Chapter 1182: 574 Jiaojiao and Long Yi (two updates) Chapter 1182: 574 Jiaojiao and Long Yi (two updates) Gu Jiao slept until the afternoon.

Long Yi had already been taken out by Xiao Hen, leaving only Gu Jiao alone in the room.

Gu Jiao sat up and looked around her bedchamber, pondering for quite a while.

“Hmm, did I climb up here myself?”

Today there were classes at the Guozijian and Qinghe Academy, but recently Gu Chengfeng had been busy helping Gu Jiao “punish the wicked and dispel evil,” so he had asked for leave from the Academy due to ill health.

He had originally asked for one day off but took the liberty of extending it to two days.

When Gu Jiao came out of the east room, he was chopping wood in the Backyard. Seeing Gu Jiao, he stopped his chopping and waved to her.

Gu Jiao walked over indifferently, “Is there something you need?”

Gu Chengfeng looked around and lowered his voice, “Come here, I have something to tell you.”

“What is it?” Gu Jiao did not go over.

Gu Chengfeng clicked his tongue, set down the axe, and adeptly wiped his hands with a rag before leaning close to Gu Jiao’s ear and whispered, “It’s just…”

Before he could finish, a tall figure descended from above, grabbed his collar, and whooshed him away!

Gu Chengfeng, hung on the tree branch, was completely dumbfounded.

Whaaat?

Gu Jiao hummed in confusion.

How did he offend Long Yi?

It wasn’t long before Little Jingkong returned from the Guozijian.

“Jiaojiao, Jiaojiao! I had an exam today!”

Little Jingkong dashed into the Backyard and took out his exam paper to show to Gu Jiao.

Unsurprisingly, it was another big “A”.

Gu Jiao rubbed Jingkong’s head, “Jingkong is so clever.”

Little Jingkong looked down, fidgeting with his fingers, shyly whispering, “I want to give Jiaojiao a kiss.”

Then he too was whisked away by Long Yi—

Gu Jiao watched their receding figures, rubbing her chin in an odd manner.

Just then, Xiao Hen came back with a basket of Chicken Eggs, his face unperturbed as he showed them to Gu Jiao, “These are from Granny Zhou, saying it’s thanks for your help the other time with her grandson’s cold.”

Gu Jiao looked at him intently, “Is that so?”

“Ah, yes.” Xiao Hen took the basket back, “I’ll put it in the kitchen room.”

He brushed past Gu Jiao.

Turning around, Gu Jiao’s gaze followed him, squinting as she followed into the kitchen, “Did you say something to Long Yi?”

“Say what?” Xiao Hen calmly placed the basket on the stove, opening the jar for the eggs and putting them in one by one.

Gu Jiao inquired, “Then why won’t Long Yi let anyone get close to me?”

Xiao Hen, with his back to Gu Jiao, placed eggs into the jar. The corners of his lips unconsciously curved, then he turned back with an expressionless face, “Really?”

“Really,” Gu Jiao nodded.

Xiao Hen replied with a straight face, “Perhaps Long Yi is just playing around with them.”

Gu Jiao thought for a moment, “Oh.”

After Xiao Hen placed the last egg, he turned to look at Gu Jiao, who was leaning against the stove lost in thought. The evening sun shone obliquely through the doorway, casting a perfect profile on her face, making her lashes gleam in the light.

Xiao Hen’s gaze flickered, “That…”

“Hmm?” Gu Jiao looked up at him, puzzled.

“Here…” Xiao Hen pointed at her temple.

Gu Jiao raised a hand to feel it but found nothing.

Xiao Hen walked over and extended his left hand which hadn’t handled the eggs, plucking a small leaf that had landed on Gu Jiao’s temple at some point.

Their proximity was close, their breaths entwined in the quiet room.

Xiao Hen lowered his head, his lips almost touching her forehead.

“What is it?” Gu Jiao looked up at him.

Xiao Hen gazed at the face so near, his heart pounding he tilted his head, leaning gently towards her.

The very next second, a shadow flashed by, and Xiao Hen was taken away by Long Yi!

Xiao Hen: “?!”

Xiao Hen’s ‘others’—apart from me, all are ‘others’.

Long Yi’s ‘others’—all are ‘others.’

In the afternoon, Gu Jiao went to the Iron Shop and handed a blueprint to the blacksmith.

The blacksmith looked at the peculiar blueprint and said with difficulty, “We’ve never made anything like this.”

Gu Jiao asked, “Can you make it?”

The blacksmith answered, “We can make it, but… it might not turn out as nice as it is on your blueprint.”

Gu Jiao said, “Just make it first, we will see later.”

“Eh!”

After leaving the Iron Shop, Gu Jiao headed to the Medical Hall.

She opened the first aid kit, looking at the fully stocked First Aid Medicine, she frowned, “Still no appearance of the material for making the receptor, do I really need to go and cut some resin?”

While murmuring to herself, Er Dongjia rushed into her Courtyard in a flurry, “Miss Gu! Something big has happened!”

Gu Jiao came out from the house, “What’s happened?”
