The Mighty Mage -
Chapter 182: Foresight
Chapter 182: Chapter 182: Foresight
The existence of the mutated plant element was a secret and she can’t tell Liang Bao even though she trusted her a lot.
Liang Bao was surprised but soon a genuinely delighted expression appeared on her face,
"I will you will break through to the advanced rank soon!"
Gu Jin smiled and changed the topic since she was feeling a bit guilty,
"What were you saying earlier?"
Once Gu Jin reminded Liang Bao, she(Liang Bao) tapped her forehead and sighed,
"Oh, what was I saying? I forgot!"
Gu Jin kindly reminded her,
"You were telling something about instincts."
"Right! Instincts! Just because of instincts..."
Gu Jin interuppted her,
"My instincts never lie, it is just...it was never this specific before."
Gu Jin has experienced this before but even at that time, she didn’t know from where the danger was arriving.
Liang Bao looked at Gu Jin cautiously and asked,
"Have you experienced this before?"
Gu Jin decided to tell her about her last experience and said,
"Yes, in fact..."
Then she told her about the previous incident. Of course, she didn’t tell about the arrival of Long Yifan.
Liang Bao’s heart skipped a beat and she asked with worry,
"Jin’er, that’s terrifying! Why didn’t you tell us about this before?"
"That is not the main point. the main point is I believe in my instincts." Gu Jin corrected her.
Liang Bao suddenly paused and stared at Gu Jin with a serious expression,
"Jin do you perhaps...also have this kind of reaction when you sense some treasure?"
Treasure?
Gu Jin suddenly remembered the time when she entered the Spatial rift.
At that time the white ball in her mana space suddenly asked her to move to a specific place.
Can it be counted?
"Think about it. Does your body, respond to treasure."
Body?
Well, mana balls can’t be counted in body, right?
Then...
"No." Gu Jin replied.
"Hmm..." Liang Bao fell into deep thought. Finally, Liang Bao said, "Jin’er I think you might be one in the million people who have awakened Foresight."
"Foresight?" Gu Jin asked curiously. She was always curious in her previous life as to why she was able to sense the danger before it happened.
Maybe now she would get her answer.
Liang Bao asked mysteriously,
"Do you know that earlier, an Emperor Rank Mage named Sui Guonan was able to save the world from a nationwide disaster?"
Gu Jin frowned,
"What does his achievement have to do with me?"
"The reason why he was able to save the nation was because of his instincts! He had awakened Foresight. His instincts told him that a nationwide disaster was about to occur!"
"Are you saying that I might have something similar?" Gu Jin understood.
Liang Bao nodded vigorously.
"Exactly! Foresight is an incredibly rare ability, even among mages. It allows the possessor to sense impending danger or significant events before they happen.
If your instincts are this strong and specific, you might have a latent form of Foresight."
Gu Jin mulled over Liang Bao’s words.
If she truly had Foresight, it would explain a lot about her unusual ability to sense danger.
This could be both a blessing and a curse, depending on how she used it.
"Well, if that’s the case, then I definitely can’t ignore this feeling," Gu Jin said.
Liang Bao nodded.
Instead of feeling relieved, she became worried,
"Are you sure you will be able to protect Yao’er?" Liang Bao asked.
She didn’t doubt Gu Jin’s power but when compared to the unpredictable nature of the magic world, she was concerned about whether Gu Jin could respond effectively in time.
Gu Jin gently patted Liang Bao’s hand and said,
"I’ll do everything in my power to protect her. Trust me."
Even if she faces the disaster, it doesn’t matter. She could throw Lu Siyao in the space.
If Liang Bao knew Gu Jin’s thoughts she would have fainted right away.
Liang Bao sighed and nodded, still looking a bit anxious but choosing to believe in Gu Jin.
.............
Lu Siyao was about to enter the classroom, but she stopped and turned toward the washroom.
She blamed herself for drinking too much!
The moment she entered the washroom, Lu Siyao suddenly felt as if someone was watching her.
Lu Siyao glanced around the washroom, feeling a shiver run down her spine.
The room was empty, but the sensation of being watched was unmistakable.
She quickly finished her business and washed her hands, trying to shake off the eerie feeling.
As she was about to leave, she heard a faint noise, like a whisper.
She froze, her heart pounding in her chest. Slowly, she turned around, scanning the room again.
There was no one there.
"Get a grip, Siyao," she muttered to herself, trying to calm her racing heart. She took a deep breath and decided to leave the washroom quickly.
As she exited, Lu Siyao couldn’t shake the feeling that something was wrong.
She made her way to the classroom, but her thoughts were distracted by the strange experience.
When she entered the classroom, she saw Gu Jin sitting near the window, engrossed in her notes.
Gu Jin looked up and smiled as Lu Siyao approached.
"Everything okay, Siyao?" Gu Jin asked, noticing the unsettled expression on her friend’s face.
Lu Siyao hesitated for a moment before nodding.
"Yeah, just... had a weird feeling in the washroom. Felt like someone was watching me."
Gu Jin narrowed her eyes and asked,
"The washroom which is just beside our classroom?"
"Yes." Lu Siyao nodded. Then she shrugged and said, "Maybe I am thinking too much! Ignore me."
Gu Jin didn’t respond to her and Lu Siyao returned to her seat,
Gu Jin stood up and walked out of the classroom.
She made her way toward the washroom, her instincts on high alert.
The corridor was quiet, with only the faint sounds of students murmuring in the nearby classrooms
Gu Jin stepped inside, scanning the area carefully. The washroom appeared empty, but she trusted her instincts.
She walked slowly, her senses heightened, searching for anything out of the ordinary.
A shadow approached the window in a corner where Gu Jin couldn’t see.
Before the shadow could exit, Gu Jin spotted it and attacked.
"Plant Spikes!"
However, the plant element wasn’t very effective against the shadow element and Gu Jin could only watch helplessly as the shadow left.
When Gu Jin walked up to the window, the shadow had already left.
...........
The shadow hurriedly entered one of the classrooms and slowly took the form of a man.
If Gu Jin had been present there she would have realized that the person was none other than Xi Yun.
Xi Yun was the head teacher of Grade 3 Class A.
Xi Yun slammed the desk and gritted his teeth,
"I was so close! So close! If only that girl didn’t come in the washroom!"
..........
Gu Jin could only leave the washroom and return to the classroom.
The teacher had already arrived and after scolding Gu Jin a little she let her in.
Lu Siyao looked at Gu Jin curiously and asked,
"Where did you go?"
"I was just taking a stroll."
"Oh."
"Pay attention to the class!" The subject teacher shouted at Lu Siyao who straightened her back.
After the lecture was over, Lu Siyao and Gu Jin returned to Gu Jin’s small house.
Gu Jin had already informed Ying Yue that she would come to pick her up later and they won’t live in Long Mansion for long.
Jasmine’s treatment would soon be over and her work will be considered to be over by then.
She too didn’t want to live in the mansion that invoked her past feelings!
After changing their clothes, Gu Jin and Lu Siyao made their way to the Long Mansion.
Gu Jin led Lu Siyao to the living room, went to jasmine’s room, and started treating her.
Ying Yue knew that Gu Jin had arrived and she hurriedly walked downstairs.
In the living room, she saw a girl wearing Gu Jin’s clothes.
Ying Yue mistook her for Gu Jin and hurriedly walked up to her.
"Sister~"
Lu Siyao turned around, surprised, and smiled warmly at Ying Yue.
"I’m sorry, you must be Ying Yue. I’m Lu Siyao, a friend of Gu Jin," she said kindly.
Ying Yue’s eyes widened in surprise and embarrassment.
"Oh, I’m so sorry!"
Then she stared at Lu Siyao’s forehead and her brows furrowed.
"Huh?"
"What happened? Is there something on my face?" Lu Siyao asked and touched her forehead.
"Ah, that...why is your forehead black?" Ying Yue asked curiously.
From her perspective Lu Siyao had black clouds floating on her head.
Lu Siyao took out her phone and checked the camera for a long time but didn’t find anything.
Confused, she asked,
"Are you sure, there is something black on my forehead?"
"Yeah!" Ying Yue nodded seriously.
Just then Gu Jin came downstairs with a tired expression.
When she entered the living room, she heard their conversation.
