Chapter 177: Chapter 173

"Mitch, can you give me Jones’s parents’ contact info? Come on "I asked.

Mitch was tight with Jones. He definitely knew. But he hesitated, didn’t dare to spill the beans, "Eliana, it’s not that I don’t want to give it to you. I just don’t want Jones to chew me out "

I chuckled and said, "Surely it’s better than watching him have a showdown with his family? When he chose to be a doctor, he must have had beef with his family, and he busted his hump to get where he wanted to be. We can’t waste all that just because of me."

Mitch sighed, whipped out his phone, and texted me a number, it was Jones’s mom’s cell number.

It was getting late. I’ll call tomorrow.

After Luna and Mitch left, I was tossing and turning in bed, unable to catch some Zs, until it was time to ship out. I didn’t wait for anyone, and I was left alone.

Once I got in the car, I was ready to hit the road when Nancy suddenly popped up by my window, smiling softly and knocking on the window.

"You’re Eliana, right?’ She asked once the window was rolled down.

"Uh–huh, what’s up?’ I wasn’t exactly fond of Nancy, I had things to deal with, so my tone was a bit icy

Nancy glanced back. A stretch limo was parked there, and Ariel and Karen were waiting for her inside.

She turned back to me, and said, "Nothing much. Ariel mentioned that Ms. Brooks was quite nice to her before. As her mother, I wanted to express my gratitude."

"Ms. Nancy, you’re too kind. Ariel and I aren’t that familiar’’ I responded with a polite smile, not particularly warm.

Nancy didn’t get mad or embarrassed. She just went on, "Ariel is young. She can be easily fooled by appearances. If she’s caused any inconvenience to you, I hope you’ll forgive her"

The way she put it, it was like I was the one who deceived innocent Ariel

Nancy was definitely not as polite to me as she appeared. Her voice, her tone, and even every word she said all had a tinge of sarcasm.

Just then, Damon appeared in the distance, and he noticed Nancy and me immediately

Nancy, as Catherine’s mother, must have had a bone to pick with him I didnt think Damon would have an easier time than me when he saw her

Damon had changed into a white shirt, wearing black shades. The white fabric shimmered under the sun, quite dazzling.

Looking at his usual indifference, I was suddenly curious: how did he get through last night?

But that was something Nancy and Ariel should be worried about. After all, they were the ones who slipped him the mickey.

Sure enough, Ariel got out of the limo and called out. "Damon"

Damon glanced at her, completely brushed her off, and strode towards me.

Ariel’s face turned pale, and she followed Damon unwillingly.

"Damon, did you have a good time last night?’ Nancy saw Damon, her eyes were cold, but she still had a smile on her face.

Damon’s attitude towards her was not friendly either. He didn’t even take off his shades, and his tone was cold, "What do you think?"

He was drugged. How could he have had a good time? I looked at Damon and didn’t sense a shred of joy. Instead, a chill emanated from him

If Damon hadn’t accidentally entered my room last night and bumped into other women instead, today’s headlines would probably all be about him.

If Ariel had taken advantage of the situation, their photos could have ended up all over the media, and it wouldn’t have been easy for him to shake off the relationship.

Ariel stood a little behind him, her fingers clenched tightly. Given last night’s events, she must have been frustrated for failing to seduce Damon

"Well, if you didn’t enjoy this time, we can always get together again next time. By the way, Damon, I’m going to visit Catherine in the next few days. If you have time, why not join me? I dreamed of her last night, and she said she missed you" When Nancy said this, her somewhat aged eyes sparkled with hatred.

But the hatred was fleeting almost like an illusion.

Damon’s guilt over Catherine never disappeared, even though he had changed his attitude towards Ariel, It only represented his dislike for Ariel, not that he had completely forgotten Catherine

Nancy was obviously using Catherine’s death to provoke Damon.

"I’I visit her on my own" Damon responded coldly.

"Fine," Nancy didn’t insist on going with him. She gracefully smoothed her hair, smiling, "Ms. Brooks, I’ll be going now. We can chat next time."

I didn’t respond, I just watched her back.

Ariel seemed reluctant to leave. She took a long look at Damon and only quickened her pace to catch up when Nancy was already in the car.

"I apologize for last night". After they left. Damon took off his shades, leaned slightly towards the car window, and apologized to me.

The moment he mentioned it, those images that should have never appeared flooded my mind again.

I glanced at his lips, much paler than last night.

I tried to respond casually. "You were drugged and lost control; I won’t hold it against you. But I hope this won’t happen again." "Mm" Damon’s eyes were a bit complicated, he murmured.

Then his assistant drove up a car parked it next to us, and I quickly took off

In the rear view mirror, Damon’s figure got smaller and smaller until it disappeared.

I was driving while helplessly messing with my hair

Damon’s kiss last night unexpectedly stirred up a strange desire in me. Of course, I didn’t want anything to happen between us. As a grown and mature woman, it was normal to have physical needs.

These past two years, although I had traveled all over and met many men, I hadn’t tried any one night stands or fleeting romances I chose to ignore

some personal needs.

Damon’s behavior last night was like a spark, igniting the desire within me.

I could only bottle up all these troubles and start rethinking about finding a partner if I couldn’t have a baby, then I could find a man who didn’t want kids or one willing to adopt with me

With these jumbled thoughts I arrived home. My mom had come home at noon and cooked Seeing me she called me to join her for a meal

"Mom, what do you think if I marry a guy who also doesn’t want kids? Out of nowhere", I asked her while eating

"What are you on about?" My mom was taken aback.

"I mean getting hitched to a guy, but we’re not planning on having kids" I said seriously. "I think my marriage doesn’t need kids, it’s just the two of us, and That’s enough"
