Chapter 92: The Crystal Forest

"Hey...!" Eira wanted to protest, but ignore it, and Selene had no objection.

Finally, I organized our roles. I would be in the vanguard along with Lys and Selene, while Eira and Aurora would support us with magic.

We went deep into the jungle. The vegetation was strange; some plants looked like they were made of crystal, and indeed, I collected them, as they are something I need.

After a few minutes, several beasts began to appear. They were strange creatures, made of crystal, with rays of light inside them, like different colored lasers reflecting inside them.

There were many of them, easily more than ten, but by the presence they gave off, they were approximately two, three or four stars.

So, without a word, Lys, Selene and I began the slaughter, as I studied the beasts with my Eyes of Lust.

The weapons I gave them shattered the beasts as if they were fragile crystals. We didn’t need magical support.

The battle continued as we approached the pillar of light that loomed in the distance, for those who knew nothing was a clear objective, of course I knew that it was indeed the door to the next test.

I knew from what I heard from my alternate self that the longer you spend in this forest, the more dangerous it becomes, but also the greater the reward. I planned to make the most of this place.

The further we progressed, the more difficult the beasts became. We went from facing 10 to 15, then 15 to 20, all four-star.

Even though it was getting complicated, none of us found it impossible and with the coordination, which I made sure to guide, we were able to defeat these crystal beasts.. I knew this was only the first examination; a minimum requirement to be the companion of someone sponsored by a god.

After an hour and a half, we were facing 50 beasts, including ten five-stars. The pressure was enormous, but after 20 minutes of intense battle, we managed to defeat them.

Despite their strength, their weaknesses made them more manageable. already the rest of the team, I knew how to identify these weaknesses, without requiring something like my lust eyes, which made the battle easier.

After the victory, the remains of the beasts began to glow, and a certain amount of energy was absorbed by each of us. I felt myself getting stronger, and as I checked my status window, I saw that my stats had improved by at least 10 points overall, since I started in this domain.

In this world, besides training and fighting, there are things that can increase your strength, such as plants, animal parts, medicine, even bizarre things like these artificial beasts and most importantly, the rewards from the gods’ quests.

well, it is normal to let the youngsters grow with training and fights instead of external factors, at least until they have three metamorphoses.

but equally these things are difficult and almost impossible to find, in the kingdom, and not even my family could do it.

this is the first time i’ve come across something that directly improves my stats, besides the dual sync ability. and i planned to take full advantage of it.

However, just as we were about to continue, I sensen over 100 beasts approaching from all sides. They were four- and five-star, but this time, the five-star dominated.

When they came on my radar, Eira and Aurora, who were mages, noticed them too.

There were more of them than I expected.

I shouted, and we all headed for the pillar, which was no more than a minute’s run away. But the beasts were faster.

I analyze the situation, and calculate the possible solutions and consequences, so take what you consider to be the best alternative.

I grabbed Selene and Aurora, and with great momentum, launched them toward the pillar of light like missiles. They didn’t even understand what had happened.

"You piece of shit! What did you do to my her... nyaaa!" Eira screamed, but before she could finish, I threw her towards the pillar as well.

"Wait, Chris! What are you doin.... gyaa!" Lys was next to fly towards the pillar.

Once I saw that they went through the pillar of light, I stopped. It would be dangerous for them, I thought it would be dangerous for them to withstand that amount and strength of the glass beasts..

For me, it was time to take advantage of the situation. I jumped towards the beasts, which numbered over 100, and began attacking them at their weak points, tearing them apart mercilessly.

I knew my chances were high, and with the Eyes of Lust, I was able to pinpoint each weakness with quick precision.

I danced among the beasts, dodging and destroying them. No matter their rank, a well-aimed hit in the right spot was enough to shatter them.

I was catching my breath from the hard fight I had a few moments ago.

Several hours had passed since I started facing the beasts. The number of defeated creatures had exceeded 300, and the difficulty was rapidly increasing.

I was now standing on a pile of crystalline fragments of the creatures that had fallen before me. Although the strength of the beasts increased with each new wave they did not go beyond 5 stars, with almost no time to rest.

I had managed to hold my own by sensing weak spots with my Eyes of Lust.

I knew they were coming, more so I prepared myself and went back to drinking potions to regain stamina and heal some wounds I suffered.

The trees around seemed to reflect the light from the pillar, creating distorted and oppressive shadows.

It was then that I sensed it: a new presence that radiated a threat far greater than anything I had dealt with up to that point.

From the crystalline floor, a monstrous creature emerged. It was a gigantic spider, its body made of sharp, translucent crystals that glowed with an inner light. It had over twenty legs, each one as slender as it was lethal, sharp as swords.

Its exoskeleton glowed with reflections of light that made it seem impenetrable, and its multiple eyes glittered, watching me with a cruel intelligence.

My first instinct was to back away; I knew this would be unlike anything I had fought so far and I was not far from the pillar as I slowly during the fights moved closer, in case of emergencies.

Previous beasts, while challenging, followed predictable patterns, but this spider radiated an aura of adaptation and extreme danger.

Its approximate rating from the aura it emitted was six stars which made it a lethal threat, and without the resonance, I knew it would not be an easy fight. Still I wanted to see my limit as I was confident that they would not put the challengers to an impossible examination.

The spider launched the first attack. Its front legs moved with surprising speed, seeking to pierce my torso.

I jumped to the side, narrowly dodging the impact, but the ground where I had been a second before exploded in a shower of crystalline shards, causing me several small wounds.

’Damn, she’s fast,’

I thought as I positioned myself to counter. I knew any mistake would be fatal, and every move had to be precise.

My Eyes of Lust focused on her frame, looking for a weak point,. I began to analyze its movements as I dodged more attacks from its legs and from a crystalline web that shot from its abdomen.

The web adhered to nearby trees, cutting them with ease. Even the crystalline vegetation was no match for this monster’s strength.

"This is going to be tricky..." I muttered. I moved in circles, gauging its attack range and waiting for the right moment.

In the meantime, I tried out some of my spells. I cast several but every time my lightning and light as well as dark spells touched her crystalline exoskeleton, I barely managed to scratch her. And no other Element I know of has any noticeable effect.

When one of its legs lunged again, this time I decided not only to dodge, but also to counterattack and physically probe .

I turned my body dodging it by centimeters and directed a blow to the joint of the leg with all my strength.

At that moment for the first time I saw in the spider the pink flashes that indicated a weakness, so before impacting, I circulated my mana and made a really strong attack....

The impact was brutal, but the spider simply backed up a few steps and attacked with more fury. Although I didn’t seriously injure it, I noticed that the joints were more brittle. That would be key.

I shifted my focus, lunging toward it swiftly. This time, I aimed my Spells directly at one of her front joints as I spun to dodge another attack.

I watched as the weaknesses became more prominent and left it more vulnerable, I felt I was on the right track.

The creature shrieked, a sharp, piercing sound, the pain in its tone told me it had found the path to its defeat.
