Chapter 158: Chapter 156 The Rise of the Yin Wind, The Extinguishment of the Life Soul (Second Update)
It was the plumpest among these little koi fish, already as long as a human hand.
Yun Qiuce immediately pointed at that koi fish, "See? It went in there by itself."
"Shut up," the Old Master pushed his son aside and inspected it closely, a hint of personal resentment on his face. He flipped the net to let the chubby koi fall into the water tank, disdainfully, "This one won’t do; it’s too big. Qi will have a hard time holding it on the way. We need a smaller one."
The rejected chubby koi swung its tail in confusion, quickly met by the laughter of many companions nearby.
Thinking its size would give it an advantage, who would have thought? They only wanted the small ones.
So, the smaller koi fish started flapping their tails, twisting their bodies, and nimbly diving into the net.
The Old Master hadn’t even put in much effort when four or five small koi appeared in the net, each of them petite and exquisite, just over a month old.
"Dad, are you kidding me? This is pretty easy," Yun Qiuce muttered, reaching in to grab the two smallest koi and putting them into the small fish tank prepared for Yun Qi.
The bottom of the tank was lined with white pebbles, accompanied by some green aquatic plants. The little koi swayed their heads and tails among them, making the setting interesting and fresh.
The Old Master flipped the remaining small koi into the water tank, surprised, "Strange, usually they act like they’re possessed, diving in at the slightest sound, but today they don’t seem afraid of people."
Yun Qi picked up the delicate little fish tank and made eye contact with the little koi, her voice sweet, "It’s because they’re little prodigies, they’re clever, every one of them."
The little koi swayed their newly golden tails proudly, enjoying the constant spiritual energy emanating from Yun Qi.
Having selected the koi, and after breakfast, Yun Qi and Yun Qiuce headed to the kindergarten.
Sure enough, every child had brought a pet fish. Some weren’t kept at home before, yet brought one along for the sake of the activity.
In front of each child sat a delicate little fish tank, various colorful and shaped ornamental fish swimming inside.
Surrounded by the exclamations of children, only one child, Meng Ze, looked left, then right, puzzled.
Returning his gaze, he focused on a large bag of frozen silver cod, exchanging looks with its upward-turned eyes.
The teacher kindly approached, "Meng Ze, where’s your fish?"
Meng Ze looked up, his eyes wide with fear. So that’s why the teacher wanted them to bring fish—to look at them—
He thought it was to eat, offhandedly told his mom at home, and went to watch TV. His enthusiastic and generous mom prepared top-notch frozen silver cod for him.
"Teacher, we brought live fish; Meng Ze brought cold fish," a child chimed in.
Others laughed heartily.
Meng Ze’s mouth twitched, feeling his authority at the kindergarten severely challenged, adding to the embarrassment from swallowing desiccants, creating a lifelong source of ridicule at a young age.
"Don’t talk nonsense," the teacher saw the frozen fish in front of Meng Ze, suppressed her laughter, and tried to comfort him, "Meng Ze must have done it on purpose, so we have fish for lunch today, right?"
She picked up the frozen fish, handed it to the assistant nearby, feeling helpless, "Remind the kitchen we have extra for lunch today."
Even with the teacher’s help, Meng Ze still felt uneasy.
Every other child had a fish, and he sat in front of an empty space. But thinking about the stare-off with the frozen cod earlier, he felt it was better gone.
"Meng Ze, we’re looking at fish, what are you looking at?" a mischievous child asked.
Another playful child chimed in, "He’s looking at air."
The other children laughed, enveloped in joy, everyone except Meng Ze.
Meng Ze had always been a star at kindergarten, suddenly left with a moment ripe for ridicule, his face couldn’t hide his embarrassment, and tears welled up fast.
Other kids laughed even harder.
At that moment, a Little Milk Dumpling holding a delicate fish tank unsteadily walked over, her voice sweet and soft, "It’s perfect, I brought two. We can each have one."
Meng Ze, stubborn as always, retorted, "I don’t care; it’s all the same to me."
But inside, he was filled with anticipation—boohoo, all the other kids had fish, but he didn’t.
Yun Qi sighed inwardly, why is coaxing a child so difficult!
Then, in a sweet yet fierce manner, she said, "Stop crying, or you won’t look good."
Meng Ze was stunned, blinked, realizing, she thinks I’m good-looking, I can’t cry and ruin the image.
Suddenly burdened with an idol’s image, Meng Ze wiped his own tears, tilted his head, and began admiring the koi with Yun Qi.
"Why are there two?" The awkward noble boy took the initiative to speak.
Yun Qi, with her wide phoenix eyes fixed on the two small koi, stated clearly, "There was supposed to be just one, but they jumped in by themselves, so we can consider them companions."
With a bright gaze and serene demeanor, the Little Milk Dumpling wasn’t proud for solving his predicament, nor ingratiatingly pleased with the kindergarten’s kingpin.
Her expression seemed to say, "You do whatever; I’ll do my thing. You be awkward if you like."
Meng Ze, feeling awkward inside and a little embarrassed outwardly, tried to find words, "This golden one is prettier than the spotted one."
The spotted little koi was suddenly unhappy, if you’re just watching, then just watch, why belittle a fish?
Anyway, still better than your dead fish!
Yun Qi’s gaze held firm, still not looking at him, focusing on the two small koi. Noticing the spotted koi’s anger, she said seriously, "They’re all beautiful."
Meng Ze licked his lips, initially just talking for the sake of it, not expecting to upset anyone. Thus, the little overbearing president went along, "Yes, they’re both beautiful."
The Little Milk Dumpling remained silent, Meng Ze nervous and apprehensive for a while, then leaned closer and whispered, "I’ve forgiven you for those previous things. What do you like to eat? I’ll bring you snacks from home tomorrow."
Huh? Who’s forgiving who here? Such a stubborn child.
But hearing about snacks, Yun Qi decided not to fuss with him. She tilted her head and thought seriously, "I like all good foods, not picky, but I can’t come tomorrow, I have to take leave..."
"Taking leave again?" Meng Ze cried out in despair, his handsome little face frowning.
Yun Qi playfully tilted her head, smiled, "If I’m not here, Meng Ze won’t have to see the annoying ghost and won’t be angry."
Meng Ze huffed in displeasure, who said I dislike you? Just embarrassed by you exposing the dried desiccant incident publicly, that’s all.

Soon it was outdoor activity time, with two large classes doing children’s exercises together.
Amidst cheerful and enthusiastic children’s music, Yun Qi blinked her big eyes, wrinkled her small nose, and suddenly sneezed loudly.
A concerned child asked, "Yun Qi, have you caught a cold?"
Yun Qi shook her head, her smile sweet on her face, "I smelled a stinky smell."
"Huh? Where’s the stinky smell?"
Other children were puzzled.
Yun Qi mysteriously smiled, said nothing more, and while the line wasn’t yet formed, swiftly maneuvered her little feet behind a chubby boy, fanned her hand over his neck, and her phoenix eyes flashed fiercely, "How you get back at adults I don’t care, but bullying kids is definitely not allowed."
The chubby boy turned back, it was the son of that fat man seen at the fast-food restaurant, in the other large class.
And at this moment, the ghost of the old man, which should have been blowing cold wind on his dad’s back, was clinging to this chubby boy’s back, blowing hard on his shoulders’ soul fire.
Cold wind rises, life soul extinguishes.
Blow out the soul fire on the shoulders, and the person becomes waste.
