Chapter 60: Chapter 60 Unlucky Talisman
Yun Kuang returned to his room and began to ponder.
According to Sister Liu, grandpa and little uncle must have been enchanted by Yun Qi, so these two would not be on his side.
So, to teach the little girl a lesson, he had to strike unexpectedly.
With that in mind, he wandered out the door and went to Yun Ying’s room, looking for a book on talisman drawing from the bookshelf.
Back in his room, Yun Kuang immersed himself in reading. At times he frowned in thought, at times he nodded approvingly, with a very serious expression.
He figured it out; since they were both from a mystical family, he’d use mysticism to make Yun Qi suffer a bit.
Although he wasn’t as talented as his sister, he had grown up influenced by it, so making Yun Qi suffer a little after brushing up on his talisman-drawing skills was no big deal.
The more he thought about it, the more confident he became, learning with great focus.
A few peaceful days passed by.
Yun Kuang had been diligently practicing talisman drawing these days, using up several thousand sheets of yellow paper and three boxes of vermillion, and the more he looked at his talismans, the more they seemed quite decent.
Full of confidence.
"Qi." Yun Kuang walked into the courtyard and saw Yun Qi feeding the koi fish.
The chubby, white hands of the little child sprinkled fish food seriously, making anyone who saw it feel content.
Yun Kuang suppressed his reluctance, ruffling Yun Qi’s head, "Our Qi is truly a kind and good kid."
Yun Qi looked up, her dark, shining phoenix eyes fixed on Yun Kuang, then she withdrew her gaze in surprise.
What’s up with the big cousin? He hasn’t done anything wrong, why’s he acting so shifty?
Seeing Yun Qi silent, Yun Kuang crouched down, using a coaxing tone, "Who matched this outfit for our Qi? It’s really pretty."
"I did it myself."
"Oh, you did it yourself," Yun Kuang laughed, thinking kids always pronounce "myself" as "my-thilf."
"Qi has a great eye."
Yun Kuang patted her on the shoulder, smiling as he left.
After Yun Kuang left, Yun Qi surprisingly took out a triangular yellow talisman from her pocket, opened it, and pursed her lips.
Did no one tell big cousin that drawing a talisman isn’t just about drawing it, but more importantly, infusing it with spiritual power?
"A bad luck talisman, huh."
It’s not much of a curse; it just makes me a bit unlucky.
The big cousin really loves jokes, so I guess I’ll play along.
Let him see for himself.
Yun Qi raised a finger, made some gestures over the talisman, and saw a significant change in the talisman symbols on the paper, with Yun Qi’s name transforming into Yun Kuang.
She lightly released her finger, and the spirit talisman suddenly burned, quickly turning to ashes that fell to the ground.
That should do it.
"Qiuce." Yun Kuang, after wandering for a bit, encountered Yun Qiuce, cheerfully greeting him.
As soon as he finished speaking, he fell to his knees with a thump, bowing earnestly to Yun Qiuce.
Yun Qiuce was startled, "What are you doing? It’s not New Year’s yet, no need for such formality."
Yun Kuang was only a few years younger than him, and although he called him little uncle, they usually got along more like brothers.
Yun Kuang awkwardly stood up, dryly saying, "Who mopped the floor? It’s still wet."
Yun Qiuce burst out laughing.
Having nothing better to do, Yun Kuang strolled over to find the Old Master.
"Young Master!" he heard a sharp scream.
The steward and some workers stood gaping at him.
"What’s going on, why are you all so startled..." He stopped mid-sentence, realizing something was off. Looking down, he saw that he had stepped onto freshly paved cement, and was slowly sinking in.
"What the... you didn’t even put up a sign!" Yun Kuang tried to struggle, but the more he struggled, the deeper he sank.
The steward was on the verge of tears, along with several workers who rushed to pull him out, "There is a sign, Young Master, you just didn’t see it."
Following their pointed direction, Yun Kuang did indeed see the sign nearby.
Strange, it wasn’t there when I passed by just now.
"Give me a hand, what are you standing there for!" he said irritably.
The steward strained to pull him, and with a sudden tug, Yun Kuang lost his balance, crashing face-first into the cement floor—face down!
The steward and the workers closed their eyes in despair.
