You’re entrusting your health to a freelance doctor? You think you’ve got lives to spare?"
If it weren’t for Luna’s pregnancy, I wouldn’t have believed Snow so easily.
I didn’t want to discuss my health issues with Damon. I simply packed up my medicine and said, "If you don’t want to investigate, that’s fine. You don’t have to interfere with my decisions."
After putting away the medicine, I returned to the living room. "Let’s go. Weren’t we supposed to pick up Daisy from Starlight Estates?"
I was slightly angry, but Damon just laughed. He got up and wrapped his arm around my waist. "Why are you so easy to anger these days? What should I do if you’re always mad at me?"
"Aren’t you an expert in handling such situations?" I replied impassively.
He’d managed all his former scandals and the women he’d been with well, with no one daring to badmouth him.
Whenever I brought up the past, Damon would always look helpless. "Let’s not talk about this. You know what happened with those women. Haven’t I been scandal-free since our divorce?"
"What about Ariel? The rumors are still flying." I walked out the door as I casually said this.
"Don’t you know why those rumors between Ariel and me exist?" Damon pinched my waist like he was punishing me.
I squealed in pain. Why did Damon always have to be so touchy?
But I understood Damon’s frustration. After all, I was the one who caused it.
Damon’s car was parked not far away. As we were bickering and heading downstairs, I spotted Snow, standing under the sun dressed in black. It wasn’t even nine yet, but the sun was already scorching everything around.
She was standing not far from Damon’s car, so I asked, "Snow, why are you still here?"
"I called for a ride. I’m waiting." Snow’s response confused me. She shouldn’t be short of money. Why didn’t she have a car?
Since she’d already mentioned it, I offered to give her a ride. "Still staying at a hotel? We can give you a lift."
Damon’s face fell at my suggestion. It seemed like he didn’t want to play chauffeur.
Snow nodded. "Is it convenient? If so, thank you."
"Sure!" I answered before Damon could say anything. He gave me a look but didn’t say anything. He just got in the car.
I gestured for Snow to get in too. To my surprise, she took the front seat.
She apologized, "I get carsick. Sitting in the front helps."
Wasn’t she a doctor? Wasn’t there a cure for motion sickness?
Of course, I couldn’t ask her that directly. It was just a front seat. She was my doctor, and I had no reason to fuss about it. All I did was to nod and take the back seat.
Damon didn’t seem very pleased. He gave Snow a look full of discontent.
The ride was almost silent. When we reached the hotel, Snow thanked me and Damon and got out of the car. Nothing seemed out of the ordinary until a seven or eight-year-old boy ran out of the hotel door. He ran straight towards her.
Damon was about to drive off, but he paused. I was also looking at the boy because he looked a lot like Damon.
He was the spitting image of Damon!
Snow crouched down, opened her arms, and embraced the boy. She then deliberately looked back at us. She said something to the boy, and he waved goodbye to us with a big smile on his face.
I didn’t know what was going on in Damon’s mind, but I was shocked. It was as if he’d been struck by lightning.
How come there was a boy so similar to Damon? And he was Snow’s son? I remembered what she said about coming back to the country to find her son’s father. Could Damon be the father?
My mind was spinning.
"Damon, don’t you think the boy looks like you?" I asked directly, "Could he be your secret love child?"
"Impossible!" Damon answered firmly. "I’m absolutely sure I’ve never had that kind of relationship with those women."
"He really looks like you. And I remember Snow saying she came back to the country to find her son’s father." My intuition was telling me that Snow’s interest in me had something to do with Damon. After all, I was his ex-wife.
Damon suddenly got angry and interrupted me. "Don’t I know my own past? It’s impossible. There are many lookalikes in the world. Stop overthinking."
I was startled by Damon’s tone. He was harsh, but he was right. I couldn’t just assume they were related because the boy looked like him.
I didn’t say anything more until the car stopped at the gate of Starlight Estates. Damon broke the silence. "Get out."
"Okay." I got out of the car. As I opened the gate, I heard a dog barking. Daisy was calling out to us from not far away. Someone was giving it a bath, and it
suddenly ran towards us, excitedly running around me and Damon.
Daisy had grown a lot in just a few months. I had only visited Starlight Estates once or twice over that period, and I hadn’t seen it.
"Daisy, stay still!" Damon was worried that I would be knocked over by the dog, so he commanded it sternly.
Daisy seemed to understand. It stopped trying to pounce on me and instead whined, sounding both excited and aggrieved.
Just then, Lisa popped out. As soon as she saw me, a big grin spread across her face. "Eliana, you’re here. Damon told me you’d be taking Daisy. I’ve been waiting for you."
I shot a glance at Damon. He was clearly the one who strong-armed me into taking the dog.
