It just happened that the three elders she met last time were in seclusion.

The lady went straight to the reception and asked,

"Did those old fogies come out of the seclusion?"

The receptionist’s face turned a bit red from anger and she hurriedly said,

"They are still in seclusion, when they get out, I will inform you..."

However, before the receptionist could say anything, the lady immediately became angry and said,

"You all are worthless pieces of trash! Get those old fogies out, right this instance!"

The receptionist said with a calm face,

"Ma’am understand this I can’t interrupt them now..."

Whoosh.

The lady was so angry that she raised her hand to slap the receptionist which made the receptionist’s face pale.

Gu Jin’s eyes narrowed as she witnessed the altercation unfolding before her.

She couldn’t stand idly by while someone abused their power and mistreated others, especially someone as kind-hearted as the receptionist who had just shown her hospitality.

Hence stepping forward, Gu Jin held the lady’s hand before it could land on the receptionist’s face.

Gu Jin interjected,

"Excuse me, but there’s no need for violence. I’m sure the elders will emerge from their seclusion when they’re ready."

The lady in the blue dress turned her gaze towards Gu Jin, her expression filled with disdain.

"And who might you be to interfere in my affairs?"

Gu Jin remained unfazed, her demeanor calm but firm.

"I’m just a visitor here, but I believe in treating others with respect and patience. There’s no need to resort to aggression."

The lady’s lips curled into a sneer.

"You dare to lecture me? Do you know who I am?"

Gu Jin shook her head.

"It doesn’t matter who you are. What matters is how you treat others."

The lady’s anger flared, and she took a step towards Gu Jin, her voice dripping with malice.

"You’re just a naive little brat. You have no idea who you’re dealing with."

Before the situation could escalate further, a voice rang out from behind the lady.

"That’s enough, Lin Qing. There’s no need to cause a scene."

Everyone turned toward the source of the voice and a handsome gentle face appeared in front of everyone.

The expression of a lady named Lin Qing changed. Her domineering attitude transformed into docility and she called out in a sweet voice,

"Hubby~"

The man stepped forward and said in a gentle tone,

"Qing it is not good to cause trouble, since the receptionist has already said that the elders are in seclusion and that she will inform us later, we shouldn’t trouble her."

"But hubby she should have been more respectful to us! We are important figures in this city. At the least she could ask the elder to hurry up," Lin Qing protested, her tone petulant.

The man sighed softly, his gaze gentle yet firm as he regarded his wife.

"I understand, Qing, but there are proper ways to address such matters. Violence and disrespect are never the answer."

Lin Qing pouted but ultimately relented under her husband’s calming influence.

Turning to the receptionist, the man offered a polite smile.

"I apologize for my wife’s behavior. We’ll wait patiently for the elders to emerge from their seclusion. I hope you won’t take offense to my wife’s words."

The receptionist just lowered her head and nodded without looking back at the man.

She was feeling uncomfortable but she wasn’t able to voice it out.

"Impudent!" Gu Jin suddenly shouted. Which startled everyone present.

Gu Jin looked at the receptionist with a disdainful gaze and said,

"I earlier thought that you were some big shot, considering you know all the elders of the Alchemy tower, and without your approval, almost no one can meet your elders, right?

But now, seeing you being mistreated like this, I realize you’re nothing but a cowardly pushover, allowing yourself to be treated like dirt by these spoiled brats!"

The receptionist’s eyes widened in shock.

Was this still the young man who was handing her, his phone number a few minutes ago?

Did he just pretend to be nice and now show his true color?

Otherwise, why would he scold her? Can’t he understand that she can’t stand against these people?

Lin Qing narrowed her eyes and the man too looked at Gu Jin seriously.

The man suddenly turned toward the receptionist and said,

"Miss I am sorry if my wife’s words made you feel uncomfortable."

The receptionist was taken aback by the sudden apology.

However, she understood why they were apologizing to her.

Gu Jin turned towards the receptionist and snorted,

"Since the matter can be solved with few words, I will say a word of apology too. I am sorry."

The receptionist understood Gu Jin’s words and wanted to clap for her.

Gu Jin pointed out that a word of apology was not enough to compensate.

If it was some normal situation, the man would have simply ignored the girl but the problem was...they were standing in Alchemy Tower.

If the elders whom he wanted to please saw Gu Jin’s behavior they would defiantly punish her, and what if Gu Jin pointed out that she was only following their example?

Then they would be done for! Because the elder whom they wanted to please is self-righteous. He wouldn’t see whether they were of high status or not...he would directly punish them or almost blocklist them.

Lin Qing and the man’s face turned ugly.

Suddenly Lin Qing thought of something and looked at the receptionist,

"Young man, a word of apology is indeed not good, so we should provide her some monetary compensation."

When the man looked at Lin Qing, she winked and the man immediately understood her plan.

Gu Jin looked at the lady with a disinterested expression and asked,

"What do you mean? I should give her money for disrespecting her?"
