The Mightiest Little Master of Metaphysics -
Chapter 72: It Should Be Your Relative
Chapter 72: Chapter 72: It Should Be Your Relative
"Hello, Master Tang." Xu Leisong quickly stepped forward to shake Tang Qing’s hand as soon as he saw him.
Tang Qing was dressed in a Taoist robe, holding a horsetail whisk, his long hair draped over his shoulders. He looked somewhat ethereal and a bit eccentric.
"Masters are all like this." Liu Xianglei noticed the doubt in Xu Leisong’s eyes, nudged him with his elbow, suggesting he shouldn’t overthink it.
Xu Leisong suppressed his doubts, thinking, is that so? Clearly, Yun Qi was clean and bright without affecting his profound Taoist skills.
Tang Qing glanced at him, "The lonely lamp flickers, a solitary boat on the waves, your fortune is not favorable, your life is in danger. Your facial features are quite regular, but there’s a red glow on your forehead, intense with evil Qi, indicating you’re entangled with something sinister. Let me resolve it for you."
Xu Leisong listened and found it similar to what Little Master Yun Qi had said, instantly gaining more trust in Tang Qing.
Tang Qing tossed him a knife.
Xu Leisong was taken aback, "This is..."
"Use a bit of your blood to perform a Mysticism tracking spell, to figure out exactly what kind of evil is entangling you." Tang Qing’s expression was solemn.
Without much thought, Xu Leisong quickly took the knife, cut his fingertip, and squeezed a few drops of blood into the vessel before Tang Qing.
Tang Qing chanted unintelligibly for a long time and formed several spell gestures.
Soon, Xu Leisong saw the drops of blood in the vessel frantically scatter and gather, as if they had some life force, sensing something, fearing something.
After a long while, Tang Qing concluded the spell and said softly, "A ghost has latched onto you. All your recent misfortunes are related to this ghost, and this ghost carries significant resentful energy. It is very familiar with you; I suspect it is a relative."
"A relative?"
Xu Leisong looked bewildered and terrified.
In recent years, no close family members had passed away. His grandparents had died when he was very young. The one that came to mind was likely the death of his uncle.
He looked at Liu Xianglei, his tone somewhat uncertain:
"My uncle..."
Liu Xianglei: "What’s up? Is it related to my dad?"
Tang Qing added, "A ghost with significant resentful energy suggests an untimely death or a strong attachment to the world. Ordinary people dying naturally, through the course of life, would not produce resentful energy."
Liu Xianglei looked steadfastly at Xu Leisong, "It seems my dad..."
He left the sentence unfinished.
Xu Leisong was incredulous, "Impossible, my uncle passed away many years ago, and we didn’t have such a great relationship in life, let alone any conflicts."
Liu Xianglei smiled, "I’m just saying, listen to the master."
Tang Qing, "Whether there was conflict isn’t up to you to decide, and sometimes it’s not conflicts in life that cause posthumous confrontations; some things are predestined and unavoidable."
Xu Leisong started to feel scared. He didn’t have a deep impression of his uncle; he was an ordinary nephew, and his uncle was an ordinary uncle. They weren’t particularly close nor distant.
But he seemed to have heard about the time when his aunt got married; his father disapproved, disliking the uncle’s average family circumstances.
In the end, the aunt insisted on marrying the uncle. After the wedding, the uncle helped with his father’s engineering projects.
Once, while inspecting a construction site on behalf of his father, a safety accident occurred, resulting in his on-the-spot death. It was said to be a horrific scene; the body wasn’t fully recovered, as parts of it were directly crushed into the machinery.
He was not an average construction worker; no one expected such an incident to occur.
Out of guilt, his father had been taking good care of his aunt and Liu Xianglei all these years.
Liu Xianglei held company shares since his teenage years, a privilege neither he nor his older brother had.
