Chapter 111: Chapter 108: Uneasy Snowy Night (Part 2)

"Junior Brother Zhu Ge, you cannot stop me!" declared the uninvited guest.

His voice, still amplified by True Qi, spread throughout the entire Mountain River Academy.

"What the hell? Is it fashionable now for big shots to come with their own microphones? They speak as if they want the whole world to hear. But ’Junior Brother Zhu Ge’—could it be Dean Zhuge Longsu? Incredible, Mountain River Academy actually has two Divinity Realm masters. I thought there was only one."

As Qing Yu pricked up his ears to listen, he muttered to himself.

The exemption policy that Mountain River Academy gave to senior officials of the Northern Zhou Court, which spared them from examinations, was initiated by the current Dean, Zhuge Longsu, and it had faced much criticism from members of the Confucian sect. Qing Yu had thought that Zhuge Longsu had weaker fists than Meng Shanhe, lacking confidence, thus reluctantly opening such a loophole.

Unexpectedly, this Zhuge Longsu also turned out to be a Divinity Realm master.

"Ming Rui elder brother, step back. Beneath the Haqi River, you stand no chance."

Perhaps not to tarnish the prestige of Mountain River Academy, Zhuge Longsu had arrived on the scene but still initiated over-the-speaker mode to call out.

Then there was another earth-shattering tremor—if it wasn’t for the Haqi River in the sky, the entire Mountain River Academy would probably have been smashed to ruins by now.

Let’s shift our view to the gate of the academy.

Zhuge Longsu stood in the air, his presence merging with the Haqi River above, filling heaven and earth with Vast Righteous Qi.

Facing him, outside the academy gate, another man similarly dressed in a white Confucian robe and appearing a decade older than Zhuge Longsu, with three strands of a lush beard under his cheeks, stood suspended in the air as well. A halo of white True Qi above his head formed a bright sun, confronting Zhuge Longsu.

His momentum might not be as overwhelming as Zhuge Longsu’s, capable of enveloping half of Datong Mountain, but in the clash of auras, he did not fall the least bit short.

"Ming Rui elder brother, we are brothers in the same sect—why resort to conflict within our own Shi? Retreat, please." In the sky, Zhuge Longsu maintained his usual affable expression, indicating that he still had strength to spare in this confrontation.

Tonight’s uninvited guest, Elder Brother Ming Rui, however, coldly retorted with a sneer, "To resort to conflict within our own Shi, one must be part of the same Shi to begin with. I have long since broken away, so what conflict within our own Shi is there to speak of?"

"If that’s the case," sighed Zhuge Longsu, "then don’t blame your junior brother for not showing mercy."

As soon as his words fell, Zhuge Longsu’s breath stirred the Haqi River, causing it to spread out and extend beyond the Mountain River Academy, spanning across the entire Datong Mountain. Within it flowed incessantly, emitting sounds like those of an actual river.

"The world possesses Vast Righteous Qi, it takes on many forms..." With Zhuge Longsu’s chanting, figures began to appear atop the Haqi River. They were disciples from past generations of Mountain River Academy who had cultivated Vast Righteous Qi, all reciting the ’Righteous Qi Ode.’

"Ming Rui, take my attack." Zhuge Longsu no longer addressed Ming Rui as elder brother, ready to truly consider him an enemy.

"How could I be afraid of you." Ming Rui sneered coldly, and the bright sun above his head grew more immense. Yet, unlike the real sun spreading light everywhere, it seemed to solidify into a tangible entity.

"Heavenly Principle is supreme, inner sage and outer king. Zhuge Longsu, take my attack."

Ming Rui elevated the bright sun, clashing head-on with the oncoming Haqi River.

As the two collided, both were extremely domineering, their True Qi pressing down on the heterodox, resulting in a collision as if mountains had plunged into rivers, stirring up violent impacts with endless loud rumblings.

Seated in his room and listening intently, Qing Yu felt a throbbing headache from the noise and almost tumbled to the ground. Adding a line like "Divine Communication Experts are terrifying indeed" certainly wasn’t an exaggeration at this point. Qing Yu thought ironically.

"Whoa." Outside the academy gate, Ming Rui suddenly spat out a mouthful of blood, staining the pristine white Confucian robe with a splash of red across his chest.

"Ming Rui, since you dared to invade Mountain River Academy, you must pay the price," declared Zhuge Longsu from the skies, utterly composed and showing no signs of weariness.

"We are, after all, brothers of the same Academy. I will not harm you. You need only to stay by our teacher’s side in the future, day and night, and heed his teachings. I hope the day comes when we can be of the same Shi again."

"Hehe..." Ming Rui’s face showed no sign of disarray. Instead, he wore a smug expression, "Today’s battle is not a matter of me being inferior to you, but of the teacher choosing you!"

"Zhuge Longsu, you are not truly of the Divine Communication."

Suddenly, Ming Rui bellowed, "Mountain River Academy, harboring Emperor Martial Art, feigns benevolence and righteousness, but harbors ill intent. Do you wish to emulate Emperor Daqian?"

"Do you wish to emulate Emperor Daqian...?"

"Emperor Daqian..."

Empowered by a Divine Communication Expert, this thunderous voice echoed within Divine Capital, reaching even the inner city.

"Ming Rui, you are reckless!" Zhuge Longsu’s face showed the first sign of anger as the swirling Haqi River in the sky surged down once more.

"Heh, angered by being exposed, are we?" As the primary target beneath this overwhelming force, Ming Rui remained nonchalant and defenseless.

Because a blood-colored spear shadow cut the roaring Haqi River in half, its momentum unabated, aiming for Zhuge Longsu, only to be scattered by the continuous river of Haqi.

In the dark forest, a towering murderous aura evolved into the momentum of ferocious battles. A tall figure, wielding a blood-colored spear, clad in pitch-black armor, and wearing a Black Iron Ghost Mask, was making his way step by step into the sky, standing side by side with Ming Rui.

"Ming Rui has seen the Divine Marquis," said Ming Rui, as he voluntarily took a step back and saluted the figure that seemed like a ghostly deity.

"Daqian War God, Luo Feng," intoned Zhuge Longsu, pausing after each word, "Daqian dares to send you here, without fear that you will fall in Great Zhou."

"The stray dog of a fallen house dares to call itself Great Zhou," came a deep voice from beneath the Black Iron Ghost Mask, filled with indescribable mockery, "This Marquis comes and goes as he pleases. Who can stop me? Who dares to stop me?"

"You..."

"Dean Zhuge, allow me to assist you." A phoenix cry rang out, and a Five-Colored Flying Phoenix appeared above Divine Capital, swiftly arriving above Datong Mountain.

"I am Feng Mingxiao and have seen Duke Shenwu," a figure robed in a brilliant five-colored phoenix garb approached, seemingly slow but quick in reality.

The arrival of strong reinforcements did not bring any joy to Zhuge Longsu. For the soaring momentum on Datong Mountain should have been detected by Feng Mingxiao, a woman of exquisite beauty and high Realm, long ago. Her appearance now was simply because she had heard some news that pleased her.

And what news could that be, if not Emperor Martial Art?

"Enough talk. I’ve come here only to safely take Ming Rui back with me. Whoever dares to obstruct, under the Slaughter Spear, I don’t lack for Divine Communication heads," declared Duke Shenwu Luo Feng, holding his spear aloft in the sky, as if standing amidst a blood-stained battlefield.

"Dean Zhuge, why don’t we call upon Mountain Master Meng? With the three of us, we should be able to make Duke Shenwu fall here," spoke Feng Mingxiao.

For her, a member of the Northern Zhou Imperial Family, the death of the Daqian War God on this land was most desirable.

"This..." Zhuge Longsu hesitated for a moment.

The abrupt end of this Chapter, don’t blame me, it’s almost midnight and I need to post it.
