The Reborn Wife Of The Tyrant CEO -
Chapter 119 - 117
Chapter 119: Chapter 117
Every time I brought up the topic of remarrying. Damon immediately became displeased. But I already had my divorce papers, what else can he do to me? "Have you found the right one?" He asked
"Aren’t they everywhere?" I calmly respond. "Don’t forget when I was pursuing you, there were plenty of others chasing after me too. I just chose you."
Damon stared at me, his eyes filled with confusion. After a long while, he managed to voice his question, "Why can we still talk so calmly? I’ve been thinking, did you change suddenly, or was it gradual? It feels like you changed all of a sudden, but I don’t know what made you change"
I did change suddenly, because I had died once
From Damon’s perspective, he must be shocked. My feelings for him were so deep, it was impossible to let go so quickly. Even the fact that we can still talk calmly now was because I had become very calm.
In Damon’s mind, he should be the one proposing the divorce, and I should be clinging on, looking unwilling. That would be normal.
"What’s the big deal, weren’t you also smitten with Ariel at first sight? It’s just a split–second decision, who can really explain it?" I casually explained. "Really?" Damon didn’t seem to believe it. "It’s not because you found someone new?"
I’m lying in bed looking at Damon, "Why do you care so much whether I have a new love interest or not?"
Damon was taken aback, seemingly realizing his jealousy, and went silent for a while, as if contemplating something.
I said. The things we lose and can’t have are always the best, right? Don’t come looking for me anymore, I don’t want to meddle in your business with Ariel any longer, I wish you two happiness."
After saying this, I turned my back to Damon and stopped talking.
Damon should understand my meaning, he was just not willing to accept it. And I sincerely wish him and Ariel happiness, so he won’t have time to disturb my life
Damon and I shared the same social circle, so even if we divorce, there will inevitably be some overlaps, but we can only be acquaintances.
"If this is what you truly want, alright, I respect your choice." I heard Damon’s voice, followed by the sound of his footsteps leaving. I didn’t turn around to look, I just continued to close my eyes and rest, as if he never came
Three days later, I got the news from home, Damon announced our divorce to the media. He didn’t announce it before, probably because he was indecisive between me and Ariel.
I guess this was his final answer to me.
Luna and the others already knew about my divorce, so they weren’t too shocked, instead, it was the netizens back home who started enjoying the tea.
User1: Damon divorced his wife for that college girl, right?
User2: This couple really disgusts me.
User3: Mr. Coleman really likes Ariel. Even though he had numerous scandals in the past, he never chose to divorce. Doesn’t his wife try to get a portion of the property and leave?
User4: His wife doesn’t seem to be short on money...
After reading the comments for a while, I turned off my phone. The story that had tormented me for ten years was nothing more than chitchat in the eyes of others
Many people criticized Ariel. I didn’t know if Ada would oppose her daughter being with Damon after seeing these.
I hope this can all end here, but things didn’t go as I wished. Lisa called, putting me in a difficult position. I didn’t answer her first call, and not until she called again did I pick up.
"Eliana" Lisa’s voice had a trace of anxiety, "I heard you’re in the hospital, what happened?"
"I’m fine." I hesitated for a moment, then responded, "I’m just feeling weak, I need to rest in the hospital for a while."
As I was still bleeding a bit, my doctor suggested that I be discharged after the bleeding stopped and the fetus stabilized.
My Lisa paused, seemingly not used to my change of tone. After she recovered, she continued, "You need to take good care of yourself. You’re already so skinny, and you need to eat more"
"I know. You need to look after yourself too." I politely replied.
"Eliana, it’s our family who did you wrong," Lisa sighed, "Damon told me before that the divorce was to let you relax, and he would try to win you back. But now it seems he can’t."
No wonder there was no reaction from his family when Damon and I divorced, so this was why I fell silent, not knowing what to say.
"But I absolutely can’t accept Ariel." Lisa suddenly became emotional, "Even if she gets pregnant with Damon’s child in the future, I won’t acknowledge. If she wants to join the Coleman family, she’ll have to wait till I’m dead."
I was a bit surprised, Lisa hated Ariel to the point where she won’t recognize her own grandchild? Didn’t she always want to hold her grandchild? Then I understood, this was just her being too angry, saying things in the heat of the moment. If Ariel really got pregnant, Lisa probably won’t be able to help herself.
"Ma’am, if Damon and Ariel truly love each other, then you should bless them. A harmonious family is very important" I softly advised
In my past life, I once cried and begged Lisa to help me hold onto Damon, but she was powerless.
"What true love? Ariel can’t possibly be that innocent. Anyway, I won’t accept her. If the Coleman family needs a daughter–in–law, then I only acknowledge you." Lisa said.
Her words were filled with sincerity and emotions, but I felt nothing. Maybe she really did like me as her daughter–in–law, but for Catherine’s sake, I can’t forgive her.
We talked for a bit longer, then I ended the call.
The news of my hospitalization must have been told by Damon to Lisa, nobody else back home should know. I didn’t even tell Luna and the others, because I didn’t want them to worry.
But I forgot there was one more person, who always liked to stir up trouble. Eliana Ariel showed up at the door of my ward room, it’d been four days since Damon announced the divorce.
Her leg seemed to have gotten much better, and she was just limping a bit when she walked. In her hand was a bouquet of blue bellflowers, which she placed on my bedside table as she approached.
"Mr. Coleman told me you’re pretty sick and had to be hospitalized, so I came to see you, Ariel said, her hair done up in a bun, revealing her pretty forehead. Her face showed calm and gentleness. "Eliana, are you feeling any better now?"
I looked at her with an expressionless face and didn’t say anything. Damon had announced his divorce, and she might just be here to rub it in.
Ariel was a bit green–eyed about me, as Damon’s affection for her didn’t seem so steadfast. So, she needed to flaunt to feel secure.
"He told me you need to keep a good mood for your illness," Ariel kept talking, not minding me. "But he’s so careless, announcing such news at this time. I’m sorry, I know he just wanted to reassure me."
I wanted to burst out laughing. Not wanting this to be a one–man–show for her, I sat up, grabbed the bouquet, and threw it at her. "Knowing I can’t get mad, yet you brought me a bouquet with such bad symbolism, you’re really thoughtful, aren’t you?"
