Chapter 1016: Chapter 809, You Guessed Right, Didn't You? Chapter 1016: Chapter 809, You Guessed Right, Didn't You? He hadn't gone looking for him, yet he came looking first.
He released Bella and walked straight in.
Inside the hall were six guards dressed in standard attire with longswords hanging from their waists, all eyes turning to Wu Heng as he entered, casting a deadly tension throughout the room.
“Excuse me, gentlemen, what is this…?” Wu Heng asked cautiously.
Then, a low voice came from inside the room, “Sid! Come in here.”
Sid was the gang leader's name.
Wu Heng gestured for Glenda to stay outside, while he himself opened the door and went in.
Weak sunlight filtered through the half-open window, illuminating the figure of a burly man clad in Commander Armor, sitting at a desk, staring at him coldly.
“Sid! Last night the Minister of Political Affairs disappeared, and coincidentally it was when you were delivering money. Your Chi Feng Gang seems rather suspicious,” the other man's voice boomed like a bell, echoing in the room.
Wu Heng frowned, his gaze turning doubtful as he looked at the man.
The Commander didn't wait for him to speak and continued, “The Minister siphoned off 40% of the profits each time. Could it be that you harbored dissatisfaction and therefore colluded with Lundham City's assassins?”
So that was his angle.
He hadn't suspected Wu Heng at all but wanted more profits from the street.
Framing this matter on him was a threat.
The Minister, Level 13, took 40%, while he, Level 18, took 30%. Now, with the Minister gone, he was surely looking to adjust these figures.
“Commander, you guess quite well indeed.”
No sooner had he spoken than Wu Heng took swift action, a [Lightning Bolt Spell] turning into a silvery white electric python, exploding with a bang against the man's chest.
The incident was sudden, and the Commander's body was instantaneously struck, flying backward and crashing to the ground.
Wu Heng reached inside his jacket, put on the Space Ring, and pulled out a rifle.
The Commander scrambled up from the ground and roared angrily, to see a strange iron tube aimed his way.
Bang~!
The bullet, enhanced with [Summon Arrow Rain], shot out like buckshot from a shotgun.
Once again, the Commander was sent flying backward, his armor pockmarked with bullet holes, and where the iron hadn't protected him, blood splattered from his wounds.
Wu Heng continued firing, the bullets rattling off.
At the same time, he activated [Mansion Skill], and Kai Xiu along with Shanshan rushed out, pouncing on the fallen figure.
Back at the hall.
As soon as the sounds of combat erupted, the guards outside immediately sprang into action.
In a flash, appearing ghost-like in front of the gang member possessed by Glenda, they thrust their longswords through the body.
To the other guards watching.
The pierced gang member showed no sign of pain or struggle.
His expression remained indifferent as they looked on, and only viscous blood flowed from the wound.
The guards spared no further thought, withdrew their swords, and were about to head inside when suddenly their steps halted.
Crack~!
Crack, crack~!
One after another, sounds of bone grinding echoed as their necks were snapped, their faces frozen in horror as they fell to the ground.
“There are two more outside,” Bella said.
Glenda shook her head, “Xiao Xiao, stay here. Bella and I will go help your uncle.”
“Okay!”
Inside the bedroom.
Two ghosts flew in, to see Wu Heng already starting to dress in the other man's clothes.
“Is it over?” inquired Glenda.
Wu Heng nodded, “It's over. Did anyone escape outside?”
“Everyone in the hall is dead too, but the gunshots were loud; the guards outside must have heard,” said Glenda.
Wu Heng took off the mask from the corpse and put it on his own face.
“Drag the bodies at the door inside the room.”
Kai Xiu and Shanshan began to move the bodies, dragging them all into an inside room.
“Uncle, the two guards are coming.”
The courtyard door was smashed open, two guards with weapons looked their way.
Just as they stepped into the room, their footsteps halted, “Commander! Are you alright?”
Wu Heng stood in the hall, glanced at the two of them, and said, “Stay outside, no one is allowed to come in.”
“Yes!” The two glanced around the courtyard but didn't notice anything amiss.
They then closed the courtyard door and stood guard outside.
“They didn't discover anything, and they're still standing guard outside,” Xiao Xiao said.
Wu Heng nodded, returned to the room, opened the [Mansion Skill], and dragged in all the corpses.
The girl imprisoned inside the Mansion Skill curled up in the corner once again.
She watched in terror as body after body was thrown in.
The guard team of Yeko Kingdom.
Judging by their equipment, they were not just ordinary guards.
She simply closed her eyes and buried her head between her knees.
Wu Heng then walked into the Mansion Skill, gazed at the body of the Level 18 Commander, and released the [Revival Technique].
The icy corpse began to cough violently.
Mouthfuls of bloody froth spewed out.
The [Life Extension Technique] sustained his life while the skeleton-stuffed Healing Pills into him.
The Commander vomited blood while widening his eyes in fearful suspicion, looking at him.
Everything had happened too fast.
He, at Level 18, had been killed just like that.
Wu Heng said, “Don't die, you're still useful to me.”
“You're not…, not Sid!” Through the blood froth, he spat out those words.
Wu Heng looked at him and said, “Didn't you guess it earlier?”
“You…, from Lundham City…”
The lie he had made up on the spot, and he couldn't believe he had encountered the real deal.
Damn it.
After a few pills were fed to him, he showed signs of slight improvement.
With a thought from Wu Heng, heavy shackles appeared out of nowhere, securely locking the other man in place.
Then, he ordered the skeleton, “Watch him. If he makes any moves, break his limbs.”
Kai Xiu and Shanshan stepped forward, staring at the Commander in the center.
Wu Heng walked out and closed the [Mansion Skill].
He left the gang's mansion.
The two guards at the gate immediately saluted, “Commander, sir!”
“It's okay, let's head back,” Wu Heng said, heading out.
One of the guards glanced into the building.
Wu Heng said, “They're staying behind to deal with things; we'll go back first.”
“Yes, sir,” the guard didn't ask further, as some things were not their place to inquire about.
Together, they left the alley, with Wu Heng boarding a carriage.
The other two escorted the carriage, departing straight away.
Returning to the Commander's Mansion, Wu Heng walked in with impressive ease.
The soldiers along the way all saluted him.
Entering the Commander's room, Wu Heng took his seat on the chair again.
The room's door closed.
The entire room fell into silence again.
Glenda appeared and said, “This identity of yours might not last much longer.”
Wu Heng pondered for a moment.
He felt it really wouldn't last long.
With several trusted aides disappearing, a simple investigation would cast suspicion on him.
And he couldn't withstand thorough interrogation, as he didn't know the habits and memories of this Commander.
“If it can't last, then find a way to kill another one.”
“That Intelligence Minister?” asked Glenda.
“Sure, I'll listen to you.”
