The Reborn Wife Of The Tyrant CEO -
Chapter 110 - 108
Chapter 110: Chapter 108
The young girl was a bit reluctant, "Mom, he’s already divorced. Can’t I like him?"
"Who knows if that’s true? Have you heard him make it public? Don’t be so gullible if he hasn’t said it himself!
"Hmph, he’ll say it sooner or later"
After a while, the footsteps of the mother and daughter gradually faded away, and I stepped out of the cubicle.
The girl’s name was Sandy, Dennis daughter,
I met her before the banquet started, introduced by Dennis. She kept glancing at Damon but was polite enough to me, always smiling when she spoke.
I washed my hands at the sink, then calmly returned to the banquet hall to continue eating.
After dinner, the guests gradually left. I looked around and didn’t see Dennis, so I planned to find him, say goodbye and then head home.
"Eliana!"
Sandy suddenly appeared. She looked about 25, dressed maturely and elegantly, but upon closer inspection, she was clearly very young
"Sandy." I replied with a smile.
"Huh, where’s Mr. Coleman? Why didn’t he come with you?" Sandy asked as she handed me a gift box, quite heavy.
"This is my gift for you, Eliana."
"Thank you" I accepted the gift box and pretended to look around, "I don’t know where Damon is. If you see him, can you tell Mr. Dennis I had to leave early?"
"Sure" Sandy nodded.
I took the gift box and left the Prosperity Hotel, hailing a cab on the roadside.
A black Bentley parked in front of me.
The window was half–open, and Damon’s gaze came from inside, I can give you a lift
"Sure" I replied immediately and hopped into the passenger seat.
Technically, I should keep my distance from Damon, but the thought of being pregnant with his child, and having to raise the child alone in the future made me think, why not enjoy the present while I can?
What’s the big deal about a car ride? I figured I was already being pretty modest, considering I wasn’t sitting on his head bossing him around.
I didn’t know what’s going on with Damon, but he’s been a little nicer to me since the divorce, which was weird. But after this trip abroad, I probably won’t be back for a couple of years. I plan to settle down, work, and have my baby.
I hope Ariel gets pregnant soon too. That way, even if the Coleman family found out about my baby, they won’t forcibly take it away.
On the road. I asked Damon," Why haven’t you told anyone about our divorce? Haven’t you told Ariel either?"
"I told her" Damon answered, looking sideways," I didn’t tell anyone else except a few close friends."
I fell silent. Just because he didn’t say it doesn’t mean word wouldn’t get out. How else would Sandy know?
"That Sandy girl likes you" I stated directly, "You and Ariel are in a long–distance relationship, aren’t you afraid you won’t be able to handle the loneliness?"
Damon’s face darkened a bit, "You just worry about yourself"
"I don’t have that many worries." I muttered.
Damon chuckled coldly, obviously disagreeing with my view
When we reached the hotel entrance, I unbuckled my seatbelt and got out of the car. Just as I was about to enter, Lana called out to me, "Eliana!"
I turned around, and she was holding some fruits, obviously just bought
"What did you buy?" I asked.
"Apples, bananas, strawberries, want some?" Lana asked.
I shook my head. Noticed Damon hadn’t left. Instead, he got out of the car. He looked at Lana the same way he looked at Jones.
Upon seeing Damon, Lana’s face immediately turned serious, even more so than when she saw Jones.
Her eyes were like those of an enemy.
I felt a pang of unease
"Long time no see" Damon broke the silence, his voice soft.
"Eliana, is he also your friend?" Lana ignored Damon and asked me instead.
I hesitated for a moment, then revealed his identity. "He’s not a friend He’s my ex-husband"
In that instant, I felt a hint of hostility in Lana’s eyes. She glanced between me and Damon, her face frosty
Suddenly, she rushed up to Damon and slapped him hard was stunned
A clear handprint emerged on Damons cheek. He didn’t say anything, just quietly stared at Lana.
"I’ve wanted to slap you for a long time. Remember, I was slapping for my sister!" Lana spat out angrily. "If it weren’t for her last request in her suicide note for us not to trouble you, I would’ve sought revenge a long time ago!"
I caught on to the key point in her words sister.
Was Lana in front of me Catherine’s sister?
Damon seemed to want to say something, but in the end, he said nothing and just looked at me.
"Did you not know he had someone else when you married him? You guys killed my only sister!" Lana accused me.
I was surprisingly calm, as if I had experienced many things and had become numb.
I spoke up. "I didn’t know. Your sister’s death has nothing to do with me. I didn’t even know your sister existed when I married Damon. If you want to take it out on someone, find the right person. I’m tired and I’m going to rest."
After that, I turned and walked away. I had just escaped this muddy path and didn’t want to get stuck again.
Lana seemed stunned, probably not expecting my response.
When I got back to my room, I chatted with Harry and asked him Lana’s real name. He responded: Karen Stewart, why do you ask?"
I replied Just curious.
Over an hour later, Lana returned. Her eyes were red and there was still anger on her face.
"I didn’t expect Damon’s wife to be you." She initiated the conversation.
"Haven’t you paid attention to him these past few years?" I asked indifferently.
Lana scoffed, "Pay attention to him? Every time I see him, I think of my poor sister. I’m afraid I won’t be able to restrain myself from seeking revenge!"
I understood that Karen had deep feelings for her sister Catherine, but she couldn’t shift her resentment onto me. In truth, I was also a victim.
Catherine paid with her life for this, didn’t she? And didn’t I? I just got a new lease on life.
I calmly said, "Karen, I’ve divorced Damon. I only learned about your sister when I was on the verge of divorce. I hope you can keep a clear head and not let personal grudges affect our work."
Karen didn’t say anything, just stared at me. After a while, she said, ’Damon met a girl who’s a lot like my sister, right? Did he divorce you for her?"
Looked like they’d been talking about a lot. I responded, "Part of the reason was that girl, but let me make it clear: I was the one who initiated the divorce, not Damon."
Karen seemed skeptical, "Didn’t he want to divorce you for that girl?"
Maybe she thought, given her sister paid with her life, she should be the biggest regret in Damon’s life.
If Damon wanted to divorce me after meeting Ariel, who resembled Catherine a lot, then in a way, it proved that Catherine was still the one Damon loved most.
