The Pregnant Mommy Survive on Unlimited Supplies -

Chapter 213: Qin Zhen is increasingly at odds with this opinion.
When Hua Mi finished collecting the supplies, level 23 storage had burst to level 24, earning her another chance for a lottery draw.
Now it was [Remaining Lottery Draws X3]
By the time Hua Mi found Gong Yi, the bodies in the entire Red Light District had already been neatly arranged by the Garrison and placed on an open space.
The weapons held by the bodies had been stored in various containers.
Hua Mi craned her neck to peer into the containers, which mostly contained pistols, worn but not new, seeming to be at least a decade or two old.
Weapons were different from other supplies; Gong Yi would reclaim these. The Garrison would have people inspect the firearms, storing usable ones in the armory for future needs.
The unusable ones were to be destroyed on the spot. Gong Yi wouldn’t allow these weapons to end up in the survivor community.
Seeing Hua Mi staring continuously at the weapons in the containers, Gong Yi walked over, pinched the back of her neck, and pulled her backward,
"These firearms are prone to misfire, so play less with them."
He knew she had more sophisticated weapons in her possession, so if she wanted to play, she should play with her own, not these inferior ones.
Hua Mi let out an "Ouch" as Gong Yi pulled her aside, then she looked at the bodies on the ground and asked,
"What’s going to happen to these bodies?"
Gong Yi glanced at Hua Mi, "Crematorium."
"Then I can help by driving to transport these bodies to the crematorium."
Hua Mi’s fox-like eyes twinkled merrily at Gong Yi. Just one look at her indicated she was not the type to stay out of trouble.
Gong Yi pondered for a moment before nodding,
"After you’ve transported the bodies, wait for me at your RV supermarket. We’ll go see Dr. Xin."
He didn’t quite trust Hua Mi and was afraid she would get up to something again. He gave her several more cautious instructions in his fussy manner.
Hua Mi was in one ear and out the other, nodding along while watching all the bodies being loaded into the vehicles.
Finally, unable to wait any longer, she sprinted toward the large truck already loaded with bodies and drove off.
This made Gong Yi sigh heavily.
What good is military training if she’s his wife, not one of his Garrison troops?
And sweetly reminding her—that woman wasn’t listening at all.
What could Gong Yi do?
On the outskirts of the Red Light District, Ma Zhixuan watched with wide eyes as Hua Mi drove the large truck onto the Xiang A Highway, racing towards Xiang City.
Under Cao Feng’s vigilant and implicitly mocking gaze, a sense of defeat suddenly surged within him.
There was no helping it; the Red Light District was strictly off-limits. No matter how long Ma Zhixuan waited outside the Red Light District, in the end, he could only return to Xiang City in dejection.
When Ma Zhixuan came, he had walked with Qin Xiaolan.
But on the way back, he called his sister-in-law and had her send a car to pick him up.
The Xiang A Highway had been completely shut down at the point leading up to the Red Light District.
Many survivors had started walking on the Xiang A Highway.
Snowflakes beating against their bodies, those in thin clothes were already frozen purple.
Fortunately, the ubiquitous street vendors had set up their stalls right outside the Red Light District.
Some stalls had already begun selling coral fleece four-piece sets.
They got their goods from the RV supermarket and brought them to sell on the Xiang A and Xiang B Highways. Although they were coral fleece four-piece sets, in this weather, they were selling extremely well.
After purchasing the coral fleece sets, the survivors would wrap the warm fabric around themselves and cover it with a raincoat.
Though it wasn’t attractive, it was exceptionally warm.
Among these shivering survivors, a car stopped by the roadside.
Ma Zhixuan, trembling, walked over and opened the car door, inside sat the wife of the Commander of City C, Qin Zhen.
Seeing Ma Zhixuan sit down, Qin Zhen, supporting her protruding pregnant belly, frowned,
"What’s happened? Where’s Xiao Lan?"
Qin Xiaolan was a distant relative of Qin Zhen’s family; they had met in Xiang City, knowing that Qin Xiaolan had no boyfriend and that Ma Zhixuan also had no girlfriend, so Qin Zhen introduced them to each other.
Ma Zhixuan pinched the bridge of his nose,
"It’s too chaotic here; she might have already run out with the other survivors heading back to Xiang City."
He thought that Qin Xiaolan wasn’t foolish; with legs of her own, she wouldn’t just run around aimlessly.
With the Garrison’s firepower closing in, where could she go if not back to Xiang City?
This was why Ma Zhixuan hadn’t listened to Hua Mi’s suggestion to mobilize all resources to look for her.
His brother’s connections and influence left in Xiang City were for legitimate purposes, not to be used to look for someone capable of returning to Xiang City on her own.
Qin Zhen acknowledged it and told the driver to start the car. On the way, she continued to speak to Ma Zhixuan,
"If she’s truly worried about her brother and wants to find Qin Ziran, then she should properly register him on the missing persons bulletin online or post a notice on the search wall."
"Dragging you around all day, what’s she thinking? Now look, almost ran right into the Garrison’s gunpoint; if something happened to you, how would I explain it to your brother?"
Because the number of survivors from Xiang and B Cities was increasing, over time, the orderly Xiang and B Cities saw the emergence of an online forum dedicated to finding people.
The internet connections of both cities were linked.
Xiang City and B City also each had a physical search wall.
No organization or leader prompted this; it naturally developed in Xiang and B Cities.
And it’s said that this online forum and search wall have helped many people find their relatives.
Although Qin Zhen and Qin Xiaolan were relatives, they had not been in contact for a long time and had not visited each other.
Now she was even somewhat regretting having introduced Qin Xiaolan to Ma Zhixuan.
No other reason than Qin Zhen felt that Qin Xiaolan was too petty.
The ancients talked about matching familial and social statuses, there was a reason for that.
Now that the world had changed like this, the entire global order was restructuring, and both Ma Yongchun and Zhou Cheng of City C were striving to adapt to the new rules and order.
Although Qin Zhen lived in Xiang City, pregnant and nurturing her child, she wasn’t idle; even with her belly grown large, she was engaging in "ladies’ diplomacy" with the wealthy wives from City C.
The goal was to scrape together some money from these affluent individuals to buy supplies for City C.
Everyone was working hard in their respective roles, fighting to increase the chances for the people of City C to survive.
Everyone was desperately clinging to life.
Yet when one looked at Qin Xiaolan, every time she went out with Ma Zhixuan, it was to carry gifts of various sizes purchased from market stalls back to Xiang City.
Going shopping, letting Ma Zhixuan pay, had become the daily routine of their romance.
Apart from these activities, Qin Xiaolan was searching for her brother.
Now, she had even taken Ma Zhixuan to the Red Light District to look for her brother.
In times like these, didn’t Qin Xiaolan think of anything else?
To the point that Qin Xiaolan, this girl, had severely limited Ma Zhixuan’s perspective.
Qin Zhen’s objections kept growing.
Her tone was somewhat harsh,
"Since you’re not married now, you should break up with Xiao Lan. Think it over, Zhixuan."
