The Princess' Harem
Chapter 44: Harem formed

Chapter 44: Harem formed

Viana sat on her bed, still feeling exhausted from the incident in the forest. But her mind refused to rest.

Too many things had happened in such a short time, and she was still trying to process everything, too confused to accept that all of it was real.

Everyone was paying more attention to her now, so different from her past life, where she was seen as spoiled and judged harshly by others.

Even the King and Queen now seemed to admire her, proud of her accomplishments.

Suddenly, the transparent paper appeared before her. Just looking at it made her headache.

"Oh no, this again..." she muttered, assuming that the annoying thing would give her another task, always coming too late when she had already finished something.

But, as always, the paper ignored her frustration and displayed its new message:

Love Percentages:

Kaley: 30%

Reyes: 25%

Joel: 15%

Rayne Elwick: 28%

Arden Daelis: 9%

Viana almost choked when she saw the numbers. Kaley at 30%?! Reyes at 25%?!

Even more surprising was Joel’s increase, jumping from 5% to 10%.

Viana stared at the paper with a complicated expression. "So, just because we fell into a ravine and talked a little, his love percentage rose that much?"

She let out a long sigh and grumbled, "This system really makes no sense."

She knew that human hearts were unpredictable, but she still blamed the system for frustrating her.

Before she could complain again, the transparent paper flickered and showed another message.

[You have completed your task as a Maiden at the temple. Your reward will be given soon.]

Viana narrowed her eyes and asked, "Where is my reward?"

Then, the text on the transparent paper changed again, displaying:

[The second trust from the King, to officially form a harem.]

Once again, Viana froze. An official harem?

Suddenly, she remembered King Clive’s words, saying that the incident in the forest must never happen again. He also mentioned something important—Viana needed people she could fully trust.

And that seemed to be the reason why the system had given her this "second trust."

"So, I can really start gathering men for my harem?" Viana murmured, unsure whether she should laugh or cry.

With the Love Percentage system, she had already made those men fall in love with her. For now, their numbers were still below 50%.

She couldn’t even imagine what would happen if they reached 75% or higher.

"I hope everything goes smoothly," she thought, feeling a slight doubt creeping in about her harem plan.

The next morning, when Viana finally felt recovered enough, she was summoned to meet King Clive in his study. She wondered what it was about, since her father rarely called for her, and the unexpected request made her feel a little uneasy.

When she entered the study, the King was already seated at his desk with a serious expression. He nodded at her as she greeted him.

"Viana," he said in a calm tone. "I have been thinking about many things since the incident in the forest yesterday."

Viana sat in the chair before him, waiting for him to continue. "And?"

The King let out a long sigh before speaking again. "You have shown maturity and the ability to handle difficult situations. But some things cannot be done by one person alone, especially a princess."

Viana remained silent, carefully listening to what he had to say.

"I have made a decision," he said. "From now on, you are allowed to choose people who will assist you, those who will stand by your side in every journey and in important tasks for the kingdom."

Viana froze. That meant...

’I really have the trust to form a harem?’ she thought, still unable to believe it.

"I want you to surround yourself with people you can trust," the King continued. "If you feel that someone deserves a position you see as necessary, I will not oppose it."

This was a huge opportunity. It meant that her harem could be officially established without resistance from the kingdom.

But now, she was confused about how to respond. Should she be grateful, or should she pretend not to care too much?

In the end, she only nodded slightly and answered quietly, "I understand, Father."

The King gave a faint smile, looking at her warmly. "Good. I trust you, Viana."

And with that meeting, Viana had officially been granted the right to form her own harem. But what was the purpose of the third trust?

She left the King’s study with her mind full of thoughts about what the third trust, promised by the system, could mean.

Viana let out a long sigh as she left the King’s study. She had truly been given the freedom to form her own harem.

But how was she supposed to do it? Should she build a separate palace for them? Keep them in different areas for better organization? Or should she leave things as they were for now?

After thinking it through carefully, Viana decided not to rush. After all, their Love Percentages were still below 50%.

There was no urgency to gather everyone in one place right away. Besides, constructing another palace just for her harem would draw too much attention. For now, letting things progress naturally seemed like the best approach.

However, there was one issue she needed to start figuring out, how to ensure they stayed close to her without making others suspicious.

One of Viana’s biggest concerns in saving Elysia was how to manage the kingdom’s government and finances. She understood that she lacked expertise in these areas.

The more she studied, the clearer it became that she needed someone who truly understood the subject well.

That was why she decided to enlist Arden Daelis, a young man who had recently graduated from Valendale Empire Academy with outstanding achievements. He was one of the most brilliant minds in governance and finance, and Viana knew his presence would be invaluable, especially as her tutor.

A few days later, Arden arrived at the palace, fulfilling the promise he had made in his letter.

Viana met him in the drawing room, sitting with a graceful and warm demeanor as if she had known him for a long time. Joel and Reyes stood a short distance away, watching the meeting unfold.

"Arden, I have followed your academic journey, and I am impressed by your intelligence in governance and economic matters," Viana said.

Arden bowed respectfully, trying to remain professional despite his slight nervousness. "Thank you for your kind words, Your Highness."

Viana took a sip of her tea and spoke with a cheerful tone. "I want you to be my personal tutor. I need someone who can provide me with deeper knowledge on how to manage the kingdom more effectively."

Arden looked slightly surprised but quickly composed himself. "I am honored by this offer. If I can help you strengthen your understanding of government and finance, I will gladly accept the position."

Viana smiled in satisfaction. "Good. Thank you for agreeing."

The announcement of the Royal Hunt had stirred excitement across the kingdom. Nobles, knights, and invited guests were preparing for the grand event, an age-old tradition meant to showcase skill, strategy, and strength.

For Viana, however, this hunt held a different significance, it was another step in asserting herself within the kingdom’s affairs and an opportunity to evaluate her chosen allies.

The hunting grounds were being meticulously prepared under the supervision of palace officials. Vast stretches of land deep within the western forests were designated for the event, carefully enclosed by natural borders to ensure safety.

The grounds were divided into several zones: one for smaller game such as deer and wild boars, and another for larger, more dangerous creatures that required advanced tactics and teamwork to hunt.

Viana stood at the balcony overlooking the palace courtyards, watching as servants rushed about, packing supplies, weapons, and provisions for the trip. It would take several days to finalize everything. Her mind was already calculating who among her chosen circle should accompany her.

She turned to Reyes, who stood beside her with arms crossed. "Have the preparations for the hunting grounds been completed?"

Reyes nodded. "Almost. The scouts have mapped the terrain, and the palace trackers have confirmed the presence of game. Traps have been set for regulation hunts, and the knights will patrol the outer boundaries to ensure no rogue beasts enter the area unexpectedly."

Joel, standing nearby, chimed in, "Your Majesty, will you be leading your own hunting team?"

Viana contemplated the question. Typically, royalty observed from a distance while the nobles and knights carried out the hunt.

But she had never been one to sit idly on the sidelines. "I will," she finally answered. "This is an excellent opportunity to test the capability of those I intend to keep close."

Joel smirked. "Then I assume Reyes and I will be part of this team?"

"Of course," Viana said, her tone decisive. "I need skilled fighters, and both of you qualify."

She then glanced toward Arden Daelis, who had just arrived from a strategy meeting regarding the hunt.

He was not a fighter like the others, but his intelligence and quick thinking made him a valuable presence. "And you, Arden. Would you be willing to join? Not as a hunter, but as an observer."

Arden raised a brow but nodded. "I suppose I could assess the effectiveness of the teams and their tactics. Knowledge of logistics and resourcefulness is key in an event like this."

Viana smirked with satisfaction. "Good. Then let’s ensure everything runs smoothly."
