She was so ungrateful.

Karen left with a sigh. Ariel turned to me, "Eliana, did Damon give you an agreement? About re-dividing property?"

I was slightly surprised that despite her severe illness, she managed to hold onto every detail so well. She really was incredibly diligent.

"Because Damon likes me!" Ariel finally found a comeback.

"Then keep trying. Let’s see if he’ll marry you" I said coldly. "Ariel, do you really not know about Catherine? That Karen’s sister? Are you going to keep playing dumb, happily accepting their kindness?"

Ariel stared at me, shocked. She couldn’t believe I knew about Catherine.

Her reaction amused me. ’Ariel, you don’t think the Coleman family didn’t try to persuade me, do you? They certainly informed me about Catherine’s situation and your heart condition."

"I don’t know what you’re talking about" Ariel panicked. "I don’t even know who Catherine is!"

"It’s okay. You should thank your parents for giving you a face like Catherine’s, and for getting her heart. Without that, Damon wouldn’t look at you twice, and Karen wouldn’t treat you like a sister. Got it?" I didn’t care that Ariel had gone pale.

She wanted to play dumb, so she could justify Damon’s compensation as love.

Ariel clutched her chest, gasping for breath. She stumbled and I stepped back. Karen rushed over to support her.

"Eliana, what did you do to her?" Karen demanded angrily.

Damon appeared from the restaurant. Seeing Ariel’s state, he rushed over.

Ariel collapsed into his arms, whispering, "Damon, who is Catherine.."

Then she fainted.

Even in fainting, she was setting the stage. Now that I’d revealed she knew about Catherine, Damon would find out soon. She might as well ask and put herself in a vulnerable position

Coming out from the restaurant, Luna and Mitch saw me standing alone at the entrance and couldn’t help but ask, "Where’s Damon?"
