The Reborn Wife Of The Tyrant CEO -
Chapter 231 - 227
Chapter 231: Chapter 227
The music was bouncing off the walls in the bar, and nobody could hear me holler over the racket. Even if they did, they wouldn’t understand a word I was saying, but Damon could.
His eyes were full of concern and helplessness. He gently brushed my cheek with his fingertips, wiping away my tears, and muttered a soft "Sorry."
"Today would’ve been my dad’s birthday But where’s home for me? That cold, empty house? Nah..." I mumbled to myself.
"Damon, I was once your wife, often alone in that desolate villa. I didn’t feel like it was my home. After our divorce, I was still heartbroken, even lost my parents’ home. I was alone again. Luna was right. You really hurt me"
Damon’s fingers paused on my face. He held my chin, forcing me to look up at him. He was visibly upset, "I just wanted you to beg me, I wanted you to need me like you used to, even when you lost a pen."
"I won’t beg you, Damon". Even though I was drunk, I was clear-headed, "Don’t think you can trick me into going back. I’ve come to terms with everything that’s happened."
Damon’s eyes darkened, his face a mask of anger, "Stop making me angry"
"My parents have already suffered enough. What else can you threaten me with?" I laughed fearlessly.
"Don’t you want to inherit the company your mother spent a lifetime building?" Damon’s lips curled into a cruel smile, "When I’m happy, I can help you. When I’m not, I can make things worse for you. Got it?"
My smile froze. Indeed, I couldn’t let my mother’s hard work go to waste. Wasn’t that why I had been working so hard lately? To cling onto that last shred of hope?
Damon knew me too well. He knew exactly how to hit where it hurts.
"Come home with me now, or face the consequences" Damon whispered in my ear, his tone threatening
Suddenly, Jones appeared not far away, watching Damon and me with a cold gaze.
Seeing him, guilt surged within me.
Scarlett appeared next to Jones. She whispered something to him. When she spotted me, she froze.
Jones ignored her and walked straight towards us.
"Jones" Scarlett chased after him in panic.
Seeing Jones approaching. Damon shielded me behind him, clearly drawing a line between Jones and me.
Jones paid Damon no mind. He extended his hand towards me, his gaze softened, "Come with me"
His eyes were full of hope and kindness. He was waiting for me to let go of Damon and leave with him.
Scarlett watched me, her face a mix of emotions.
I wanted to leave with Jones. His character reassured me that he could heal all the wounds I had suffered. I believed that I could fall in love with him.
But I didn’t know if I could overlook people’s opinions. The prerequisite for being with him was the well- being of my parents.
Everything in my home now relied on me. If I chose to be with Jones, it would break the agreement with his parents. His family would definitely seek revenge on me.
Damon would also put pressure on me and made me regret my choice.
Everything told me not to have contact with Jones, or we would both be in a situation beyond redemption.
Even though I knew that he might be the only man in this world who could make me believe in love again, we couldn’t be together anymore.
"Damon, didn’t you want to take me home? I don’t want to go back. Let’s just go to your place". My words were laced with the bitter taste of alcohol.
Hearing my words, shock flashed through Jones’s eyes, quickly replaced by anger, blazing hot!
The next second, Jones’s fist landed on Damon’s face. Damon staggered, regained his footing, and retaliated with a punch of his own.
Their punches were harsh, fists flying. It didn’t take long for them to attract attention, Luna and the others were too far from me to notice the commotion.
Scarlett tried to break up the fight, but how could a girl stop two angry men in a brawl? Eventually, she had no choice but to get the bar staff to intervene.
"Enough!" Seeing Damon gaining the upper hand, I finally rushed over and grabbed his arm.
Jones eye was bleeding, and his body was bruised. He laid on the ground, looking at me. I didn’t dare to meet his gaze.
Maybe agreeing to date him from the start was hurting him.
However, I couldn’t let him get hurt for life, let him really break off from his family, nor take my mom’s lifetime efforts as a joke.
Damon turned around, his bloodshot eyes glaring at me, seeming to scrutinize what I was thinking. I avoided his gaze and walked away.
He caught up with me quickly and lifted me up, not caring about Jones behind him.
I was already slightly drunk, and being lifted up made me even more powerless to resist
After leaving the bar, Damon roughly pulled me into his car. He had just won the fight but was still enveloped in a cold, angry aura.
I couldn’t care less about him and just said, "Take me to Sunlight Terrace"
I didn’t want to return to my place . That was where I lived with my parents. The house was empty, and I wasn’t used to.
After saying this, I closed my eyes to rest. I usually slept through the night when I got drunk, but not tonight. I kept waking up in a daze.
"Why are we at Starlight Estates? | wanted to go to Sink Terrace!" I sobered up instantly when I saw the familiar villa.
Damon was wiping the blood off his face with a wet wipe. His white shirt collar was stained with blood, looking both bloody and dangerous.
Upon hearing my words, he tossed the wet wipe away, licked his wounded lips, and retorted, "Didn’t you say you didn’t want to go home and wanted to come here?"
"You know damn well I said those things on purpose, just so Jones would back off," I replied stiffly.
"So you wanted him to back off, and you used me as a pawn?" Damon pointed at his face, "So you think I deserved those punches for nothing?"
His face wasn’t as messed up as Jones’s, but it was still battered, especially the left corner of his mouth, where there was a clear trace of blood.
I apologized in a low voice, "I’m sorry, I used you."
"It’s okay, you’ll pay me back With that," Damon opened the car door and got out, then walked around to the passenger side, opened the door, and lifted me out
I didn’t understand what he was doing and began to struggle anxiously, "Please put me down!"
"Shout a bit louder Call all those waiters you summoned to come and watch", Damon completely disregarded my struggle.
