The Princess' Harem -
Chapter 142: The Nature as Her Spy
Chapter 142: The Nature as Her Spy
They all talked in the room, and the king and queen asked about Viana’s journey, about the state of the Elf forest, and subtly hinted at their curiosity about the ’Forest Blessing’ their child received.
Eryndor answered carefully, not explaining in detail about Viana’s new power, but rather how she found a deeper connection with nature, just like the Elves.
"Your daughter has a pure soul," Eryndor explained in a calm voice. "She has understood that understanding nature is about maintaining balance."
Viana saw her parents breathe a sigh of relief, trusting Eryndor’s words. He occasionally glanced at her, giving a warm look that only they both understood.
The conversation went on for some time, just small talk. Joel and Reyes stood not far from them all, a little curious about what happened during the princess’s journey.
Finally, Eryndor excused himself. "My duty here is done, Your Majesties, King and Queen," he said to them, and bowed once more. "I will return to the Elven Kingdom."
"We are very grateful for all that has been given to us, Lord Eryndor," Queen Isabella said, returning his bow. "May your journey be blessed."
Eryndor then shifted his gaze to Viana, who promised with her eyes that they would meet again in not too long.

After Eryndor left, Viana felt returned to a life full of her responsibilities. But she would not complain, the Viana now was very different from her life yesterday, even from her past.
She had not yet changed her clothes, when she arrived in her room, she was greeted by a crowd of familiar faces, who had been waiting for her anxiously. Arden, Sina, and even Cooper, the young boy she had taken in, along with Joel and Reyes, they were her closest people in the palace.
All their eyes looked relieved, but also full of curiosity about what happened when she was in the Elven Kingdom.
"Your Royal Highness, you are not hurt, are you?" Sina asked, who had been her personal servant since she was little. The middle-aged woman reflexively checked Viana’s arm, and examined her face, looking for signs of injury.
"I’m fine, Sina," Viana smiled and then hugged her servant. "The Elves are friendly people."
Arden, who had read about the Elves, could not contain his curiosity and asked, "We heard Lord Eryndor escorted you himself to the palace," he said excitedly, his handsome face flushing slightly. "That is an unusual honor from the Elves."
They all spoke in turn, including Cooper, who looked at Viana with awe. "Princess, can you really talk to animals?" he asked innocently.
Viana hugged him, who was sitting next to her, and smiled warmly at him. "Do you think so?" she asked back, winking and stroking Cooper’s hair affectionately.
What she felt when she was with the child was different from the complex emotions of adults. His curiosity was so pure, and it calmed her.
"Princess must be able to!" With a joyful shout, he rose from his seat and jumped up and down happily, making she chuckled.
Sina, who stood beside Viana, had been busy observing her beloved Princess, and gently touched her shoulder. "Your Highness must be tired. Let me prepare warm water for a bath and clean clothes."
"Of course, Sina," Viana nodded, and Sina left.
"Alright, Your Royal Highness," Joel said in a formal yet gentle tone. "We will leave you to rest."
"Get enough rest, Princess," Reyes added, and led Cooper out of the room, along with Joel and Arden.
Sina promptly prepared fragrant bath water and helped Viana remove her dirty, forest-smelling clothes.
After cleaning herself, she put on a soft silk sleeping robe. She then stood before the mirror, looking at herself, who felt different to her.
Although she felt refreshed, but her mind was not as calm as when she was in the woods.
Her eyes seemed sharper, her skin looked healthier, and she also looked calmer and more composed. She then combed her long blonde hair, tidying it, and then got ready for bed.
But, when she just lay on the head of the bed, closing her eyes, and emptying her mind. She let her senses expand, crossing the palace walls, through the ground to the edge of the capital.
She was searching for a different ’sound’, the sound and sign of her husband from her past life. But it was not as easy as imagined.
The capital of Elysia consisted of chaotic, complex intertwined webs of emotions. Viana continued to focus herself, searching for the thread closest to Lazarus from millions of existing threads.
And, she found it. Viana focused her ’hearing’ more deeply, following the faint roots that stretched out of the capital.
Finally, she could feel that Lazarus was in his room in his castle, which she still remembered from her past life as his study.
She shivered imagining that luxurious but eerie room. And then she felt there was someone else, and she knew who.
Lazarus’s trusted man, Dexter, the shadow assistant.
They seemed to be talking, and unfortunately, Viana could not hear their conversation. Her connection was limited only to the roots that spread underground.
Her curiosity began to strengthen, but she also did not want to hear their conversation.
Finally, she decided to pull her consciousness back. Expanding her consciousness that far made her feel tired, but at least she could now know Lazarus and his movements.
She then lay in bed, and thought before falling asleep.
"Tomorrow I will ask the birds nearby for help, and also the mice, the insects, to be my eyes and ears. I will not let Lazarus make new plans, which I clearly will not know how to deal with..."
Her thoughts were very reasoned. Up until the invasion of Arin’s army, everything that happened, she knew from her previous life.
And now, she did not want to fumble in the dark, alone. Until this moment, no one knew about her struggle against Lazarus.
A young girl of nineteen with a man who was already entering his thirties, who was cunning.
