Chapter 87: Chapter 87 Xiao Hua, Part 1
Old Mrs. Yun said slowly, "Yun Qi is back now and we would like you to come over again."
Shen Cong squinted and chuckled. "Don’t worry, with our relationship, it’s no big deal."
After hanging up the phone, Shen Cong waved, and his son Shen Heying walked up to him.
"That day at the Yun Family, you personally saw Yun Qi summoning Yin, right? Are you sure no one else was secretly helping?"
On the day Yun Ying accused Yun Qi of evil cultivation, the Shen Family also sent people, but they stayed very low-key.
Shen Heying replied, "Absolutely, I saw it with my own eyes, and it couldn’t be anyone else secretly helping. Of the three Yun Family people present, Yun Ying definitely couldn’t have helped her, Yun Qiuce is a waste, and Mr. Yun didn’t make any moves. Moreover, the Yin Cha seemed quite respectful to her."
Shen Cong responded with a "hmm" and fell into deep thought.
He hadn’t expected that in this generation of the Yun Family, someone so young could summon Yin.
He previously thought that someone like Yun Ying was already impressive enough.
In comparison, the descendants of the Shen Family seemed quite ordinary.
He glanced at his son with a look of disappointment and said indifferently, "I need to go to the Yun Family, you go find out how your Uncle Tang Qing’s affairs are being handled."
The sun was blazing.
Shen Cong drove his own car to the Yun Family.
Mr. Yun still didn’t know the purpose of his visit, but out of hospitality, he warmly received him.
Old Mrs. Yun was full of anticipation for his arrival.
Once seated, after exchanging a few words, she got straight to the point:
"We’re all family here, so I won’t mince words. My little granddaughter Yun Qi has just returned home. Recently, some unfortunate things have happened at home, so I’d like you to help take a look."
The Xuan Sect has a tradition of not reading for oneself, not reading for family.
Upon hearing this, Shen Cong wasn’t surprised. He nodded, "Of course. I remember it was a few years ago that I read her chart. At that time, she was still young, less than a year old, holding a milk bottle."
Though he teased.
Old Mrs. Yun didn’t find it amusing at all.
Mr. Yun noticed something amiss and looked at his wife in surprise.
"Why bother Old Shen over something trivial?"
"Trivial? You stay at home but never concern yourself with the children. Did you know Qiuce had an accident while coming back from the Capital City? Though he’s okay, the car was totaled, showing how serious the accident was! Kuang’er had a streak of bad luck, and he was out all night a few days ago. Do you know what happened to him? And Yun Ying, inexplicably sent to the mountain by you, had a big quarrel with Yun Kuang, all these are not normal, yet you turn a blind eye!"
Old Mrs. Yun also had a temper; when she was young, nobody dared to cross her, not even the old master.
The old master had a habit of being somewhat afraid of her, clicking his tongue twice.
"It’s not as serious as you say! These are all coincidences, you’re overthinking it."
"You don’t need to worry, just follow my lead."
When Old Mrs. Yun lost her temper, the old master naturally submitted.
Shen Cong smiled, "Don’t get upset, let’s address the issues properly. As for Yun Qi, I can take a look from a distance, I won’t frighten the child."
The old master pointed outside to the courtyard.
Shen Cong stood up, squinting his eyes for a better look.
Just as several years ago, he couldn’t really see anything.
The only thing he could see was the abundant spiritual power on this girl and her innate spiritual energy.
These things are rare and hard to come by; though many from the Xuan Sect practiced for years, they are still filled with the air of craftsmanship.
Whereas spiritual energy is a gift, akin to a genetic lottery.
Clearly, the Yun Family has produced another winner of this genetic lottery.
He retracted his gaze, shaking his head with a disappointed and regretful expression.
"Sis-in-law, we’re all family, so I’ll be blunt. Yun Qi this little girl is pretty and cute, I understand your feelings, who wouldn’t be happy to have such a granddaughter. But she naturally has the destiny chart of an Evil Star, even spending several years at Yuqing Mountain only temporarily suppressed it. Once she leaves, the Evil Qi will gather again, and her destiny chart will inevitably bring harm to those close to her."
The old master suddenly stood up, "How is that possible?"
Old Mrs. Yun immediately had a deep gaze, "Don’t interrupt, let Old Shen speak."
"If your family has really been experiencing a lot of troublesome matters recently, it’s mostly due to her. However, the Yun Family is a century-old Xuan Sect family, and the home’s feng shui and naturally gathered spiritual energy ensure that these matters won’t become major disasters, all issues can be easily resolved. So having Yun Qi stay temporarily is fine, but for a long-term stay..."
Old Mrs. Yun’s eyes were filled with disappointment and sadness, after a long pause she murmured, "Old Shen, thank you. I know what to do."
Mr. Yun, hearing this, had a face as dark as iron, and looked at Shen Cong with obvious displeasure.
A few years ago, because of his words, their granddaughter, still in swaddling clothes, was sent to the distant Yuqing Temple.
Now with the granddaughter having just returned home for a few days, this guy came and, after some talk, might lead to the granddaughter being sent away again.
He didn’t want to accept this.
"Anyway, Taoist Wu You said Yun Qi is no different from ordinary children. She’s been at Yuqing Temple for a few years. If she were truly an Evil Star reborn, Taoist Wu You would have already changed his name to Taoist Worry-Death. But he’s still alive and kicking, nowhere near worried to death."
The old master spread his hands, his temper flaring up too.
Far away in the Capital City, Taoist Wu You suddenly felt a tickle in his nose, on the verge of a sneeze, thinking to himself that he’s always been a good-natured person, how could this be happening.
Shen Cong saw that the old master was displeased, grinning, he said, "I understand your feelings, Elder Yun. This is a family matter, I shouldn’t meddle."
Old Mrs. Yun promptly got up, exchanged a few polite words, and asked the butler to see Shen Cong out.
In the living room, the atmosphere was oppressively tense.
Mr. Yun’s face was dark as water, with an unyielding expression.
Old Mrs. Yun sighed, her eyes reddening:
"Yun Qi is also my granddaughter, the only child of the third son, do you think I don’t love her? If she were an ordinary child, I’d pluck stars from the sky for her if she asked. But the problem is, she’s not! She’s an Evil Star reborn. Honestly, at my age, if it only affected me, I would accept it. But affecting Qiuce, Yun Ying, Yun Kuang is unacceptable!"
"These are all imaginations, baseless assumptions. Who among ordinary people doesn’t have minor illnesses or disasters, you can’t blame everything on Qi, or perhaps you can think that they were destined for this calamity, and Qi helped to resolve it. Qiuce’s car accident had nothing to do with Qi. If she hadn’t been there that day, you wouldn’t be seeing your son now."
"What about Yun Ying, Yun Kuang, their quarrel, you dare say it had nothing to do with Qi. I understand your love for Qi, but Yun Ying and Yun Kuang are also our grandchildren."
Old Mrs. Yun argued a couple of sentences, feeling dizzy.
The old master was frightened into silence, helping his wife to rest.
In the courtyard, under the shade of a tree.
Leaves rustled, casting chaotic shadows on the ground.
Yun Qi, wearing a strawberry floral dress, was playfully stepping on the round light spots on the ground with her feet.
A little flower dog followed her, jumping and barking.
Shen Cong noticed her from a distance, feeling a pang of guilt, he approached with a smile to greet her.
"Hey little one, playing here all by yourself."
Yun Qi turned around, squinting her eyes.
On her delicate little face, her eyes curved like crescent moons, strands of hair stuck to her sweaty forehead, making her skin appear even fairer, looking adorable and charming.
Facing the ingratiating smile, Yun Qi snorted angrily, with a cute ferociousness, pointing her finger and saying, "Xiao Hua, attack!"
