First Gu Jin checked the room and after closing the window, Gu Jin placed the wooden box in the center.

Filled some wood and lit it. Then she closed the box and placed the bathtub on the wooden box.

For the head butler, Gu Jin was just like King Kong Barbie.

Who would have thought that such a petite girl could lift so much weight?

Gu Jin filled the tub with hot water and took out the herb paste she had made before.

After mixing two tablespoons in the hot water, Gu Jin lit up the candle and started heating the needles.

"Place her in the tub." She commanded and the head butler was instantly worried.

Looking at the hot water he asked cautiously.

"Miss Gu, don’t you think...the water is too hot for Young Miss’s body?"

Gu Jin paused for a minute, before saying,

"Thanks for your reminder, I will look through it. Now place her in the tub."

The head butler hesitated, and Gu Jin’s tone turned cold as she said,

"Do you want your Young Miss to be cured or not?"

The head butler bit the bullet and with the help of the two maids placed Long Yifan’s sister in the tub.

Once they were done, the maids and the head butler couldn’t help but feel pity for their Young Miss.

They had just now touched the water and it was so hot that they felt that if they placed their hand in the water for more than 5 minutes they would be scalded.

Gu Jin didn’t waste any time and entered the tub too.

For a moment her body trembled, but she gritted her teeth and held Long Yifan’s sister’s hand.

Gu Jin started to circulate the Fire Element in her body to protect herself and Long Yifan’s sister from getting scalded.

Usually, this was not possible but Gu Jin’s Dark Fire allowed her to experience things that can’t be experienced with an ordinary Fire element.

However, there were certain disadvantages to this method.

Gu Jin had used this method once and didn’t face that disadvantage because she had only used that method on her body.

Now that she was using the same method but for 2 people, Gu Jin realized the major disadvantage.

Her energy was draining fast.

And since she had never tried for two people, Gu Jin wasn’t able to balance the energy.

Sometimes she would use 20% of her energy to protect Long Yifan’s sister and 10% to protect herself.

Hence Gu Jin was getting scalded.

At the same time, she had to insert the needles into Long Yifan’s sister’s body with focus.

Gu Jin’s face was so calm during the entire time, that even the head butler didn’t know Gu Jin’s struggle.

All they saw was how easily Gu Jin was inserting the needles into Long Yifan’s sister’s body.

Black substances were pouring out of Long Yifan’s sister’s body. It looked really disgusting...

That was all the maids could think.

When the smell of the black substances hit their nose, the maid could hardly hide their disdain.

The head butler too found the smell hard to bear but he wasn’t disdainful at all. Instead, he felt heartache for his Young Miss.

He had a basic knowledge of medicines and he knew that the black substances were most like the poison in his Young Miss’s body.

Gu Jin didn’t even look and said,

"Whoever finds the smell unbearable can leave."

The maids were stunned but they really were not able to bear the smell and hence after bowing, they left the room.

Once outside the maids couldn’t help but gossip a bit,

"Huuuu. My god! I almost died from the smell!"

"Me too!"

"God, even though I was at a certain distance I was not able to breathe, how is that girl able to hold her breath?"

"I don’t know! Maybe this is why Magic is important."

By the time Gu Jin had finished the session, her entire body was trembling.

The herbal water in the tub had turned from green to black.

Once done, Gu Jin slowly pulled Long Yifan’s sister out and asked the maid to change the hot water to cold.

The maids almost felt suffocated by the smell once they entered the room, however they did as Gu Jin said.

When the head butler saw his Young Miss’s body that was covered with black substances, he sighed.

Now he understood why Gu Jin asked him for that stuff.

He simply left the room.

After the maids changed the water, Gu Jin asked them to leave and personally washed Long Yifan’s sister.

Reason?

It was a mystery.

Gu Jin carefully washed Long Yifan’s sister’s body in cold water, applied soap, and washed her entirely and when done, Gu Jin used the towel to wipe her entire body and helped her put the clothes.

After placing the girl on the bed, Gu Jin went to her room, had a shower, and lay on her bed.

Slowly her body started to shake and Gu Jin had to grit her teeth to stop herself from making any noise.

During the entire session, she didn’t realize that she was overusing her strength but after the session was over, the exhaustion hit her like a tidal wave. Gu Jin’s body felt heavy, every muscle aching with fatigue.

She had pushed herself to the limit, and now she was paying the price.

After resting in the space for 2 hours, Gu Jin finally had the energy to move. Without any further delay, she started studying for her exams.

Gu Jin’s memory had sharpened in the past half year. With the constant study of medicine where memory was used again and again, Gu Jin’s memory power had increased significantly.

After 2 studying for 2 hours, Gu Jin made pills and cultivated her elements.

Till 2 pm of the night, Gu Jin cultivated.

Her cultivation was impressive.

Currently, her Plant Element has reached the Intermediate Rank, while her Dark Fire has reached Tier 3 of the Primary Rank.

Gu Jin sighed.

She had many things to do but the time allotted to her was just 48 hours!

Gu Jin didn’t want to take stress and hence she decided to sleep.

The solution to each problem can be found if your body is in a good state.

The head butler knocked on the study room’s door and heard Long Yifan say,

"Come in."

As he entered the room, he saw Long Yifan wiping his hand.

"Yes?" Long Yifan’s cold voice brought the head butler out of the daze and the head butler informed,

"Young Master, Miss Gu has started giving treatment to Young Miss."

Long Yifan paused and for a moment his eyes flickered.

The head butler could see how his Young Master wanted to ask something more, but suddenly he held back and only nodded,

"Alright, you can leave."

The head butler sighed.

He could see what was happening.

After Gu Jin’s statement, Long Yifan felt upset and wanted Gu Jin to take the initiative and accept that she hadn’t given up on him and that she still liked him.

But the problem is, Gu Jin was a girl with self-esteem. From their conversation, it is clear that Gu Jin wouldn’t do things like snatching or seducing someone else’s fiance.

And maybe in some corner of his heart, Long Yifan knew this too.

However, because of his fate, he couldn’t break off the engagement, and neither showed his true feelings otherwise both of them would be hurt...

The head butler left and Long Yifan who was sitting in the chair, shifted his gaze to the window through which the moon was visible.

"What are these feelings?" He muttered.

For the next week, Gu Jin and Long Yifan didn’t have any interactions.

Both of them focused on their work.

Gu Jin focused on selling her pills, cultivating, studying, and treating, while Long Yifan was focused on his work.

Both of them became so busy that they hardly saw each other.

Gu Jin’s exam began and she stopped selling pills for 4 days.

Once her exams were over, Gu Jin participated in one of the auctions to buy resources for Si Kai.

She delivered the dividends to the three elders of the Alchemy and started looking for a mercenary group.

At last, she was hired by a small mercenary group named Shadow Fangs.

The group was comprised of skilled individuals with various backgrounds, ranging from former soldiers to mages.

Gu Jin met with the leader of the Shadow Fangs, a seasoned warrior named Captain Zhang, to discuss terms of employment.

After a brief negotiation, they reached an agreement, and Gu Jin officially joined the group as their 6th member.
