The Mighty Mage
Chapter 263: Whity

Chapter 263: Chapter 263: Whity

The parasites, now reduced to about fifty in number, fought back fiercely.

They had realized something was wrong, and their movements grew more desperate, their attacks more vicious.

But the tide of battle was turning against them. Each time they killed a skeleton, another would rise in its place

Gu Jin used this time to chase in the direction of the blue-haired man.

She walked into one of the caves and hurriedly found the place where a fight was happening.

She had seen the blue haired man running in one of the tunnels which led to another vast area

As soon as she reached the place from where the sound of the fight was coming she saw a blue-haired man fighting with a black cloak figure.

"Rat you are truly more powerful than I had expected. It’s a pity that this strength isn’t enough."

Gu Jin released her plant vines toward the blue hair man in the hopes to suck out his life force a bit.

The blue-haired man noticed the presence of the plant and dodged it while fighting in a relaxed manner, he didn’t forget to comment,

"Hey rat, looks like your friend has come to support you. It’s a pity, because not only you will die, he will die too. Hahaha!"

The blue-haired man’s laughter echoed through the vast underground chamber.

He effortlessly dodged the black-cloaked figure’s attacks, his movements fluid and precise.

The black-cloaked figure, though powerful, was struggling to keep up with the blue-haired man’s overwhelming strength.

"You really thought you could challenge me with such pitiful strength?" the blue-haired man taunted, dodging another strike. "I almost feel bad for you. Almost."

Gu Jin narrowed her eyes, her hands glowing with dark energy as she summoned more vines from the ground.

She directed them toward the blue-haired man once again, this time more strategically, aiming for his blind spots.

But the blue-haired man was faster than she had anticipated.

He sidestepped the vines with ease, twirling around them like a dancer in a deadly performance.

He shot a glance in Gu Jin’s direction, his smirk growing wider.

"Nice try," he said, his voice dripping with arrogance. "But you’ll have to do better than that."

Gu Jin’s entire body turned chilly.

The next second an earth spike was thrown in her direction. Gu Jin swiftly entered her space and once the attack missed she appeared again.

The blue-haired man raised an eyebrow,

"You have space magic too?"

He still didn’t know that the black-cloaked figure wasn’t Gu Jin.

Gu Jin didn’t answer and cast an advanced rank spell.

"Nine pillars flame!"

The blue-haired man created an earth wall around him. The earth wall was so strong that even after the explosion of nine firey pillars, no scratch was made on it.

Once all the nine pillars exploded, the blue-haired man withdrew the earth wall and said in a mocking tone,

"That was a weak attack..."

However, the mocking smile on his face disappeared altogether when he saw Gu Jin and the black-cloaked figure had disappeared.

The entrance was blocked by a black shiny material.

"Space magic again? Tsk...tsk. If I get my hands on those two people, I will...eat them part by part."

A killing intent appeared in the blue-haired man’s eyes and he moved toward the entrance.

Without a word, he punched into the wall made of black shiny material.

Clang.

To the blue-haired man’s surprise, no crack or a scratch appeared.

Interest appeared in the blue-haired man’s eyes and he started tp rapidly punch the black shiny material.

Yet his physical strength could hardly make any mark on the wall.

After five minutes, the blue-haired man was bored and decided to end it all.

He cast an Emperor Rank Earth element.

"Earth spikes."

Whoosh.

A slight crack appeared on the wall, but that was all.

The blue-haired man’s eyes flickered.

"Hm...now I will not hold back."

As a result, 5 minutes later the wall finally fell.

The blue-haired man rubbed his temple,

"What is this black material? How come...it can hold on to an Emperor Rank spell? Hm...I should inform the king."

His head was starting to ache and he couldn’t help but mutter,

"What the hell is happening to me?"

However before he could react, a sharp claw emerged from the shadows, slashing toward his back.

The attack was swift and precise, aimed at his vital points.

Instinctively, the blue-haired man twisted his body, narrowly avoiding the worst of the strike.

The claw grazed his shoulder, drawing blood and tearing through his armor.

He spun around, his eyes filled with fury. Standing before him was the black-cloaked figure.

"You...what was that?" The blue-haired man was confused, He was sure, he had seen a claw.

A claw of a very familiar but...different monster.

The black-cloaked figure chuckled,

"Oh, that? Do you perhaps mean this?"

Saying so the black-cloaked man extended his hand.

Sure enough, the blue-haired man saw the claw of a lion...

"You...what are you?" The blue-haired man asked.

He wasn’t fearful.

No.

Because he knew that though the black-cloaked figure was powerful, it was not as powerful as him.

"Eh? And do you have some fetish to wrap vines around others?" The blue-haired man dodged and asked with interest.

The black-cloaked figure seemed to not in a rush to fight either and said,

"If you can guess, I will show you my true form-"

"Are you some beast who has reached deityhood?"

"Um...no." The black-cloaked figure shook his head, "Let’s increase the stake. If you can guess my identity I will tell you about that black shiny material and myself."

The blue-haired man chuckled,

"You know what, I am not interested in knowing what you are...I am more interested in knowing how you taste."

This sentence would have sounded romantic if the blue-haired man’s eyes weren’t flashing with the killing intent.

The black-coaked man suddenly raised his hand in surrender and said,

"I am no match for you. I don’t want to die a brutal death. In fact, I would love to tell you a secret before I die.

If you can...just give me a few minutes to let me tell you about my love story. Sigh! In my entire life...I had no one to share my love story with, so before I die I want to share my love story with you.

If you can hear, I will willingly let you eat me!"

The blue-haired man had a doubtful look,

"Are you sure?"

"Yes! Yes!"

"Fine." The blue-haired man said, "But on one condition once 5 minutes are up I will kill you."

"Sure." The black-cloaked figure said, " But I have a condition too. If you like my story, you will let me finish it even after 5 minutes are up."

"Okay." The blue-haired man motioned the black-cloaked figure to start.

"I used to go to magic academy. There I met a girl... let’s call her Whity."

The blue-haired man raised an eyebrow.

"Whity? That’s the best name you could come up with? Are you serious?"

The black-cloaked figure cleared his throat dramatically.

"Yes, yes. Whity. Her hair was so pale, so pure, it blinded people in the sunlight.

Rumor had it she used her hair to reflect spells back at enemies. You could say... she was a real head-turner."

The blue-haired man blinked, unimpressed.

"That’s... lame."

"Wait, it gets better!" the black-cloaked figure insisted.

"I first saw her in the cafeteria. I knew she was special when she was the only person who could eat the academy’s mystery meat without gagging. I mean, who can do that, right?"

The blue-haired man crossed his arms, clearly bored but allowing the story to continue.

"Go on, you’ve got about four minutes left."

"Ah, yes, Whity..." The black-cloaked figure sighed dramatically as if lost in thought.

"She had this beautiful way of... ignoring me. For weeks, I watched her from a distance. I knew then if she could ignore someone as charming and... clawed as me, she must be a keeper."

"Are you... confessing to stalking?" The blue-haired man’s face twisted in disbelief.

"Stalking?" The black-cloaked figure gasped, putting a hand on his chest.

"No, no, my dear blue-haired friend, it was merely... intense observation. I just happened to be everywhere she was, every hour of the day, studying her moves so closely I could’ve been her shadow."

The blue-haired man shook his head in disgust. "Yeah, that’s stalking."

"But wait, there’s more!" the black-cloaked figure exclaimed, undeterred. "One day, I gathered all my courage and approached her. I said, ’Whity, your beauty is so blinding, it makes me want to gouge my own eyes out!’ She said, ’Please do."

Tick...tick.

The timer went off.

The blue-haired man remained silent and said,

"Though lame, I still feel the story has potential, continue to tell me the rest."

The black-cloaked figure shook its head and said,

"No. It’s done."

"What?" The blue-haired man suddenly felt his entire body freezing.
