Chapter 812: Chapter 658: Dark Sister Gathering (One chapter today, normal updates resume tomorrow.) Chapter 812: Chapter 658: Dark Sister Gathering (One chapter today, normal updates resume tomorrow.) The screen-sharing ended, and Wu Heng let Xiao Xiao out again.
Hovering to one side, she curiously asked, “Uncle, are they bad people?”
“Not sure, but something feels off,” Wu Heng replied.
Xiao Xiao nodded in agreement, “I feel there's something wrong too.”
Glenda said, “Shall we go take a look?”
“Let's go check it out, it's around Lundham City after all. If there's something amiss, dealing with it ourselves might prevent any trouble for Wen Mansha,” Wu Heng stated directly.
The ghosts had no objections.
The skeleton attendants led the way, Wu Heng followed behind, and the ghosts overhead helped indicate the direction.
Pushing through the dense woods, their clothes collected bits of grass and leaves.
Through the gaps in the trees, a large building could be seen ahead.
The structure was clearly an abandoned house that had been tidied up.
Gaudily dressed women posed coquettishly at the entrance, welcoming men into the house.
Wu Heng didn't approach and, turning to Glenda beside him, said, “Can you check out the situation inside?”
Xiao Xiao was not appropriate, as the interior largely featured adult scenes. Bella, though level 16 and not weak, still faced the risk of being discovered.
Glenda was the most suitable for this task.
Without saying much, Glenda concealed her presence and flew out directly.
Soon, she returned.
With a grave voice, she reported, “I can confirm that these women are all Ghost Hags in disguise. The men who go in with them end up dead afterwards. There's also a room inside where Ghost Hags are buying children.”
It was indeed Ghost Hags.
And so many of them lurking near Lundham City.
“Buying children, what does that mean?” Wu Heng asked.
“Exactly what it sounds like; see for yourself,” Glenda said and then entered his body.
The vision was shared with him.
Inside a room near the back of the building.
A man handed a baby he was holding to a Ghost Hag wearing a black robe opposite him.
Of course, in Glenda's view, the hag had an old face covered with pustules, whereas to the man in the room, captivated by lust, she would appear differently.
The Ghost Hag opened the wrapping around the baby, glanced at it in satisfaction, nodded, and took out a bag of coins from under the table to give to the man.
Then she called out to someone beside her.
Another seductively dressed Ghost Hag walked out gracefully, affectionately slinging her arm around the man and heading to the adjacent room.
The shared vision ended there.
Wu Heng released Glenda.
He pondered a moment then voiced the question in his mind, “What are the Ghost Hags gathering here for and buying children for?”
Both Xiao Xiao and Bella shook their heads.
Bella had even heard of a Ghost Hag for the first time.
Glenda recalled for a moment and said, “I've read about similar events in some books. Ghost Hags in an area would hold dark gatherings to exchange information or arrange plans. Their inner circle is also known as the Dark Sister Gathering.”
“And the children?” Wu Heng pressed on.
“This should involve the legacy of the Ghost Hags. I remember that Ghost Hags cannot pass on their lineage directly but need to consume human infants and then be reborn from themselves,” Glenda explained.
Wu Heng frowned, and the other two ghosts shivered involuntarily.
Such a perverse method.
Even by the standards of a Necromancer and the undead, it seemed twisted.
Wu Heng continued to inquire, “What's the highest level inside?”
“Level 12, which is about the level of a Steward. There are quite a few of them though. There must be over twenty people in there,” Glenda said.
In Lundham City, level 12 was indeed the level of a Steward, which was not considered low.
But compared to Wu Heng and the undead surrounding him now, this was no longer significant.
“Prepare yourselves; we're going straight in and then into the city,” Wu Heng declared.
Since they were here and the actions of the Ghost Hags were so eerie and cruel, they might as well exterminate them all during this gathering.
To prevent future threats to Wen Mansha and her daughters.
The three ghosts nodded, and the two skeleton attendants got ready as well.
Wu Heng cast 'White Bone Armor' and 'Pre-set Protection' on himself, preparing his defenses.
Then he emerged from the bushes, leading the skeleton attendants towards the building ahead.
As they approached the entrance,
“Oh~! What a handsome gentlemen. Is that a new type of armor? How majestic,” a lady in a transparent veil said as she swayed her hips and came straight towards Wu Heng.
Thump~!
As she came close, Wu Heng kicked her in the belly.
The immense force sent her flying backward four or five meters, tumbling several times before coming to an awkward stop.
The previously noisy hall instantly fell silent.
The men who had been seduced into the house, along with the illusionary Ghost Hags, stared at the scene in astonishment and horror.
“What are you doing?”
“Is your wife here too? Be open-minded; with so many women around, just let it go.”
“If you don't wanna play, get lost and stop causing trouble,” the men were the first to speak up.
With a casual move, Wu Heng's 'Lightning Binding' struck the woman he had kicked, and the lightning that danced across her body immediately killed the staggering Ghost Hag trying to get up.
Her body went limp on the ground, the once seductive appearance changing to that of a short, hideous Ghost Hag.
The complaints and curses around them ceased.
“Ghost Hags, these are Ghost Hags,” someone cried out, and the men began to scramble in all directions.
The remaining Ghost Hags immediately reacted, bending forward slightly as they transformed from gorgeous young women into ugly Ghost Hags.
The two nearest Ghost Hags waved their hands, unleashing two harmful energy beams toward them.
Kai Xiu stepped forward, blocking the beams.
They had no effect.
Then the two Ghost Hags grew sharp claws on their hands and once again charged over with a roar.
