Chapter 282: Intermediate Rank Spell: Dark Call
Chapter 282: Chapter 282: Intermediate Rank Spell: Dark Call
She can sense it?
Gu Jin was surprised by the brown-haired woman’s instincts.
To not further complicate the situation, Gu Jin explained.
"Yes. This..." She pointed at the Skelly, "is the undead I have made."
The brown hair woman raised her eyebrows in surprise,
"Wait so you are telling me that an undead could possess elements other than dark elements?"
Gu Jin had already thought of a solution and said,
"No, theoretically speaking it shouldn’t but the undead element I have awakened is mutated...so, yes the undead I make can possess elements other than dark elements."
The brown-haired woman’s eyes lit up with intrigue.
"Can you ask it to show some tricks?"
"You mean, you want me to ask it to demonstrate some magic tricks, right?" Gu Jin corrected her.
"Yeah. Whatever." The brown-haired woman casually waved her hand.
Gu Jin couldn’t help but chuckle at the woman’s nonchalance,
"Sure. Skelly 2 cast some spells."
Anyway, she didn’t know what was the number of the Skelly, so she called it Skelly 2.
Skelly 2 immediately put the command into action. The mud around him slowly gathered and formed into an earth wall.
The brown-haired woman’s eyes lit up with each passing second.
Skelly 2 continued to perform more spells.
At one point Skelly 2 stopped casting and stood still.
"Why did it stop moving?" The brown-haired woman asked curiously, yet she tried her best to maintain a neutral and calm posture.
If not for the admiration flashing in her eyes, Gu Jin would have believed that she was uninterested in the entire thing.
"It has run out of mana." Gu Jin explained.
"Eh? So it can run out of mana too? What happens once it runs out of mana? Dead?" The brown-haired woman didn’t even realize that her rapid question gave away her disguise of calmness.
It took Gu Jin a lot of effort to not laugh,
"No. It will not be dead. If it runs out of mana, it would stand in one place and recover the mana. Its speed is as same as any normal mage."
The brown-haired woman nodded her head and asked,
"What about? Will you have to spend some energy to keep it alive?"
"No." Gu Jin shook her head.
However, the true answer was ’yes’.
An undead element awakener would only have to make an undead once and no need to constantly supply energy to that undead.
Necromancers on the other hand had to give a fraction of their energy to their skeleton warrior.
But this fraction was close to zero. If Gu Jin’s mana was 500, then the mana consumed to keep a skeleton warrior always awake is 0.00000000001.
She could keep more than 1 million skeleton warriors awake at a time, and won’t feel tired at all.
"What about distance? Can this undead be alive if it keeps a certain distance away from you?"
Gu Jin raised an eyebrow,
"For now, if it leave China, it would fall apart. My undead element is weak currently and the undead awakened can’t be too far from me.
As long as my cultivation increases, the undead would be fine even if you go to the other of the world."
The brown-haired woman nodded and suddenly said,
"I would have to disappoint you though. I can’t take it."
"Why?" Gu Jin asked. She was sure that the brown-haired woman liked Skelly a lot. She was also sure that the brown-haired woman wasn’t a polite person who would decline such an excellent gift.
"You see, I don’t need a baggage. I can’t carry it everywhere with me." The brown-haired woman shrugged.
"Oh?" Gu Jin felt disappointed.
Well, that was indeed a problem.
"Master your intermediate rank spell can be used for it." The space reminded her.
"Hm? Explain yourself." Gu Jin said.
"Master with your intermediate rank spell, you store a skeleton warrior in anyone’s shadows. This spell is used to spy on others, but in this case, you can use it for your advantage." The space explained.
Gu Jin was thrilled and turned to the brown-haired woman,
"You are in luck. My undead element has reached the intermediate rank and a new spell has been unlocked. Just give me a few days. I will store Skelly in your shadow for you."
Even Gu Jin didn’t realize that right now she was like an unguarded child. She casually told her secret to a complete stranger. Which was very unlike her.
The brown-haired woman looked at the shining red eyes and her heart skipped a beat.
She could feel that Gu Jin liked her, hence she(Gu Jin) told her such an important secret.
"You can store the skelly in your shadow and then you won’t need to worry about getting assassinated. With my skelly in your shadows, no sneaky attack can land on you."
The brown-haired woman’s heart warmed and she couldn’t help but rub Gu Jin’s hair. However, due to Gu Jin’s bristle hair, her fingers were pricked and she pulled away her hand in disdain.
Gu Jin: "..." Sister I can see the disdain in your eyes.
Looking at Gu Jin’s slightly dim and grievance-filled eyes, the brown-haired woman’s body relaxed and she laughed.
Her laughter was like the sound of trinkets. With her mesmerizing beauty and cool aura, Gu Jin couldn’t help but feel relaxed and a smile appeared on her face.
After the brown-haired woman’s laughter died down, Gu Jin asked.
"So what do think?"
"Are you sure you want to give this Skelly to me?" The brown-haired woman asked, excitement flashing in her eyes.
"Yes."
"Then I won’t be polite. In return...I will give you my cultivation method of thunder element. It’s good that you have awakened a thunder element, it will help you in dealing with the tribulations ahead." The brown-haired woman said softly.
Then as if remembering something, she suddenly asked,
"But what I can’t understand is...how come you awakened an element? I believe the undead element isn’t your first element, it’s fire, right?
From your power, I think you have reached the advanced rank of your fire element. If so then the awakening of your thunder element makes sense...hm...."
Gu Jin felt a bit nervous and waited for her to question, as to why she had an undead element too but to her surprise, the brown-haired woman remained calm as if it was common.
It was to the point that Gu Jin asked her,
"Aren’t you curious as to why I have an undead element?"
"Hm? What to be curious about?" The brown-haired woman asked in confusion.
"Like...you know. If I didn’t reach the advanced rank of my first element, then why do I have the undead element?"
The brown-haired woman smiled,
"I am from the capital circle too."
Gu Jin raised an eyebrow.
The brown-haired woman’s sentence was baffling. But if thought deeply it was full of information.
The brown-haired woman thinks she(Gu Jin) is from the capital...
Maybe it was related to element awakening.
Is it possible that all rich kids of capital can awaken an element at every rank?
No. If that was the logic, then she should have asked what her fourth element was.
So...it means, the rich kids of capital could indeed awaken an element at every rank but only for the first element they have awakened.
Gu Jin decided to confirm her guess and asked with a calm expression,
"So you mean, you are too one us? You can awaken a new element at every rank of the first element."
"Yes." The brown-haired woman nodded.
Gu Jin was stunned.
Her guess was truly correct.
Many thoughts flashed in Gu Jin’s mind but the one that made her excited was...she could finally know about her body!
That day Gu Jin practiced for a long time and finally mastered the intermediate rank spell of her necromancy spell called "Dark Call."
Dark call was a very special and unique spell for Gu Jin. For her, it opened the door of endless possibilities.
Just the thought of storing her subordinates in someone else’s shadows filled her with excitement.
"Skelly from now on, you will have to protect that woman, do let any of the shadow assassins or anyone else harm her, if you feel she is in danger form an earth wall around her and listen to her every command, if you understand nod your head." Gu Jin said to the skelly.
The skelly nodded. Gu Jin repeated the instruction again and finally felt reassured.
She called the brown-haired woman and cast her necromancy spell,
"Dark call."
Whoosh.
The skeleton warrior standing beside the brown-haired woman vanished in an instant, absorbed into the depths of the brown-haired woman’s shadow like a wisp of smoke.
The brown-haired woman, initially calm, glanced down at her shadow, intrigued.
She stretched her foot, watching her shadow ripple slightly as if it had gained some form of sentience.
"How does it feel?" Gu Jin asked.
