Chapter 47: An Elf as Her 6th Lover
Reyes took a deep breath, calming himself. His hands trembled as he sheathed his sword.
"We need to go back to the tent and warn the others," he said seriously.
Joel was still staring at the spot where the creature had disappeared. "But we need to know why it was here. This isn’t its territory. If something forced it out of its habitat, we have to find out what."
Viana remained silent, her mind still a mess. But she saw that her two royal guards looked ready to argue.
"If we go back now, the hunt might be called off," she murmured, stepping toward a large rock beneath a nearby tree.
Joel and Reyes followed her and sat around her.
"But if we continue hunting, the situation can remain calm without causing panic," she continued.
Reyes sighed. "Is keeping the mood steady more important than our lives? We almost got killed earlier!"
Joel thought for a moment before finally saying, "We can keep hunting while staying alert. If we notice any more signs, we’ll return immediately and warn the others."
Viana shook her head. "We can do both at the same time."
Joel and Reyes looked at her in surprise.
"Call the soldiers who are still with us, tell them to go to Prince Rayne and warn the others. We will continue investigating why that creature was here," Viana ordered after silent for a moment.
Reyes nodded and quickly stood up, calling over the two soldiers who were still with them. After giving his orders, the two soldiers hurried back to the camp to deliver the message to Prince Rayne.
Viana stood up again and gazed at the thickening forest ahead. "We need to track it," she said, stepping toward the last place the wolf had been seen disappearing.
Her two Royal Guards followed cautiously, scanning the leaf-covered ground. "We might be able to see its claw marks," Joel said.
They walked several meters into the forest before stopping to make sure they were heading in the right direction.
Reyes crouched down and brushed aside the scattered leaves. "There are tracks here," he said, pointing at the deep claw marks in the damp earth.
Viana crouched beside him, studying the pattern of the tracks. "It looks like it was injured earlier, but still managed to flee quickly."
Joel touched the ground and said, "It doesn’t seem like it’s too far ahead."
They exchanged glances before deciding to move deeper into the forest. As they walked further in, the scent of soil and wet leaves grew stronger around them.
After several more meters, Reyes suddenly stopped. "Look at this," he said, pointing to large gashes on a tree trunk. Viana stepped closer, her fingers tracing the deep claw marks.
Joel scanned the surroundings, but there was no sign of the wolf.
Suddenly, Viana caught movement from the corner of her eye and turned toward it. She saw the male magical wolf sitting atop a large rock in the middle of a small clearing within the dense forest.
The creature had stunning silver-white fur and piercing red eyes. It was licking the wound on its leg, its tongue gliding over the injury, which was still oozing a bit of blood. As time passed, the torn flesh began to knit itself back together.
Reyes stared in shock. "It’s healing itself," he whispered.
Joel held his breath, his hand already gripping the hilt of his sword. "Magical wolves have faster healing abilities, but we don’t know how long the process takes."
Viana remained silent, watching every movement of the creature. The wolf seemed calm—until suddenly, its head snapped up.
Its entire body tensed, and with quick movements, it stood. Its fur bristled as it let out a deep, rumbling growl.
Reyes muttered a curse under his breath and immediately drew his sword. "It knows we’re here."
Joel took a bow and arrow from Viana, preparing to aim. "We need to back away slowly."
But the wolf’s growl grew louder, its ears pinned back, its posture increasingly aggressive.
Then, in one swift motion, it leaped toward them. Viana reacted instantly, darting sideways while shouting, "Spread out!"
Yet the wolf ignored the others—it chased after Viana, the human it had already marked as its pursuer.

Viana ran as fast as she could, her breath quick and heavy with fear as the magical wolf chased her at a terrifying speed. Joel and Reyes tried to keep up, but they quickly fell behind.
The wolf’s sharp claws nearly reached Viana’s back when, suddenly, a shadow emerged from the trees. Moving with incredible speed, the figure leaped onto the large wolf and placed a hand on its head.
A faint green light radiated from his palm, touching the magical wolf’s head. In an instant, the wolf staggered and collapsed to the ground, unconscious.
Viana stopped, her eyes wide as she switched her gaze between the wolf and their mysterious savior.
A man stood before the unconscious magical wolf. And he possessed an unnatural beauty—his skin was pale like the moon, his long silver hair gleamed under the dim forest light, and two pointed ears peeked from beneath his hair.
An elf.
His emerald eyes met Viana’s with a calm intensity before he finally sighed. "You shouldn’t have chased it," he said, his voice soft yet firm.
Joel and Reyes approached, both looking shocked. Reyes immediately placed his hand on the hilt of his sword, ready in case the elf had ill intentions.
Viana was still trying to process what had just happened. But before she could ask anything further, a transparent paper suddenly appeared before her.
[Revisement on the current task.]
[Last target added:
Obtain the love of the sixth person;
Name: Eryndor Veltharis
Species: Elf.]
Viana stared at the transparent paper, feeling her blood turn cold.
What just happened?! Why did the system designate this elf as part of her harem target?!
Eryndor, the elf, observed Viana’s expression and raised an eyebrow. "You look surprised. Is something wrong?" he asked calmly.
The transparent paper vanished from Viana’s sight, and she quickly tried to act normal again before replying, "No... I just didn’t expect to see an elf in this place."
Eryndor smirked slightly. "And I didn’t expect to see a human girl recklessly chasing a magical wolf alone."
