The Mighty Mage -
Chapter 210: Puppet Technique
Chapter 210: Chapter 210: Puppet Technique
"Then why are you called 1%? You should be called a beggar group. Whenever you see something valuable your eyes gleam like beggars and you beg for the item.
How...shameful." Gu Jin commented.
Lian Hua’s temper immediately flared up,
"You b*tch! How dare you insult us?" she snarled, her eyes blazing with fury. "You will regret those words!"
Without waiting for a response, Lian Hua launched herself at Gu Jin, her movements swift and aggressive.
Gu Jin barely had time to brace herself as Lian Hua’s fists came flying toward her.
The compass in Gu Jin’s hand glowed brightly, absorbing the brunt of Lian Hua’s attacks, but the impact still sent her reeling.
Despite her exhaustion, Gu Jin managed to stay on her feet,
Gu Jin took out more mana recovery pills, injury-healing pills, and stamina recovery pills.
Seeing Gu Jin eating those precious pills like candy, all four people present felt their hearts aching.
"Hey b*stard, how can you have so many black-rank pills? What is your talent level and elements?" One of the men with slight silver hair inquired.
"I will answer your question, once you answer me whether you are a man or not."
"You!" The man with silver hair was instantly angered.
"What I truly think you are not a man since you are hiding behind women and gossiping like some village woman." Gu Jin especially hated the word b*stard.
"I think it is better to chop off this b*tch’s tongue." Ni Shulin said calmly.
She didn’t want to admit but Gu Jin’s words were spot-on and poisonous to the point that she wanted to directly chop off Gu Jin’s head.
But...
Ni Shulin’s eyes gleamed with malice.
Lian Hua thought that the compass was precious.
Her two other colleagues thought the pills were precious.
She on the other hand...had a different perspective. If she made Gu Jin her pet or slave, she would have absolute control over Gu Jin.
All the items in Gu Jin’s hand will fall into her hand.
What was even more valuable was...Gu Jin’s power. An advanced-rank person who is able to defeat a peak super-rank mage is unheard of. This was simply because... an advanced rank mage could never defeat a peak super rank mage until and unless they are monsters like Long Yifan or the mysterious Ma Bence!
Just the mere thought that such a valuable asset was going to fall into her hand, made Ni Shulin thrilled.
"I agree." Lian Hua said with slight anger.
"I think we all should team up and force her to give up." Ni Shulin proposed.
The other three agreed.
"Psychic Beam."
"Fiery Flames."
"Thunderbolt."
"Wind Slash."
"Thorny Vines!" Gu Jin shouted.
Thick, poisonous vines erupted from the ground, curling and twisting to create a barrier in front of her.
The vines, covered in sharp thorns and emitting a faint green glow, formed a protective shield that began to absorb the incoming attacks.
"Flaming Crescent!" Gu Jin continued, channeling her fire element.
A crescent-shaped wave of flames shot out from her hand, creating a blazing arc that intercepted the attacks and dissipated them into the air.
"My god she still got some moves." Lian Hua exclaimed. "But unluckily...she has us as her competitor, hehe."
If Gu Jin was in her peak state she could still have the energy to fight back. However now...even though she has eaten some pills, it wasn’t enough to completely replenish her mana and stamina.
Gu Jin knew the truth but she didn’t dare to leave.
Now the group didn’t realise that her main weakness was just right behind them.
Lu Siyao...
Lu Siyao did her best to keep quiet and act as if she was unconscious so that the group didn’t look in her direction.
Once the group arrived, she signaled Lu Siyao to keep her presence hidden and wait for the right moment. She kept still, blending into the shadows as much as possible.
As the four attackers prepared their next round of attacks, they didn’t forget to taunt her,
"Let’s see how you will able to hold on." one of them jeered, the silver-haired man adding with a sneer,
"Your resources are running out, and you’re just one person against us all."
Gu Jin gritted her teeth, sweat trickling down her face.
She knew she couldn’t keep this up much longer. Every spell she cast took a toll on her remaining energy.
"Hey! She is too stubborn she won’t give up on her own. Let’s directly use that technique." Ni Shulin said with gritted teeth.
"Okay." The other two men nodded.
Lian Hua’s eyes gleamed with malicious intent.
"I’ll handle her legs. She won’t be able to dodge once they start."
As the group began their preparation, Gu Jin was confused.
Lian Hua, with a quick motion, raised her hands, and a wave of icy energy shot toward Gu Jin’s legs. The frost spread quickly, encasing her legs in a thick layer of ice.
"Damn it!" Gu Jin cursed, struggling against the ice.
Her compass glowed brightly, trying to deflect the icy assault.
Despite her best efforts, the ice held firm, pinning her legs in place. She could still move her upper body, but her mobility was severely compromised.
Suddenly the ice started to melt and Gu Jin hurriedly pulled away.
She thanked the compass in her heart.
"Guys, you both immobilize her. Use spatial method." Lin Hua said with an irritated expression.
The silver-haired man, his expression cold and focused, opened a shimmering spatial portal with a wave of his hand.
The portal swirled and pulsed with dark energy, casting eerie shadows across the battlefield.
From within the portal, the other man, who had plant elements as his secondary element, extended a root-like vine.
He chanted softly, and the vine slithered out of the portal, aiming straight for Gu Jin.
Gu Jin’s compass, which had been deflecting their attacks until now, could no longer shield her effectively.
The vine, emerging from the portal behind her, was too quick and too close for her to counter.
It wrapped around her body, tightening and constricting her movements.
Ni Shulin and the others seized the moment.
They began to perform the forbidden Puppet Technique.
The puppet technique was used to control a person’s mind. It was a forbidden art only known by the members of the 1% group.
The group of four stood in north, south, east, and west direction.
Ni Shulin took out a plate-like thing and threw it in the air.
The plate started to rotate in the air and emitted a soft purple light.
The purple light was about to fall on Gu Jin when...
Whoosh.
Lu Siyao couldn’t watch Gu Jin being tormented and used her ice shards to break the vines.
"Huh? Hey, looks like someone from the shadows is helping the b*tch." The silver-haired man said with a smirk.
However, his eyes were filled with anger.
The four attackers turned their attention to Lu Siyao.
The spinning disk, which had been descending towards Gu Jin, wobbled in mid-air as the purple light flickered.
Gu Jin took a deep breath, seizing the chance provided by Lu Siyao’s intervention.
With her remaining strength, she gathered a burst of black fiery energy and directed it towards the disk.
This was an intermediate-rank dark fire element spell.
She had heard that the dark fire element was very strong now she wanted to see how much damage the dark fire element could do.
The flames collided with the purple light, causing a brilliant explosion.
Ni Shulin’s eyes widened in shock. "What’s happening?"
The explosion disrupted the Puppet Technique, causing the spinning disk to fall harmlessly to the ground. The purple light dissipated.
"Siyao use it." Gu Jin shouted and quickly took out a teleportation talisman.
Lu Siyao waiting for this opportunity immediately tore the teleporation talismans.
If she wanted she could have escaped long ago, but since Gu Jin was in danger she didn’t dare to use the teleportation talismans.
What if Gu Jin needs her help?
Lu Siyao was able to teleport, however, by the time, Gu Jin tore the talismans, the silver-haired man had already cast a space spell.
"Space Barrier."
Even after when Gu Jin tore the talismans, she wasn’t able to leave at all.
Whoosh.
The silver-haired man was angry and took out a magic artifact from his storage ring. It was a magic dragger.
Without any thought, he threw the dragger in Gu Jin’s direction through the portal.
Gu Jin barely had time to react. With the compass glowing brightly, she summoned a burst of protective energy.
The dragger collided with the protective shield, causing a loud clang as the weapon was deflected, but not without leaving a gash on Gu Jin’s arm.
"Guys enough. I think it’s better if we attack her together." Ni Shulin was frustrated. This was the first time, she met someone like Gu Jin.
So for the next hours, the one-sided battle continued and Gu Jin mainly focused on protecting herself.
